Just like the Andriod version, this app is awful. Considering the time this has been out and the number of Amazon Alexa compatible and Amazon own devices out there you’d have thought with the investment clout of Amazon, they’d have sorted this by now? I have to force close this app as it gets stuck in a screen with no way to exit, the app keeps asking my to sign-in (i.e. complete initial set-up) randomly, and point blank refuses to show my device list when you select the devices icon (only grey boxes where they should be!). Deleting and reinstalling the app offers no respite… This is total trash and I’m amazed more people are not complaining. By the way, I’m using a new M2/256GB/WiFi&5G iPad Pro, so surely my device is compatible and not old or slow! Frankly this app is completely unusable - which is so annoying as the only way to see my new Amazon Air Quality sensor data is, yes you guessed it…. Via this defunct app 🤬
Updated to latest version now it won’t open properly and just sticks on some random screen asking which user I am. Can’t go any further nothing seems to happen. Once I did get through but struggled to do the things I used to. Closed it. Reopened it. Doesn’t work. Please can we have the old version back. Tbh what’s going on at Amazon. With this problem and the awful update to Amazon music. It’s like they want a reason to lose subscribers and loyal users of there products. It’s currently seriously tempting to buy some Google Nest speaker things and subscribe to Netflix light and Spotify and bin off Amazon. Let’s see if they sort it all out in the next couple weeks first.
When I first bought my Alexa device I was hugely impressed with the quality and sound. So much so that I equipped every room in the house with various dots, studios and screens with the addition of a subwoofer in the lounge. I could ask Alexa to play ‘everywhere’ to fill my house with music. That was two years ago. Now my Alexa devices are glitchy, keep stopping mid-song and I cannot get it to play in more than one room. I have restarted, rebooted and checked my internet connection. I’m so disappointed because I was really invested in the Amazon products but what can I say? She’s letting me down. ☹️
Not sure what has happened in the last few weeks but “Alexa” from a Sonos One speaker no longer works properly.
I’ve disconnected voice and Amazon music services. Removed the apps from my iPhone too. Reinstalled and re-authenticated. Also readded Alexa voice and Amazon music to the Sonos app - all connect fine.
Asking “Alexa” the weather or a fact - works.
However asking Alexa to play music or particular artist, no longer works. It performs the query, as she says “shuffling music by….” But nothing plays.
So who’s shafted the service, Sonos or Amazon? Fix it guys.
Clunky and unintuitive app, unbelievably glitchy at doing simple things like playing white noise. Despite optimising the settings, still wants to tell me about my “prime benefits” at 3.30am instead of doing what I ask and restarting the white noise I never asked it to stop!
No way of just going to a speaker and picking some music, radio etc - you have to use their bizarre “skills” concept.
Astonishing that the company who came up with the Amazon website can also have created this….
Repeatedly asks me to confirm who I am when starting the app, usually hanging when I try, hangs every time I try to set up a family member, hangs when I select the device tab, the communicate tab just sends me back to confirming who I am… and then hangs.
Get past this and some functionality does exist but you are very limited to what you can do.
Hard to believe Amazon have released something as important to them as Alexa in this state
Applies to app and Echo devices
Voice recognition poor
Feedback ignored - never improves
Claims to have carried out tasks/skills when hasn’t
Cuts off feedback
Starts hints and tips when set to off
Starts Question of dat when told not to
Connects wrong bluetooth device

programmers are your problem. Get your product sorted out, that’s not the customer's job!
I have no idea who is programming the software updates, but they need shooting! App keeps asking me who I am, even though I’ve had the Alexa app and devices for years. It will only play talkSPORT when it wants. One day yes, one day no. But mostly no! Can’t get the drop in cameras to work at all, they used to by the way. So all in all, if you want a really frustrating, pathetic so called UI, download it.
I don’t know what to do. Some lights I can turn on/off but try and change the brightness and I get some sort of message about not being connected.
Things have been working for years. But now things don’t. Complete mystery, as if I pressed the big red button to mess things up.
When it works it’s great but so often it’s not on the same page which is frustrating.
I now have five various Echo devices in different location in my home, what a versatile and useful device.
Is it possible that when I am not in the house to set up all Echo devices to act as a house alarm so that the microphones can pickup unusual noises then alert me via mobile phone that the device has been triggered? If not can this be considered?
