Terrible, and their subscription is a scam
Nonbog on 2023-02-06
Spent lots of money on this app because my partner is disabled so sometimes it’s easier to get food by delivery. Even subscribed to their Uber Eats premium, which included a guarantee I’d get credit on my account if the order came later than their guarantee. Well, when I made an order once, it took a hours to come. I got onto their support and asked about it. They said to wait another hour. I did this, and then contacted them back. They said it might be a few more hours. There were two problems: one, the restaurant had already finished making my food hours ago (according to customer services and the info on the app), and two, everywhere else was soon to shut. I got frustrated and asked them for a refund, since it seemed clear my food was not coming and I was worried I would miss anywhere else. They refused this multiple times because the food was already made, and kept asking if I was satisfied, then closing my customer support request despite me answering that I wasn’t. Eventually, they refunded it because the restaurant closed. This also meant I couldn’t have dinner, because everywhere else was shut. I asked if this meant I’d get credit for them failing to meet their guarantee. They said they couldn’t help with that, speak to the subscription team. Well, I’ve sent multiple emails and had no reply. I cancelled my Uber subscription and I strongly advise everybody to use Deliveroo instead, which is often cheaper and has far better accountability and customer service. As far as I’m concerned, Uber Eats is a scam, which literally broke the terms and conditions of their own subscription with me. Disgusting from such a large company. Stay away.
Service disgraceful
Simmouk on 2023-02-06
The app is ok but the service behind it is a complete unmitigated disgrace. I’ve ordered three times: 1st: UK: they delivered someone else meal and refused to sort it until I had to complain to my bank and get them to threaten Uber Eats. It took 2 weeks to be refunded and my kids missed the treat meal we attempted to have. 2nd: Portugal: the driver couldn't find the apartment resulting in me having to walk down a main road in the pouring rain to find him. This was despite the apartment being clearly listed on all major map platforms. 3rd: UK: We thought one last chance. The first driver failed to turn up, stealing the food. Pizza Express had to resend with another Uber Eats driver. Result being food was nearly an hour late and cold. We will never use these incompetent morons again.
They used to deliver to the door

On more than one occasion, I have told the delivery driver to just put the food in the bin. If I was able to go to the takeaway place myself I would go I would not call for takeout. Now that I am fully recovered I will insure to delete Uber Eats from my phone. The reason why I have told him to put the food in the bin it’s because on a few occasions, the delivery driver has become aggressive and told me that he is busy. Now I am back to full health and able to defend myself again I would like to see somebody tried and affection I think it’s disgusting behaviour to place an order for somebody to send me a message telling me that they are busy am I not paying for a service?
Criminally stonewalled
ApplesauceMike on 2023-02-06
This app offers no way to realistically convey issues. Just a very vague list of a few ‘issues’ which could be encountered, then if you select the issue is not on the list it comes up with a generic unhelpful FAQ then at the bottom of that page there is ‘do you still need help?’ If you select yes then it diverts you back to the original list of issues and the cycle continues. You can only select ONE issue, despite my order having several. They offer you a 70p refund for a cold and stale order worth £15 and stonewall you. Equatable to theft and surely this does not comply with trading standards. You’re better off with justeat

Order over delayed, the driver on his bicycle had so many stops on the way carrying my pizza for over 30 mins. At some point he seemed lost, I opened a chat with the customer service to find out updates. Silence for a bit, the order got suddenly cancelled from their side and the agent on the chat says “I saw the order was cancelled, is there anything else I can do for you?”. Really? You can get me the food I’ve waited for over an hour! Or at least say that you are sorry and explain what happened, the food was still with the guy! Ridiculous driver but even worse customer service.

I ordered from mcdonald’s this morning and got a mcdonald’s breakfast for myself, my dad and my brother. Mine and my brothers order was delicious but my dad ordered a sausage and egg mcmuffin with no egg and additional bacon. In my opinion, isn’t to hard to make. We got our food 2 of our hash browns were missing because we ordered 4 1 each with our meals and an extra one because why not and my dad got 2 patties in his balm with no bacon whatsoever ever. Spent £25 on this and we are absolutely fuming. Will not order again! Terrible service aswell.

Order once, get 100 notifications in the next 5 hours. It'll start off nice, with lots of promotions for new users, and that's how they hook you in. Then when you start to order less frequently, they nudge you with endless notification. I just had a full meal, and in the next 30 minutes they sent promotions: "order now to get 1 free" etc. Is their algorithm trying to make me obese and broke at the same time? If you want to have a nice, hassle free meal after a long day of work, just call a restaurant directly.
Don’t trust

I have made an order and the delivery guy didn’t showed up and marked my ordered as delivered. I tried every possible way to contact him and to get help from the Uber. Only some options was left either to claim a refund or to repeat the order. I have been waiting for that as I promised to my kids and they we’re waiting for it come. It’s so disappointing and frustrating from such a service that there no option for a customer service . This isn’t the first time that I am receiving a bad experience from Uber .
Terrible support
gabconst on 2023-02-06
I had a bad experience with a delivery driver who left the order somewhere else - that can happen on any app, though. However, their support was absolutely unhelpful - I reported the problem several times (could not reach them in any phone), they only sent me an email asking for a clarification and nothing happened even a day later. When using competitors, I solved such issues within 15 minutes, with my funds being returned as credit immediately. Assume there is no support if anything happens.
