Gmail collected my three email accounts; two personal and one work. I opened manage accounts and tried to turn off my personal gmail as this is my work phone. That prevented me from logging back into any email using the app. Under manage accounts it shows that I can remove emails from this device. I removed my personal gmail. That had the same effect, causing gmail to not open for either of my other two emails. I deleted the app and reinstalled it to the same effect. Because I removed my personal email from this device it removes it from everything. So I cannot remove my personal gmail from the gmail app without also deactivating other apps that use that email, such as my music app. I now have no working gmail app on my work phone, which is incredibly frustrating as I am on that app about 3 hours every day.
I have three emails that gmail has picked up on. I DO NOT want all of these emails on the gmail app but it won’t open unless I make all active. This is a work phone and therefore I only want my work email in the app, and I definitely do not want all of the emails combined in one location. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but same problem. I did not give the gmail app permission to acquire all of my personal emails. This is a work phone and should not have access to my person emails. This is incredibly frustrating and wasting my time.
Excellent app all around. But for large email threads grouped by conversation view, I noticed two missing features:
1. Attachment icon is missing from collapsed email view, making it hard to find specific emails containing an attachment
2. Gmail does not auto-trim redundant content in emails (e.g if a response quotes all previous replies, the entire message history is included in each email). This makes scrolling a nightmare. It seems this feature is present on the web (“Show trimmed content”) but not the iOS app.
I am having truble while using the Gmail. Youtube and google maps applications in my iphone 14 pro. When i am opening these applications after open applications closes unexpectedly. This is 6-7 day of this issue and i had talk with apple care they are saying this issue is from gamil because all the crashing applications related to same pitch. When i am sending emails to gmail they are doing nothing.
I have multiple inboxes for work and personal and after today the app instead of showing email message previews they just say “You have a new message” which does absolutely no good. I’ve made no changes in the app or on my iPhone and and my iPad app it is still showing email previews. Please fix this or tell me a solution as it’s becoming impossible to use gmail if I can’t see message previews.
I have been using Google and it’s products since 2005, and have seen many upgrades and improvements so far and hopefully it would continue being even better in coming future with best end users experience including collaboration with other non google partners connectivity while respecting privacy of each and every involved persons in such communication methods.
411 Mb for a mail client that doesn’t even have rich text, direct access to your contacts, or the boatload of features available on the Apple Mail app or or the browser interface (and even 50Mb desktop clients like Thunderbird)?! Almost half a gig for a crippled email app would seem to speak volumes about the skill of the Gmail developers and coders. Fail.
Great app! I love Gmail. But I would absolutely love to see a select all ability. Because when I want to move a lot of emails or just get rid of them, I have to spend an hour manually selecting all of my emails just to do what I want with them. If this feature was added, I think Gmail would be perfect! :D
After the lasted app update I’m not getting any notifications. The app is not showing in iPhone settings-> notification. Nor is there any option available to allow notification from iPhone settings-> gmail
I’m using iOS 16.2
