Can’t export or delete photos from google photos without deleting it on your phone photo library.
Ahekehdi on 2020-04-05
I used to think like everyone how convenient this app was to take space out from my phone. But now it seems like when I delete photos from google photos it also deletes the photo straight on my phone library as well. It also uses up my Drive space which was why I had to delete them.. but it also automatically deletes photos on my phone when I do so?? I also can’t seem to export the photos from google to my phone without sharing to someone? It’s so not user friendly and it shows that Google wants to take control of your photos!? Which is also really frustrating about how it connects to your phone and I can’t seem to find a way to disconnect google photos from my phone entirely. Not just un-sync it. Entirely. It’s impossible. They still have the control to keep your photos. This app honestly does not deserve a 4.7 stars rating.
Great photo storage and easy to use

I have only recently started to use google for my photos and have found it to be a very handy way to keep track of my photos. Which also I’ve found with the updates, it becoming the place of choice not only for easy sorting but other parts becoming available and the great speed in handling my ideas and projects. Great work and keep it coming. Google apps have become more and more part of my iMac and iPhone/ iPad daily use. As a veteran pensioner my photography and music with my guitar are things I use to help in my treatment with my drs in keeping my mind engaged and trying to be creative. Cheers.
Great app

It’s a great app that has great features such as timeline which shows a selection of photos for the same time a year, 2 years ago. It’s a good place to keep a copy of my photos and I really like the feature where it suggests albums or different enhancements for scenery photos. I highly recommend this app for photo storage and also photo search ability.
It works but could be better

Cons. Very hard to manage duplicate photos. Does not communicate/sync with other online photo services. Incredibly difficult to download a large number of photos at once. Poor text recognition. Pros. Good face and pet recognition. Easy to manage albums and share photos and albums. Google lens is pretty useful. Good interface. Reliable app and service.
Best Photo Storage app

Google Photos is the easiest to use and most convenient photo storage app I’ve ever used. Can sync multiple devices, creat albums and easily make changes to photos/delete double ups and feel safe knowing all your photos are backed up minutes after you take them. I’ve got 10+ years of photos uploaded now and it’s great I can access them anywhere.
Good photo storage & organisation

Does a good job, but there are features of iPhoto that don’t seem to be as well integrated here, like Facial identification, which is a feature but doesn’t seem to work as well. You do get more photo storage for free than with Apple though, although you have to buy storage after 10GB of photos/ videos.
New “getting your photos” feature slows everything down

New photos used to load fast but now I can’t see them until that thin blue line is loaded fully. And it’s so so slow. I want to see my images and I’m stuck waiting for this silly blue line that takes more time than what it used to. They create a solution to something that wasn’t a problem.
Would be amazing if it weren’t for one big problem

Once photos have been safely uploaded, the app is supposed to delete the photos that have been processed to allow more storage room on your iPhone.... But if you have a huge number of photos to be deleted from your phone (as I do) the app can’t delete them for you.
Best photo app currently available.

Just take photos and leave everything else to Google photos. It does all the photos management for you. It creates stories, videos and animations all on its own. The best part is that you can share it with your friends too. Highly recommended!
This app was really good until...

This app is the best to store photos on the cloud, I’ve been using it for a few years now. But now for some reason it’s signed me out and asked me to allow it to access my photos, but there isn’t any button to accept photos. Please fix this!
