Honestly, I can’t begin to fathom how excruciatingly terrible and horrific the customer service at UberEats is. The so called “support” literally wants to make me throw my mobile phone out of the window and cry. I can’t believe the amount of half-assed staff members who are extremely stingy to give refunds in every single situation. Even if the customer is right, and there is legitimate proof to back this up, you will literally not get a refund. You’re probably more likely to get struck by lightning than finding a competent staff member who will actually solve an issue for you without giving you lame automated messages and downright rude attitude. Recently, my partner and I have been asking for a lot of refunds for the food we’ve been ordering. I’m not sure what it is about the area that we live in that the workers literally act as though they are forced to be employed in their workplace and cannot offer their services properly. Unfortunately, this is clearly reflected in the food they serve, and to top that off- you don’t get a refund. Imagine spending £20-£30 on food, waiting a while to receive it and for it to not be satisfactory. You call up UberEats or text them, whatever. All you get is a terrible excuse for customer service and an automated message. Our most recent experience was by far the most comical. We ordered a £30 order from Creams, waited a while to find the whole order completely wrong. Cookie dough literally was melted and the proportion was way off, it wasn’t even cookie dough at that point. It looked like someone dug some mud, slapped it in a cardboard box and drowned it in chocolate. Bought a drink and received the wrong drink, and the waffles didn’t even come at all. Asked Uber for a refund, and surprise surprise even with an image we didn’t get a refund, because Uber is extremely stingy and a company who is clearly hungry for money. Ended up driving and paying £15 altogether for a taxi to drive to the store and get our order remade just because Uber cannot be bothered to do their job. I can’t believe how terrible this company is and I cannot express how much you should stay away from it. There’s absolutely no reason why you should still stay with UberEats after reading an experience as horrific as mine. At this point, I’m really not too sure how they’re legally allowed to still be running after practically scamming half of its users for money. If you want food, go use Deliveroo. The variety may be worse, but anything is better than this.

The only reason I still use UBER is because they have the restaurants I use. But I am losing patience with this company and the rip restaurants under them. I am slowly moving to JUST EAT, at least on that app you can easily read comments that customers actually say about the restaurants. I’ve been having issues with some orders only recently with UBER and basically get kicked in the teeth by Ubers customer service team with: “next time try checking out the restaurant first online before ordering...” ... But I did check Google but COTTONS obviously treat their eat-in customers with better food portions for their money than takeaway customers. They price their food as if they are a gourmet restaurant- THEY ARE NOT GOURMET. UBER you should let customers put photos up when leaving reviews and let customers read other customer reviews NOT just how many ‘stars’ they gave. Try that. Then your customers know exactly the quality to expect from the restaurants they are buying from.

Does charging me multiple times for a single order count as theft? I do wonder. I placed a single order with Uber eats and the app said the order was cancelled and wasn’t processed. I then checked my bank account to make sure nothing went through. So I placed the order again, which went through. However when checking my bank account afterwards I had then been charged 3 times for a single order! I contacted Uber eats and they said only two charges were made and one of them was an “authorisation” which meant I wouldn’t actually have any money taken away. After trying many times to explain I had been charged a third time and money had been taken out of my bank account, all they could say was the same thing... “it’s an authorisation” “check with your bank that it’s not a problem on their end” (it’s not). So again I ask the question... does this count as Uber stealing money from me? Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk and don’t order from Uber.
Estimated delivery times meaningless

It took two delivery attempts and over 2 1/2 hrs to get all of our recent order, despite promised delivery time of 35mins-55mins. The first attempt took 1hr45 and then another 40mins to get the missing/incorrect items. We can tolerate some flexibility at busy times, but i had gone to bed before my whole meal came and wasted my evening trying to get info on when any food would come. There was no update info whatsoever except from calling the restaurant several times and hoping not to get engaged tone. It was suggested we ask for £10 refund via the app, but having wasted more time trying to work out how, discovered the button we needed was not showing so can’t request it....the Uber self help was not helpful, as despite following instructions, the help guidance didn’t correlate with what we saw on our screen. Food was nice, but not worth the wait. Won’t be ordering again in a hurry.

Uber driver “Ali” linked to Uber Harlow that covers McDonald's Staple tye. Awful experience, rude and abusive towards us when we did not receive our order. We attempted to resolve but he blamed us stating the order had been delivered to the correct address. He refused to return to the address he delivered the food to, refused to provide any details of that address even door colour when we challenged him. He just continued to blame us where he then just hung up. Luckily for us we have good neighbours (who were also waiting for a delivery )they realised it wasn’t their order and they knocked on the door with our food. So be warned a very abusive Male who does not check addresses and will not attempt to solve any issues or mistakes that he clearly makes. Also reported direct to a McDonald’s due to how abusive he was.
Great app, slight annoyance

Firstly, love UberEats! Saves me so much time when I want a lazy day. I have a slight issue that I can’t resolve no matter what I do. I live in an apartment block and the location services on my phone puts my pin two streets away, i’ve manually adjusted this to the correct location but then when i order, it puts the pin the wrong place again. This is causing the delivery drivers to go to the wrong place (they realise this when they get there and come to the correct place). It’s just annoying that I can’t order and then put my phone down and wait for the food. I have to keep checking up on the driver to see if they’ve realised or not. This has been ongoing for a while now. I understand it’s down to my phone, but it’d be nice for the manual adjustment to not reset each time I order.
Slow and complicated

Usually use just eat but only downloaded due to a promo code. Hardly any services in our area are registered so choice is limited. The app seems to be really slow and long winded to use. The order we got was disappointing, unable to leave a review or figure out how to do this!? The order is still open saying ‘your order is on it’s way’ unable to close the order. Also can’t view reviews for other restaurants? Additionally app keeps crashing and have to close and re open. Will be keeping the app encase of improvements but won’t be using the service again any time soon!

I ordered a huge meal and unfortunately one large item was missed off the delivery, the item alone was around £10 in value. When I flagged the item as missing they just sent a short email stating that they had just decided to not give a refund. The only reason they had given was that three months ago I had asked for a refund on one item that had also been missing from an order and according to them items just don’t go missing that often. Use another service or call the restaurant direct, Uber eats will treat you as poorly as they treat their drivers.

Used to love Uber eats, their were always good discounts and it was well worth it. Now they have started charging ridiculous amounts just for the service. £2.90 service charge for a pizza? No thanks. When you add on the cost for delivery as-well it’s a total rip of. They have also stopped sending me discount codes the more I have used this app. My friend who hardly uses Uber eats regularly gets 30% off codes. No reward for loyalty so I have switched to Deliveroo who only charge a small service fee.

What is wrong with Uber? Well I will tell you. They are liars and cheats. They send you an email saying £15 off of your order over £15 when you order by “clicking here” on the email they don’t apply the discount!! that makes them liars this has happen twice the first time I gave them the benefit of doubt the 2nd time is too far. The company is rubbish but the drivers are great they care about their jobs but the company don’t. Uber.. liars and cheaters take my word for it.
