This app is great. It helps me sleep it helps a lot of other people sleep as well. A lot of people are saying “I think the app is a scam” but their WRONG. They say that but they never say they actually don’t like the app. I mean they say it’s bad but they never say they really used the app at all. Like if your going to download an app use it! Don’t just download it then not care. but the subscription is 70$ that’s EXPENSIVE. Sure it does give you a lot of stuff but that’s expensive. It is per year though and not month. The reason I don’t give it four stars is because this app is fantastic. It helps you sleep and it lets you think and talk about your day, family, what you thankful for, and much much more. And they need the money. This part is to the people who don’t care how good it is just about how much it costs. THEY NEED THE MONEY. First of all they need it to get people to voice the sleep stories and other things. Second of all it’s expensive to make an app especially one that is as amazing as calm. Third of all they need the money to advertise the app so more people get it. And if more people use it and buy the subscription the price might go down because more people are paying it. And last but definitely not least (all of the reasons are important) they need the money to expand the app and add more to this amazing sleep experience. AND that’s all about the subscription if your not subscribed it’s still great for sleeping. So that’s why I rated it five stars this app is great I would recommend it if your having trouble sleeping. It also helps you make a sleep schedule. And that’s just talking about sleep because that’s what I use it for but it could be use for day time. For example you can use it to meditate and much more helpful activities. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would recommend.
Great content hidden in a frustrating app As a lifetime subscriber and longtime evangelist, I hate giving Calm a low rating. To say it has changed my life would be an understatement. But as its content library has grown, the app layout has made it harder and harder to use.
Today I had a rough day at work. I had a few minutes between activities and thought it would be good to sit for 10-15 minutes meditation. Today’s Daily Calm topic didn’t fit the bill. So I went looking.
I tapped into the Anxiety tab and instantly felt anxious. The choices were overwhelming, not laid out in any pattern I could see, and some didn’t seem on topic (“Get Energized,” for example). It’s the same for all the other sections; a presentation that makes decisions difficult and puts barriers between Calm’s users and Calm’s amazing content. I closed the app and just went back to work.
It hit me then… the app was making it harder, not easier, for me to gain a sense of calm.
Which is a shame because I can see the care that went into this design. It’s clearly intended to surface sessions users might not have found on their own. Those design decisions themselves seem to acknowledge the app bloat, and are trying to help. Sadly, Calm needs more than care, good intentions and great content; it needs a ground-up redesign or it will just keep getting more and more difficult for users to find their calm.
Calm app is great for reframing brain and bodyJudy N, Berkeley, CAon2024-03-09 I appreciate the short daily meditations which quickly and easily change my brain’s focus, stress level, and teach me in minutes how to create positive energy and relaxation in my my body in as little as 7-10 minutes in the morning.
The teachers use science and their many years of hands-on teaching and interesting real life examples to make the short sessions fun, interesting and impactful. Free library of speakers including recognizable persons such as Matthew Maconaughy, LeBron James as well as other international speakers.
The subscription is a goldmine for less than $6 for a month with a one year purchase. Cheaper than an exercise membership or therapy consultation and produces immediate results. Highly recommended.
You’re pathetic for trying to use a scientific classification of noise by comparing it to the visual light spectrum.
Green noise = the noise of green plants? What a joke. It just goes to show your developers and marketing team doesn’t really care about the nature of sound and how it is represented across other senses. Black noise, pink noise, white noise. They all directly correlate to the color spectrum represented by the noise. Green? A marketing tactic specifically detracting from this by attempting to make some parallelism to hip eco-friendly lingo. And that’s so sad to see. What a line to cross. What a level of corporate greed to appease while sacrificing any scientific accountability.
Audio issues on iPad version, great app overall The iPad version has several audio issues, particularly when in use with AirPods. Audio sometimes begins playing at max volume upon initial connection (despite volume showing a lower level), pause/play function is inconsistent or becomes unavailable after long pauses, and app/audio is glitchy when audio switches back to iPad or Calm app when AirPods temporarily switch to another device or app. These issues detract from the tranquility otherwise offered by the app. Apart from these persistent issues, I can only echo other reviewers praising this app generally. Would love to see a fix for the iPad audio issues.
I’m probably not following you properly. I take the opportunity that the CALM break gives me to work on a physical problem. Somehow I injured my neck a number of months ago to the point that I haven’t been able to look as far left or right as I used to. Not good for driving a car. My doctor has me dedicating about 10 minute at least 3 times during the day massaging my neck using a stainless steel ball device that is kept frozen. Very relaxing but the concentration during your presentation is on the massage and not entirely on what your trying to get me to do. But finally I am doing something about it.
Good content, too many surveysbrian.mcgroartyon2024-03-04 The meditation sessions are nice, but it badgers you with a survey at the end of each. You can’t even tap to skip it right away because they added this slow transition animation to it. Even if you switch away from the app, the “check in” survey is still waiting the next day when you launch it. There isn’t an option to remove it, even as a paid customer. The only option seems to be force-quitting the app after every single use. It’s unfortunate to have to either start or end each session with a frustrating UI interaction… it kinda runs counter to the app’s name.
Need more narrator optionsScandaloushagon2024-03-03 I bought the premium subscription not knowing that MOST of the narration was done by the same woman without any other options. Her voice is SO grating to me. I literally snatched my Bose EarPods out of my ear within the first few seconds of her speaking because she has really high pitch. Then I wasted 20 mins NOT MEDITATING by going on a google search for ways to filter her out altogether. Spoiler alert: you can’t. So I’m stuck with an app that I mostly hate for another 11 months. Definitely will not be renewing!
My opinion of Calmhenslay28097214on2024-03-18 Calm is a great app to get rest. You can use it to just calm down from stress or anxiety or if you have a migraine or you can’t fall asleep, Calm is the best app you could use to help that. I use this app almost every night and I fall asleep so quick. My personal favorite is Mama Bear or Papa Bear. If you are thinking about getting this app but you are hesitating, say no more! Just go ahead and get it! It’s not a waste of money at all! Just go ahead and click that download button! I hope you enjoy Calm!
