when I book my first trip through careem on last Sunday(2.2.2020) I had a bad experience from them. While on the trip my kid(2years old) vomited into my wife clothes few drops fall down on the car. When my trip end the driver asked me to pay extra aed50/- to clean the car, I wondered because only 2 -3 drops fall into the car. I regret to pay the extra money i will pay only the bill, then he call the customer service and they also told me to pay the extra money as the driver said.
I asked to him your car is not hygiene because of that my daughter vomits, careem will take care of my kid's health. But before the ending the conversation he end my trip. When Iam asking for the payment amount he told me AED66/-(trip fee) + AED50/- car cleaning charge. Then I asked him to what about the credit amount on my careem wallet, he answered; I already end the trip because you can't use the purse value. As I said he end the trip in hurry without asking to me and the customer service is not looking the genuine case. As per my suggestion don't try to book careem better use normal taxi they are good to deal with humans.
Today at around 8:16 I called a ride, prior I purchased the package of 8 trips, 2 trips I already used. When we arrived to the location the driver clicked on the panel and it was written that there is "4 dirhams to collect", I explained that I purchase the package of 8 trips. He declined and asked for a full payment. I was trying to explain that it it written on his meter that I have to pay only 4 dirhams, however he was still arguing not letting me go. I had to involve building security who witnesses the whole situation. As I was late to work because of that situation, I gave him 30 that he has taken + 4 dirhams I had given before. Now in my app I have this trip deducted + I paid 34 dirhams to the driver instead of 4. I have video to prove his behavior and the fact that I paid 34 dirhams. I would like the manager to contact me.
Careem used to be delightful to use! They used to take care of the tiny things: mentioning the car color, ensuring complete visibility on rides, near zero Mis rides. For the last two months however, it has been plagued with IT issues. So much so that logging into the app is one of the biggest challenges I face now. Despite regular follow ups with their ever polite/empathetic customer care team (Sapna, Raja, Alia, the list goes on and on - 10+ calls in the last two weeks), they have been ineffective at helping me login. What that means is that I need to get on a 5 minute call every time I need to order a cab. Whether this is the Uber culture running off, or something else, I do not know. All I know is that this is not the Careem it once used to be!
Everything from the taxi point has been great with me ,I get at least 2 rides a day and no problems.
My issue is with some of the features such as the ability to redeem gift cards with CareemPAY ,don’t get me wrong it’s great but for some reason the app developers don’t have anything there...sometimes a steam or amazon gift card would show up for one week then they would remove them, if you’re gonna have this feature why are you never using it? It’s now just a useless button.
On the other hand about your other app careemNOW, I have been waiting for months for the developers to expand it to other cities in the UAE like ajman ,Sharjah,Abu Dhabi . But no they still only have it in Dubai even though in the FAQ they say they will expand soon???
Careem in general is fine, and i like they added normal Dubai taxis there. But customer service is the worst! Theres no number on the app, i googled it, called them, and it was absolute terrible as I couldnt even talk to anyone - the pre recorded message says something like “you can only reach us if youre currently waiting for a ride, if you are currently in the cab” and something else, cant remember and then hung up on me, awful, needed to ask them why my Skywards miles are not being added - thats another big thing im unhappy about, I use Careem almost everyday and I am really annoyed my skywards miles are not being added.
Tracking is not accurate. Car location is sometimes confusing. I usually track my son ride on WhatsApp and not on application. Big difference.
Customer service is very bad. I reported many errors and complaints about routes options but unfortunately useless. Some drivers with no experience just follow the routes provided by the App. blindly. One time the driver took my son in the wrong direction and I had to call and scream at the driver who happened not to know the language. I was so worried about my son. Unforgettable moments. They never corrected the problem even I have them many hints to resolve. Careless management.
I was big fan of Cream for its professional service and instant support. Unfortunately they have stopped caring about service and focused theirs efforts on making profit irrespective of customer satisfaction.
1. They had phone service for any complain or delay.. first they had removed or blocked that away.
2. If any poor customer complains about wrong charges of delay or cancellation .. they just send automated stardard reply that it was customer fault.
I wish if there is any Governing body at government level or at apple/ google level for protecting customer rights.
I wish you didn’t make this application , every time I’m having this issue with drivers they going to another street and when i call them they don’t understand English and yesterday I’m just waiting for him and he was rounding in the area so i took another taxi and they charge me for cancellation while rta taxi never have a cancellation fee before.. also before a week i book a taxi and when he arrived he took another customer and left and then I forced to wait for him to arrive his destination to book another taxi .

I booked a careem and i was calling the driver to confirm where im waiting he didnt pick the call even after calling him thrice and after few minutes i saw the car with same number plate popping up in my app went taking wome other customers without canceling my ride and when i cancelled my ride to book another careem charged me aed 9.80.There is no option to raise a complaint against i need refund for this.The car was white lexus number plate L24189 and driver name Muhammad A

Taxi driver parked wrong place, I called and asked to come different side, I waited then it cancelled, this happened to me multiple times bcuz I’m using taxi every day.
Today morning again, I’m so faded up with this APP.
Problem is now without booking, can’t find any taxi. Don’t force us to use this APP for taxi.
