Love the app, needs a playlist I love this app. I get a premium subscription through my health insurance but if I didn’t I would still buy the lifetime subscription. I use it that much.
Everyday I use the guided meditation and I use the focus music to get work done and the sleep stories to help me sleep when I’m traveling. I play a meditation while I’m at the dentist, or donating blood. This app is a big part of my life.
For years I have been asking for a playlist feature. Not something that’s curated by Calm but a full-fledged playlist that I can load myself with different content. Sometimes I can’t sleep after just one story and I have to roll over and find my phone and put on another one, which just defeats the purpose of trying to fall asleep.
What I need is to create my own playlist. I would start with a meditation, followed by a story or two, then some music, and maybe end with an infinite sleep music or a soundscape.
I don’t want this curated by someone else. I select the content I want to hear based on my feelings at the time, you can’t emulate that.
The last time I wrote in your support person said this feature was coming, but there have been many updates since then and no playlist feature.
Honestly it seems like a big gap and should have been something added right from the start.
Any plans to add a playlist feature?
Some medications are good I’m super picky about the voices of those providing guided sleep meditation. I wish there was less from Tamara Levitt which seems to be the majority. Voices I have found soothing are Jerome Flynn, Megan Reitz, Chibs Okereke, Dr. Lopez and Kirat Randawa. But there are only a couple from each of those. For the kids meditation, my child is also super in tune with what they like and prefers the meditations done in the character voices… Like the Paw Patrol and Minions. If you’re a faithful user of the sleep meditations as we are, it starts to get old when you find there are only certain ones you listen to over and over again. I would like the ability to rate those meditations provided and offer feedback.
This is the best meditation app I have been using this app for over four years and it amazes me it’s quality. This app works so hard to be the most helpful it possibly can and they’re adding new things. Every update like recently they added journeys, which is like supposed to help you achieve your goals, and they also have stories for kids and adults to help you sleep there’s so many meditations and overall this is a great app. I only have one complaint is that the stories have been coming out a lot slower lately like even only like once every two months, which is very sad to me, but otherwise you should definitely download this app because it is the best, you’re finally over. This is the best meditation app to get.
Taking time to be in touch with yourself The Calm app is so wonderful for someone like me. My mind is so busy and frantic. I have trouble quieting it on my own. To have access to all the different types of guidance Calm offers is a miracle in my life. I used it for free for about a year and was so grateful for the gifts of wellbeing it brought into my life that I actually wanted to support it or finance it. It felt good to actually pay for it! I also feel that it is becoming more expansive and giving as a service. It’s almost as if it is growing in its ability to feel the needs of the people using the app. I feel a great sense of commitment to Calm and to myself through growing with it. Thank you, Calm
Horrible, ad ridden experience This app is completely littered with advertisements. They frequently upsell you.
Open the app? Get shown advertisement for premium service.
Finish a timed meditation? Get shown advertisement for premium service.
For an app that is designed to put people in a better headspace, harassing users with advertisements for a premium service at every turn is a frustrating, and stressful experience.
Just finished a peaceful meditation, feeling relaxed? Here’s an ad for you, buy our premium service. Welcome back to the real world, a-hole.
Terrible app. Would give 0 stars if I could.
High Quality App with Very Diverse Content I have been using the Calm App for two years now and love it. The quality of the app is excellent. The content is excellent too. One thing I like is that there are multiple people narrating the guided meditations. Some apps use the same person for all so if their voice or tone doesn’t appeal to you, you have no options. That’s not the case with Calm. I also love how there is continuously new content. I purchased this at a discount through my company…highly encourage other companies to negotiate discounted rates to support their employees’ mental health.
Can’t sleep without it.NoWeatherHereon2024-05-03 The Calm app has become an absolute necessity for me. I started using it about 2 years ago when I was having bouts of insomnia. I don’t even remember how I came across the app but I have used it every night since I listened to the first sleep story. I can’t imagine trying to sleep without it. There is something for everyone with this app but my favorite and must haves are the sleep stories. I occasionally use meditation and that is quite varied and interesting as well. I can do without a lot of things but I am never giving up CALM.
I was grieving for a family member when I turned to Calm for some support. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that there are Grief Meditation series’s available ❤️ I shared these with my family because I found real support and encouragement from these! Lama Ron Owens was amazing.
Jeff Warren has the best meditation series. It’s so laid back, there is no “wrong” way to do meditation.
I will be forever grateful for Calm before and during the Pandemic.
Thank you all for what you do. 🙏
Unhappy with the latest updateBrookie Babkaon2024-05-02 I’ve been a Calm user for years, mainly for the sleep stories, and I’ve always considered it worth the cost. HOWEVER, this new thing with the journeys feature is just flat-out annoying, especially how the app automatically opens to the journeys page instead of the home page. I just don’t appreciate it being shoved in my face and I find it counterproductive to getting into sleep mode. Please do something about this because I’m honestly considering canceling my subscription.
highly recommend !!Weird0_notfoundon2024-05-03 id usually be very tired, get in bed, and be ready to fall asleep. but no, that’s not how it works. so… i wouldn’t sleep to well, or have trouble trying to fall asleep. so I decided to get this app called Calm? i put on some rain sounds in soundscapes, and i feel like I’m in a rain forest. (in my opinion that’s awesome.) there are so many choices to choose from. you can meditate, put on a sleep story, or just listen to sounds. you do you. but, overall a really great app.
