I have used my Garmin 235 for a couple of years and it’s been great. It’s really accurate and matches with everyone around until the last update. The update no longer works out calories burned. I ran over 10 miles and it said I’d only burned around 200 calories and only 190 when I ran over 8 miles which was quite funny in one way but really not good when you’re working out your nutrition. I’d burnt over 800 calories on my ten mile run as I have to use a separate app now to keep track of it when one app, my Garmin app, should work as it did before the last update. I keep checking to see if they’ve fixed it or if I’m going to have to use a separate app to record my runs permanently which defeats the whole purpose of having a Garmin. I’m ready to upgrade my watch but not to a Garmin if this problem is going to be a permanent feature. We pay hundreds for our watches and this simple thing should be a given on it. It worked before the update just fine so it just needs to go back to that.
Love it! I've been using a similar app to track my activities for a few years through my iPhone, but since receiving the Vivoactive as a birthday present last month I can't find fault with it. I run, mountain bike and walk/hike and it meets all my needs. I particularly like the lap time, fastest mile etc and the inspiration to meet your next goal even the reminder to 'move' when you've been inactive for a period even if you have achieved your 10,000 steps
Update 2/6/21: I now have the Garmin Fenix 6 solar, a great watch with more activities. However, rescheduling any Garmin training programme is a no go. Fix this annoying bug and the app will be complete.
Following some bad feedback about daily display for intensity minutes, it’s great to see massive improvements in the app. The displayed metrics are more consistent and useful.
I’m puzzled by the reviews that refer to connection problems. That doesn’t match my experience - the app paired with my watch easily and has never shown a problem. Pretty bulletproof in fact.
The app works and I really like it.
App used to work fine and was a 5 star app.
Then in the last 6 months the app would log itself out about once a week. This then requires me to log back in. Fine. But then I have to re-pair my devices.
I train in the mornings then it’s a mad rush to work. Doesn’t help once a week I have fiddle around with the app to upload my data to Strava
Very good app and has come on a lot since I starting using it a few years ago. For quite a while now, I’ve had to sync my Fenix 3 twice to register steps on challenges. Thought it might get fixed on a release but not yet. Please can you take a look?
For a company the size of Garmin you’d think they could actually make an app that talks to its own devices. I am constantly surprised at the lack of an intuitive UX. I honestly don’t know why I keep trying to make this work.
Typical iOS crap will not update because I don’t have up to date device. So my watch and bike computer is pretty useless latest software . Thanks Garmin for not helping ones who don’t have up to date phones.
Currently using the Garmin Coach within the app to help me achieve my running goal and really enjoying it . There’s so much within the app too that l soon start to venture into the challenges too .
The syncing and pairing on this app is a nightmare. Constantly having to refresh, reconnect and reinstall to get it to work. The FitBit app that I used previously was much better.
So I know servers go down, but this has been like this for 5 days now… put some coins in the meter Garmin!
This is definitely not IoT at its finest…
