They have a very poor customer service. There is no one to speak to over the phone. You have to chat which they take ages to reply. I have account with other banks and financial institution and no one ask for the documents which are impossible to produce. I was asked for proof of transaction. First they won’t tell you what do they want. They won’t tell you what documents do they need in first time. Once you provide the documents asked by them than they will ask for more documents. I was being asked for a receipt from my friend who transferred me the money. As my friend transferred me the money via online banking so which means he didn’t have the physical receipt. He never downloaded when he transferred as we didn’t know it will be needed. He sent me a screen shot from his bank app which confirms the transfer. However, they are not ready to accept it. Also, why someone will give you their bank statement. It’s just third class services from a financial institution. I can understand due diligence is necessary but it can be lot simpler like other financial institution and they should have a customer service where you can call and it can be resolved quickly rather than waiting for someone to come back to you after 3 or 4 days and even after waiting you get to no resolution. You will have to wait for your own money for ages. After going in a circle for a month I have just asked them to close my account. I would not recommend their services at all. Unnecessary hassle. I would recommend to go for Monzo which I have been using and much more simpler and helpful.
It’s taking over three months to verify sources of income. I was such a fan of his company but now I realise, it’s unsettling to trust ones money with a company with so many problems. You get a run around with AI responses then later these incompetent customer service reps requesting what mounts to more information requested for a high net worth brokerage account.
I am a metal card customer. They keep charging monthly fees without providing such terrible service. I am a seller of this company. Maybe charge customers when you have your sh*t together.
Wasted so may hours.. still have £15,000 “locked up” since November. The agent keeps asking for where the money came from. I have provided my brokerage account where I’ve sold shares and the exact amount was transferred to revolut.. how incompetent.. I’ve wasted no less than 12 hours in total over here months, providing them with various bank statements. This is worse than getting audited by the IRS!!
When one pays for a premium card, there should be at least live phone agents.. Nope! When you type in the problem you have, it catches on some of your words and start providing you with random answers, adding to the frustration. I can’t believe revolut managed to raise so much money. I was waiting for my chance to do the same, but now I am going to close my account as soon as my money is released. Terrible!!!!!
I have just started using the Revolut card and it is very easy to use. It offers a great selection of currencies and the rate is much better with Revolut than any other company.
It is fast for transfers even for larger amounts compared to other services.
The exchange rate given is the inter-bank exchange rate which is much much better than if you did a transfer via your Bank.
Security features are amazing. You can freeze your card in case you suspect fraudulent activity. Tip: always load enough money for the trip in your local currency in advance as it can take upto a day to transfer the money to your account. Once local money is in the account only convert enough for a day or two as any unused amount will need to be exchanged back losing a small margin. Your local currency amount can easily be paid back into your account at any time free of charge.
One thing I have not worked out is how to check the Auto-exchange feature. This is amazing when it works for me, where you can set an advance exchange to be triggered at a certain exchange rate between currencies. Once set, how to go back and check it is still a mystery. Most likely I am not executing here properly.
Overall, I would highly recommend to go for this card above any other cards if you travel.

Been using Revolut since the early days. Loved it as a Travel card and also used it frequently to transfer funds from credit cards to and then used the Revolut to make purchases in other currencies - meaning I got the better rates (rather than those offered by credit card companies).
Revolut have now changed this however - any transfer from a credit card to Revolut will be marked as a ‘cash advance’. This means that several of the more common credit card companies will no longer allow transfers to Revolut. The remainder, now charge a cash advance fee (and limit daily transfers to just £300) - which far outweighs the savings made from the exchange rates offered by Revolut.
So in short - Revolut changing these transfers to the ‘cash advance’ category has made their USP (for me, and MANY others that I know) redundant.
I’ve gone from being that person who recommended Revolut to everyone I knew, to telling everyone that Revolut is dead.
Now moved over to an alternative - which does what Revolut can no longer do, and also has ACTUAL Support!
I expect Revolut will start to see a big decline in the months to come...
I recently used revolut in a trip to europe. It was a good experience all in all right from the ease of opening the account, linking my bank account to revolut account , e-kyc, transferring money in the revolut account. The best of the feature is there seemless transfer of your balance between various currencies and at the actual market rates of the currencies without any markup or fees. I have not seen any other traditional bank offering this service Abe I definitely think this has helped me save money during my trip in currency conversion and fx mark up and service charges. I found the digital see debit sufficient for most of the purposes as most of the shopping you end up doing ,you can pay contactless in Europe but if you are travelling anywhere without that infrastructure extensively present then I think you would need there physical card. Only thing I wish from them is to improve the quality of the physical card they are offering. Otherwise no complaints and a regular user of the app now.
I have constant issues with this card. Customer service cannot care less and they’re happy to leave you stranded with a non working card; on average it takes them about 10 hours to reply on their live chat... and when they answer, they are very happy to close the case without resolving, because, of course, you’re not quick enough to answer back and you’re back in the queue.
Alerts don’t work. Notifications either.
Their cards have insanely long expiry dates (5 years) so that if it gets ruined or cloned, you’re forced to pay £10 (12€) to get a new card and they won’t even send it to you quickly, no it’ll take 2 weeks! And you have to pay even more if you want it sent by recorded delivery. Awful. Absolutely awful.
Luckily I’ve joined Monzo. They’re happy to replace the card for free if there are issues with it. Also the card arrives in a few days without having to pay stupid money for it.
I have bin locked out of my account for no reason what so ever since Monday the 27th till now I have messaged revolut about 40 times and no one has contacted me back not even 1 message. I’m a disabled adult that has only government benefits go in to this account not only has my app bin blocked but my live agent msgs bin ignored and I have suffered over this 7 day period and maybe longer by the looks of things. Revolut has left me in a distressed state of mind and suffered with no food, gas or electric over these days and with no answer nor some type of contac from there part I don’t recommend revolut to anyone and one last thing to let everyone know on the Monday in question after they took 12.99 for there monthly fees they blocked my account and with my benefits too so all they want is our Money they are modern day thief's

I will be running hitting the ground as soon as all my pending transactions will clear and will make sure the publicity you will get from me will be equivalent to the headache you gave me without being able to get in contact with you OR (on the rare occasions when i did (the 1st month after I opened the account...) you were absolutely clueless and useless!

If you try upgrading to Metal and find that it offers nothing of value, then want to downgrade back to a normal account, they charge you a £25.98 “break fee” in addition to the £12.99 you already paid to try it. That’s £38.97 with no mention of this “break fee” when you are signing up. These people are scammers - I’m deleting (and reporting) this app. There are much more trustworthy options out there like Curve, and others. DO NOT TRUST THIS APP
* I have been looking into who I need to report Revolut’s conduct to and it turns out that they do not even have a UK Banking License. I am reporting them to the FCA (and also to BBC Watchdog to warn other potential scammed customers).
This company is absolutely useless if you need services past buying bread in Tesco. I don’t see why anyone in their right mind just wouldn’t carry on using a bank with actual support. Save your time and headaches now.
Update. Revolut blocked me sending transactions to my euro account via Sepa, which I had been using for months. They refuse to explain why and left my euros in limbo forcing me to send back to UK bank and missing the transaction window for that day. I had a much better experience with HSBC and even Monzo. Actually caught out ‘customer service’ lying about it by cross referencing agents stories on it. This outfit are literally making it up as they go.
