Love the app, needs a playlist I love this app. I get a premium subscription through my health insurance but if I didn’t I would still buy the lifetime subscription. I use it that much.
Everyday I use the guided meditation and I use the focus music to get work done and the sleep stories to help me sleep when I’m traveling. I play a meditation while I’m at the dentist, or donating blood. This app is a big part of my life.
For years I have been asking for a playlist feature. Not something that’s curated by Calm but a full-fledged playlist that I can load myself with different content. Sometimes I can’t sleep after just one story and I have to roll over and find my phone and put on another one, which just defeats the purpose of trying to fall asleep.
What I need is to create my own playlist. I would start with a meditation, followed by a story or two, then some music, and maybe end with an infinite sleep music or a soundscape.
I don’t want this curated by someone else. I select the content I want to hear based on my feelings at the time, you can’t emulate that.
The last time I wrote in your support person said this feature was coming, but there have been many updates since then and no playlist feature.
Honestly it seems like a big gap and should have been something added right from the start.
Any plans to add a playlist feature?
Honestly this app is great, it’s helped me go to sleep a lot earlier and stay asleep throughout the night. My issue with this app however, is that everything is locked. There are a few soundscapes and such that non premium members can listen to but overall they aren’t the best. I understand that the company has to make money somehow, but I think it’s unfair to the people not able or willing to pay $70 a year that they get almost nothing. It’s frustrating when there is a story or a meditation I'm really interested in and I can’t even listen to a little bit of it because it’s only for premium members. Not to mention that non paying members don’t even get 30% access to the all of the things in the sleep category, I went and looked through everything and honestly it was more disappointing then I thought it would be.
This app has been life-changing. I started using it a year ago. It has inspired a journey exploring my self-worth and addiction to perfection, which in turn inspired me to pursue happiness and gratitude. The master classes are my absolute favorite. Tamara Levitt’s class on gratitude and Shawn Achor’s on happiness are ones I listen to each week. I have made huge changes in my life because of what I have learned this year. I am truly happier than I have ever been because I have learned that my perspective determines 90% of my happiness. I am so grateful that Calm and California Teacher’s Association have partnered together to make this free to educators. It is a huge blessing in my life that ripples out to others.
This is the best meditation app I have been using this app for over four years and it amazes me it’s quality. This app works so hard to be the most helpful it possibly can and they’re adding new things. Every update like recently they added journeys, which is like supposed to help you achieve your goals, and they also have stories for kids and adults to help you sleep there’s so many meditations and overall this is a great app. I only have one complaint is that the stories have been coming out a lot slower lately like even only like once every two months, which is very sad to me, but otherwise you should definitely download this app because it is the best, you’re finally over. This is the best meditation app to get.
Taking time to be in touch with yourself The Calm app is so wonderful for someone like me. My mind is so busy and frantic. I have trouble quieting it on my own. To have access to all the different types of guidance Calm offers is a miracle in my life. I used it for free for about a year and was so grateful for the gifts of wellbeing it brought into my life that I actually wanted to support it or finance it. It felt good to actually pay for it! I also feel that it is becoming more expansive and giving as a service. It’s almost as if it is growing in its ability to feel the needs of the people using the app. I feel a great sense of commitment to Calm and to myself through growing with it. Thank you, Calm
Airplay will not open - Memory mgmt problems? I become frustrated every single day with this poorly built app….just as I’m launching it on my recent iPad to help me go to sleep. I cast my audio apps to speakers using Airplay. Spotify, Pandora, etc. work flawlessly. Not Calm. Most times Airplay will not open (the icon does not appear in upper right corner). The only work around I have found is to close all apps running in the background, including Calm and then re-open Calm by itself. Sometimes even this does not work. It annoys me enough that I will not renew my Calm Premium subscription if it is not fixed. There is plenty of content available elsewhere.
High Quality App with Very Diverse Content I have been using the Calm App for two years now and love it. The quality of the app is excellent. The content is excellent too. One thing I like is that there are multiple people narrating the guided meditations. Some apps use the same person for all so if their voice or tone doesn’t appeal to you, you have no options. That’s not the case with Calm. I also love how there is continuously new content. I purchased this at a discount through my company…highly encourage other companies to negotiate discounted rates to support their employees’ mental health.
Greetings Calm Community,
Since The Pan-Change “Pandemic” I have shifted heavy to piano music, heavy on listener of the year, heavy on grievances an how to implement healthy ways to help others an not just me. I am heavy on Love” and M.E “medical and education “! Thank you for inspiring this community an the leaders that help shape our love for change. I always loved this app! Soon as I saw this app available for Morehouse School of Medicine this is a benefit, a gift, a hug, an this helps change the way leaders feel about who’s in their communities.
Can’t sleep without it.NoWeatherHereon2024-05-03 The Calm app has become an absolute necessity for me. I started using it about 2 years ago when I was having bouts of insomnia. I don’t even remember how I came across the app but I have used it every night since I listened to the first sleep story. I can’t imagine trying to sleep without it. There is something for everyone with this app but my favorite and must haves are the sleep stories. I occasionally use meditation and that is quite varied and interesting as well. I can do without a lot of things but I am never giving up CALM.
I was grieving for a family member when I turned to Calm for some support. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that there are Grief Meditation series’s available ❤️ I shared these with my family because I found real support and encouragement from these! Lama Ron Owens was amazing.
Jeff Warren has the best meditation series. It’s so laid back, there is no “wrong” way to do meditation.
I will be forever grateful for Calm before and during the Pandemic.
Thank you all for what you do. 🙏
