I have been with Uber for just under a year. Within the year my account has been put on hold a no. Of times for days/weeks for silly reason that could very easily be resolved through simple communication.
Bearing in mind that I’m not working until the issue is resolved with back and forth messages with a no. Of different operators for the same issue!!
No one is clear with instructions to direct you in a manner where issues can be resolved quickly and efficiently.
I had a substitute on my account with a car and car insurance.
Every time I would take a photo of my driving license card For some reason my id kept showing ID NOT MATCHING.
So I thought may be because of insurance documents they may want my substitute ID. (That’s why it may have come on red alert!)
It went through as ok and then a few days later the name on account had changed to my substitute name.
So I messaged back to explain. After a no. Of messages were exchanged and days of messing around AND account being on HOLD finally someone explained things clearly and the ID was changed back to my driving license!!!! All the confusion was cleared up!! This was a very frustrating experience!
After a few months have gone by Uber have now switched my account off totally as they think I have been misusing the app doing FRAUDULENT activities using the two ID’S.
This is a very serious accusation to make specially if there has been no communication regarding the matter and knowing that the other ID was the substitute that was registered TO THEM!
I have been told the account is NOT going to be opened and the decision is FINAL.
I have sent messages back to tell them it has NOT been a FAIR decision and they need to look into all the previous messages to know WHY and HOW!!!! this has happened...
To tell them this was cleared a couple of months ago and how unfair they have been knowing the FAULT is from their part with the POOR communication!!!!!
I have been PENALISED for the fault of poor communication and understanding of Uber operators! THIS WAS NO FAULT OF MY OWN!!
THIS WAS MY SOURCE OF INCOME!!!!
Hope whoever built this farce can sleep at night knowing your ruining people’s lives!!!!

I used to love using this app but recently it has become shocking, first of all I get charged for trips I haven’t even made as the driver cancelled them? How is that ok to do, then when I ring up to resolve the fact they have not only took payment for this trip they then take it twice? I finally got this refunded after an hour of arguing over the phone to the customer service! a week or so after me and my partner decided to give them a try again however this was a BIG mistake the driver accepted the trip to them message us saying we’re too far? Why accept the trip to begin with and to top it all off he wanted us to cancel the trip!! Knowing fully well we would be charged for that, the driver then began to argue with us as we said we was not cancelling the trip as he knows it charges and that he should cancel it as he shouldn’t accept the trip in the first place. He began to then drive further away from where we was with shocking attitude! i began to try and ring the driver and all he did was hang up!! How can you as a massive company allow drivers like this? I have deleted all forms of this app and so has my partner as we are beyond shocked with the behaviour of some of the drivers within this company, I will not ever be using this app again and I will also be informing family and friends to not use them too, I’ll be sticking to the good old taxi company’s from now on.
The driver wasn’t picking up, and never arrived at our pick up point. After 20mins total waiting, the Uber was automatically cancelled and they assigned a new Uber driver to us. In total, we waited for 3 different drivers until the last one actually picked us up and drove us. By then, the ice cream had already melted. They tried to charge me for the “cancelled trips”, before crediting me when I complained. The first driver was also dishonest, and said that he had completed part of the trip, when I had never even met the guy.
Another time, tried to get an Uber pool. We walked over to the meeting point, got into the car, and Uber had cancelled our trip. The driver told us to try and rebook, hoping that we’d get him again, but they reassigned us to a different driver. The trip was automatically cancelled and rebooked multiple times, sending us all over the area, until we finally ended up getting the original driver again, where we originally had been.
All of the above happening in central London with an abundance of drivers.
All in all, extremely unreliable. Too many bad experiences and service to constitute the slightly lower price in comparison to other drivers.
