So I’ve been using this for a few days, and starting to get the hang of cutting, editing, speeding up and slowing down the video clips, as well as laying music over the top.
I found the fade in and fade out buttons for the music, which worked for the first couple of clips (I kept splitting it so it would be in the correct places of the video tutorial) but then it stopped fading and sounds very harsh to start and stop so suddenly.
I closed the app and restarted it thinking that may help...but now, none of the music is fading in and out, despite the fade buttons being on!
It’s very frustrating...editing a video is time consuming enough without having problems like this to deal with.
I can’t see myself continuing on with the membership tbh!
After being set a project to make an economic video highlighting the affects of Covid-19 on the economy, I was in desperate search of a good app that will allow me to upload photos and videos, use my voice as a voiceover, write text and add sounds. I downloaded many apps but none of them satisfied my needs as much as Splice did. It offered so much more than I thought I needed, and it was so easy to use! Splice turned my boring school project into something fun and enjoyable, which helped me produce such a high quality video in the end, and to top it all off, it was free to use!
I will definitely be using Splice in the future, regardless of the small subscription payment required as I can truly say that it’s worth every penny.
So, I’m new to this app and just learnt how to screen record and still learning the ropes of Splice, and KineMaster. So, finishing off my first project I got ready to screen record. I had my music ready, all of the affects etc. I was ready to begin and I noticed the VERY SECOND the screen record began, the word ‘Splice’ appeared EVERYWHERE on the screen!!! Why can’t you just be like KineMaster and put ‘Splice’ in the corner?! It’s very unnecessary as I had put in my title: ‘This is my very first edit on SPLICE!’ Obviously not in capitals... but you get what I mean. I had put it in the title and all the watermarks ruined it!!! I couldn’t even see the text I had put!!! So, that explains my 3 stars.
I’ve been using this app for more than a few years now and really enjoyed making some cool videos. Had no problems with it, made a few videos last month (April 2020) and everything was fine. It had its glitches from time to time but a week ago I log on to make another video & all the features I could once use, I now have to pay for them at a ridiculously expensive price.!
I guess with all the tictok videos & many of them requiring editing, guess Splice saw a way to cash in. Or, maybe I was lucky to have been able to use it for so many years for free. If that’s the case, it’s been great Splice but it’s now time for me to move on.
As a one off purchase, then yeah I’d buy it no problem, in app purchases ? Most likely ..... as a subscription per week based app? Then the answer for me as a former occasional user and no doubt thousands others is no..
The app previously was ok and has some cool functions, to pay per week though ? you’d have to be really into your video making, and honestly, for the majority that are general occasional users it’s not going to be that attractive.
Good luck with it and I hope you make the money you’re after, but you’ve shunned a whole area of the market.
Ok so I’ve been using splice for a while and I’ve loved it, but now there’s a new feature that honestly peed me off. What the new feature does (I’m also not sure if it’s new as I haven’t been on it since about September) is make you buy pro to download your work. Yes, you get a 7 day free trail. But after that, you have to pay to save your work to your phone! There was no need for this feature and for me personally it has ruined the app. Thanks for being a good company, but please please PLEASE change it back so we don’t have to pay to get our work.
This saddens me to write this because I used to love this app, I’ve been using it for years, since it was so great then, I decided to sign up for the subscription but it really let me down and doesn’t compare to what it used to be. First of all it doesn’t let me save any of the videos despite me having enough memory and software updates, is really hard to work with if you add too many things to your videos (photos, videos, music, audio) really disappointed, I have since found a better app and will be deleting this one
As an out of work actor (thanks covid) I wanted to find a way to stay creatively focused during quarantine. I decided to make my own videos and teach myself how to edit.
SPLICE was the first app I downloaded and I couldn’t have done without it.
I’m terrible with technology, but it’s so user friendly and I found my way around the app in no time!
There are loads of brilliant pieces of music, sound effects and transitions to choose from to enhance your video.
Really super, I 100% recommend!
The app is terrible I don’t know how there tech team hasn’t picked up on this major fault
1 the effects cannot be used because as soon as you put is on the video you are editing the speed
Gets really fast and you are un able to edit that Fidel as it messes up and therefore have to start again from scratch this it very frustrating and after putting hours in to the video YOU HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH AGAIN !!
This needs to be sorted because at the moment it’s not worth the money I pay
This was the best video maker on the App Store, now every time I try to share/export something, it says that I need to buy premium to save it to the camera roll. I under stand that premium is for extra stuff like music and effects, but for saving to camera roll, for £8 a week? That’s more expensive then a Netflix subscription.
So yeah, Developers, if you read this, please allow everyone, with or without premium to have their creations saved to their camera rolls.
