Needs an option for an unsimplified ribbon
ggardnor on 2020-01-29
I own a 12.9 inch IPad Pro and as powerful as this device is, it feels so limited by the lack of full featured functionality that I would be able to find on a less powerful Windows device. Basic additions such as being able to create a table of contents, better shortcut support (for changing font size etc.) and an unsimplified ribbon would go a long way to making this program feel a lot more powerful. Some times I’ll have to switch to Word Online (which btw has all of those features but is a little bit buggy) or back to my laptop which is overall a bit of a hassle and seems quite unnecessary for the potential that this app has. Hope to see these changes soon
Limited function
aussie216618 on 2020-01-29
Can’t copy and paste table content from excel to word, it only paste as picture even I selected to keep its original format. I have chat with Microsoft support and he said the mobile version is different to the pc version and only limited functions are embedded in the app. If you are just reading a document or doing simple editing, this app is fine but anything more than that do it on a computer.

Can’t copy text from email or other documents in to word. Can’t right align text in address format e.g Auto corrects right aligned address block to read Main Street 2/678...... there is no possible way to write address to read 2/678 Main Street. Hopeless.. thank goodness I’ve discovered this during the one month free trial. Definitely won’t be paying for a subscription.

Can only edit with a paid version and it has to be the subscription service (office 365) I am only using it because I have to send documents in docx format for a project I am working on right. Will definitely recommend against downloading unless you need to use a native Microsoft format. Otherwise, there are many better options.

When I first downloaded this up July/August 2019 it worked perfectly. After a few updates I can no longer use it without a 365 subscription .. Which I do not want. Not worth downloading without it
Difficulty in changing passwords

I do not like the new version of word I cannot Chanel the password to start a new document, after pressing a wrong button. It’s ridiculously difficult. Are you trying to destroy your brand ??
Eats your battery and deletes your work

Strongly recommended if you wish amend work files or add comments ts to a document, only to type it again. Not good enough for normal use.
I’m not a fan

I find this app very useful in not having to go to my computer to type out items, which I can now do from the comfort of my arnchair.