Really frustratingly disappointed so I finished work at 10pm last night and Uber can’t use my bank card all of a sudden so I had to get my partner to book me one, when it arrived I kindly asked the driver if he could wait 5minutes as the member of staff taking over from me hadn’t arrived yet, he said yes no problem I’ll wait. So at 10:06pm as soon as they arrive the Uber driver leaves and charges me approx £5 and messages sorry but I was waiting for ten minutes. So Uber charged me for a taxi I never got in, and I had to walk 40minutes home when if my Uber driver waited 1more minute I could’ve got home in 15 minutes. My partner put a message on his app saying he hadn’t had the taxi and wants a refund and Uber messaged back he’d get a refund but it would take up to an hour, the next morning still no refund. Personally I think ubers services are appalling how you can just take money out of people accounts when they never got to use the service is a joke and saying you’ll give a refund then never do is exploitation as you app is impossible to speak to an actual person it just daylight robbery. Will never use or advise anyone to use this service.
I booked a trip. Car 4min away. Nothing happened. He stood still. I tried to contact the driver but the app would not give me his number. When I finally cancelled it gives me a cancellation fee. Without asking why I cancelled (Bolt asks for the reason...).
Since I had already wasted 15min on this I tried to book a new trip. And accepted to pay the cancellation fee. It then won’t accept me to pay this cash to the next driver. Meaning I can’t book a new transport.
I then have to spend the next 15min trying to figure out how to fix this on the uber homepage. The app won’t let you log issues. 30min down the line the fee has been removed. Why make it so difficult to use you???
And your support is awful. First you have to find the support request form. Fill it out. Verify it. To receive an email with the request. And then being asked to provide exactly the same information again...
Booked a 6 seater, app kept saying “2 mins away” for a long time.
Out of nowhere, the booking was cancelled because apparently the the driver waited for 8 minutes.
This is absolutely not true.
Myself, my wife, my 2 year old and 4 year old were outside the whole time waiting and waiting and waiting.
Contacted Uber via phone. They said just book another journey. Problem was we didn’t have more money in the card as it was a temporary card for the UK.
Myself, wife, 2 year old and 4 year old were left freezing outside in 2 degrees, Uber call center manager not wanting to send another car for us.
Absolutely disgusting. Liar drivers, horrible Uber service. Deleted the app, never will I use again.
I always have used Uber for work and for personal reason. On the 2nd February i went out for work dinner and I was waiting for the uber car for more than 20 minutes after midnight on the road in am aerea that I didn’t know.The drivers were continuously changing who was dropping the ride at one point i cancelled coz i had enough and you guys charged me £6 of cancellation fee. I would understand the driver was waiting there for me and then i cancelled..after 5 mins of my cancellation i ordered another one and the driver was different and came straight way so i still used uber and paid but i think its not fair paying a fee for being waiting alone in the night on the road for 20 mins.No Way!
They continue to fail to resolve problems both in payment updates and basic admin security. My account was accidentally linked to somebody else's and there's no option to report it or resolve it. I get repeated credit card failures for no reason and family members have to unexpectedly pay past charges which are undeclared - the app & customer service is one of the worst in the tech world. If I had a choice, I would never use Uber again - but they have a monopoly.
This is 3rd update in 1 month. I have had no personalised support yet despite repeated app failures & serious security glitches.
Drivers are forever accepting fares so nobody else takes the fare. Then when on the way, even if close and they get another fare opportunity pop up that’s a great value they cancel they are coming and go somewhere else. Once they accept a fare that should be it. We don’t book multiple rides with different companies and just jump in the first to arrive and leave the others without a ride. So why should they be allowed to do that to us. Plus they charge a premium for their service and it’s sub par. I’m going back to a traditional taxi service! Poor poor poor. If I could give zero stars I would!
I have video evidence on my instragram _coby.n_ of my driver driving further away from the meet up point only for them to cancel on me despite me waiting for more than 30 minutes and then Uber took the money out of my bank account, whilst giving me a notification saying that *I* wasn’t able to meet my driver so they had to charge me. When I disputed this they could only credited my Uber account and not refund the money that was taken from my bank account. Why would I want credit after receiving such abysmal service. Won’t be using Uber ever again.
