I can’t describe how mad I am! And here is my story why...
I had my wedding this August. Due to COVID, we had to had Zoom ceremony. This is the only point, where I’d like to say “thank you, Zoom! You made our close people be with us”
Then all problems come.
When I hosted the meeting, I did it from my iPhone and zoom application. I’ve created an account using my Apple account (I could do so, nothing prevented). But when I wanted to download the record of my meeting (as a memory of the event) I could not find it in the app... I though, ok, I’ll try to find in web version? And here is the Hell!!!
I can’t sign in with my Apple account, because there is no option to do so (even if I have MacBook). When I choose ‘forgot password’ I receive an email stating : sign in with your Apple account (whaaaaat????). Vicious circle... I remind you, there is no option to sign with Apple account in web version! Zero
Contact support... I’m not a supporter of chat bots, usually my communication ends with “give me a live person”. It is absolutely useless. Zoom bot is not an execution, unfort.
Bot requests host key... there is no host key mentioned in the app. I believe it can be found in web version, not in app...
The only thing I need is to get my video. The rest I’m ready to forgive or close my eyes.
P.S. zoom, I know it’s difficult to satisfy all customers demands with cost cutting and current crisis... but, please, be humane! You are a really good service, you will definitely prosper in future, but do not forget about your customers.
ZOOM has enabled me to take part in various Groups - this has meant that
a) I have been part of and learnt from a huge, online Choir
b) this has enabled me to be part of our online Church in preparation for when we started to meet up physically again a few weeks ago.
c) when you're part of a zoom mtg, it doesn't matter WHERE you live, you are ALL together. We live in Cumbria and the majority of the people in the Group I am part of, live in Barrow, more than 40 minutes drive away! Similarly, my husband is part of a Group who live in PORTSMOUTH, several hours drive away!
ZOOM brings you together with people who you wouldn't normally be part of, due to the locations of WHERE YOU/or I LIVE! AMAZING!!!
I have had issues where I can't even get into a password protected meeting three times despite the password and meeting ID definitely being correct.
And sometimes when I go on to another app then come back, zoom freezes for a few seconds then the noises of the people with their microphones on go really fast until it gets to wherever they are in real life.
Also when there's a lot of people and they're reciting something together at the same time you can only hear two people at a time and there are always two DIFFERENT people are talking so it sounds horrible and it's hard to understand.
There are much better options than zoom out there.
Absolutely love this app. Unfortunately it’s not intuitive and would suggest some simple instructions about setting it up for “techie Dummies” would be extremely helpful. Most of the instructors are speaking at a rate of knots to a ‘techie savvy’ audience so the uninitiated have given up before the presentations have finished. I am finding myself spending more time helping people sort out their basic set up before I can have a meeting e.g. half an hour this morning, which can leave other people feeling frustrated at the unproductive use of time. Please could Zoom inc.set up some basic instructions for beginners!
Thanks for asking.
I like what you guys are doing but I have to be critical with the way you help people. Firstly I cannot find a phone number anywhere to contact you for when things go wrong .
I have problems frequently getting connected to meetings and often cannot communicate wit the host. In recent days I emailed twice giving specific details of my problems but nobody has answered so I’m wondering if you guys really care.
I’m gonna wait and if someone will read this and now that you’ve got my email address will wait to see if you’ll contact me.
The ball is well and truly in your court.
This app is really good because you can call friends and anyone but you need the code to join that call what you want to join. Another reason why it’s good is because you can set up a meeting if you were to talk with your boss outside of that job and you were of work. Your boss could want to talk with you and set up a meeting to talk with you and go through what happened that day. The third reason why it’s good is that you can set up a meeting whenever you want to.
I’m sure many of Jehovah’s witnesses, have commented we are finding our zoom meetings really encouraging. It’s important for me and my family to regularly enjoy fellowship. Zoom is by far the best app to enable me to do this . So I would like to take this opportunity to thank you. Which is why I’ve given you a 5 star rating. Cov19 has certainly changed life for us all but now we can enjoy a bit of normality.
Kind regards Leigh
I think zoom is a really great app because you can meet up with lots of people no matter where they are especially during Covid-19. The only problem I have with it is that is have a problem with signing up. Whenever I try to put in my date of birth it say that “ you are not eligible for zoom” . Even though I put in an eligible date.
Over all zoom is an amazing app but I would love for this problem to be looked over.
When I first used this app I was using it on my phone with a set of headphones and it was pretty dreadful. It took me a while to get the hang of the various tools and there was a lot of whistling, loss of sound, freezing, delays and even losing connection. However since then I have used it on a tablet and have found it to be much more successful. My theatre group has been using it to rehearse and it works very well.
Zooming is quite good experience I would never learn until the lockdown it has some issues with Zooming specially when you’re partly cited or
Blind when you change over to go into room touch only a blue button but if you’re partly cited I’m blind and can’t see this person so it should also talk to you or make a noise so you can touch it or describe where it is so you can touch it apart from that doing is quite good
