Use Deliveroo instead

Honestly the worst experience with a company I have ever, ever had. I tried to place an order but every time I tried the app kept glitching and saying it was unable to place the order at that time. So I gave up and went over to deliveroo, never having confirmed the order with ubereats. About 20 minutes later I get a completely out of the blue notification from ubereats saying my delivery was on its way - this was AFTER already having placed a separate order on Deliveroo instead and not receiving a SINGLE other notification from ubereats about this. Before I even had time to contact customer service to explain, the delivery man showed up. I explained the situation to him and he explicitly told me that I didn’t have to accept the delivery and would be refunded - so I agreed to do that. Sending him away with the food. Of course, a few mins later I get a notification saying the delivery has been completed and sent my receipt, charging full amount. I of course contacted customer service straight away and got the standard copy and paste response saying they couldn’t help me at this time. I have tried to keep contacting them since then and have been entirely ignored. Literally the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER EVER HAD. App didn’t work, lied to be the delivery driver and then IGNORED by customer service. What is the point in having customer service at all?? Safe to say I will not only be deleting ubereats, but uber too. I want nothing more to do with a company that treats their customers like filth.
Bad first experience

First order, despite the discount voucher left with bad experience due to issues with the app. The trouble with the Apple app started right from the signup stage where it locked itself in portrait mode on iPad but the keyboard was locked in Landscape and was a challenge to even type the mobile number. But the main issue was when the restaurant ran out of an side dish from the order and changed it. I didn’t had any issues with it, I got a notification to respond within 10 minutes else it would be cancelled. But only UberEats app didn’t give me an option or visibility of what order changes that restaurant made. I looked at the help which was useless and only suggested calling the restaurant which I did. but it seems the app kept telling the restaurant that customer had to respond within 10 minutes which I couldn’t. Eventually the only option was for the restaurant to cancel the order and place it again with missing side item. Also Ive found the prices of my regular restaurants overly hipped in Uber in addition to their service and delivery charges. Additionally the delivery charges are illogical as two restaurants next to each other on same street and post code where being charged different delivery fee!?
Avoid! Automatic system and processes. Fake security

All in all, lots of trouble with the app as there is absolutely no customer service available to make complaints, have a refund for non delivery. Also tjere are missing security processes to check a live order and whether there is stock for the item you ordered. the restaurants automatically accept delivery while they are either not open or they don’t have the items ordered. They don’t follow up with you and there is literally no option in the app to contact the restaurant directly. This app is an automatic one without any security for the customers. AVOID!!!! UPDATE: further pain with the app is that it is absolutely joined with Uber Ride, and so I cannot use one or the other, independently from each other. I sent a request in this regard through the app to the “customer service” but it turns out Uner is hiring people for customer service who cannot speak English and so they don’t understand my request.
Terrible app

Never used this app before, decided to start one up cos of the current pandemic situation, straight away it was a horrible experience. Put in my number (remember I’ve never used this app before) said my account was deactivated?!? Wtf?! Never had an account. Okay, so I followed instructions and sent an email, got a reply saying I had to send them a photo of my phone number. I sent the requested photo, then days later I got an email saying I had to reply from my activated account!!! Remember I never had an account! Basically terrible customer service, still haven’t heard back and it’s been 4 days since my last reply saying, I didn’t have an account and why this process is so hard to set up just to order some food! Never had any issues with most apps but will use better apps like deliveroo or justeat. Wish I could’ve left ZERO stars which is what they deserve
Great app, slight annoyance

Firstly, love UberEats! Saves me so much time when I want a lazy day. I have a slight issue that I can’t resolve no matter what I do. I live in an apartment block and the location services on my phone puts my pin two streets away, i’ve manually adjusted this to the correct location but then when i order, it puts the pin the wrong place again. This is causing the delivery drivers to go to the wrong place (they realise this when they get there and come to the correct place). It’s just annoying that I can’t order and then put my phone down and wait for the food. I have to keep checking up on the driver to see if they’ve realised or not. This has been ongoing for a while now. I understand it’s down to my phone, but it’d be nice for the manual adjustment to not reset each time I order.
Do not care about customers being scammed so long as they get to keep their money

Ordered a meal with the 50% voucher, meal never came. Looked up restaurant on google and saw a lot of people had the same issue and Uber refused to give them and myself a refund (stating that because I’ve reported an item missing from an order in the past is proof that I am “frauding” then when I legit paid for and did not receive said item). Honestly avoid them at all costs - ubereats don’t care about their customers only getting more money and don’t ban restaurants that scam their customers from their platform/refuse to look into it. It’s shocking. I think it’s time to go back to ordering from restaurants directly or using just eat if needs be, it’s time to cut out the middle men that just do not care so long as they make a profit.

I always used Ubereats but have lately been experiencing issues with their GPS. The drivers can never find my address even though I live on a main obvious road - please update your GPS!!! But more annoyingly recently, when you go to place an order, you used to be able to select the card you want to make the payment with. Now you no longer have the option and it takes money from a random card. I understand there is an option to raise a ticket for the monies to be taken from the card or your choosing after a delivery has been ordered, but that’s hassle for the customer. Twice they have taken money from the wrong account and it’s putting me off using this app more because of it. Please please fix this issue!!!!
Poor customer service

Pretty poor customer service all in all, if you order something and it arrives with bits of the order missing the blame game just starts and the shop will blame Uber eats and Uber eats blame the shop and you just go round and round. Yeh I mean thanks for refunding me the part of the order that’s missing but you completely ruined the meal, so now my partner has no food and I do so what now, I got no replacement and no matter what you do the meal is ruined. I defo recommend using a different website or service, there are way better out there with way better customer service. Will not be using again, you also haven’t replied to my email so once again you are just showing how little you care for your customers
Delivery through Uber

I ordered food through Uber eats at 8.15, it said estimated time 9.10-9.30, I waited till 9.30 and called them they said the driver just left with the food. So I called again at 9.45 because I hadn’t received my food yet and the manager said the orders not come through and it was Uber’s mistake , after 15 minutes on the phone he says the order has just come through now. No apology was given and then he said food should arrive after 10 mins but it took 30 minutes. I received the food at 10.30 and delivery driver apologised and said he’s had several similar complaints. I will not be going back there again. This was my first time ordering through Uber eats and not sure if I will use them again.
Appalling customer support

If there was a lower rating than one star I would have selected that ! I ordered regularly and put up with the many missing items almost every time but when the whole order didn’t arrive and after being directed to contact the delivery person - who had his phone switched off - and then told by Ubers automated support system that they were refusing to refund me and didn’t even offer to fulfil the order that was the final straw!. When I did find a phone number i had to sit on the phone going through options for 5 minutes before being directed back to the automated online support system and the phone call terminated . So basically Uber has stolen £15 from my account and I’m furious!
