I can’t say enough good things about Aaptiv. I used to just search for workouts online or simply make it up as I went at the gym. Once I got Aaptiv, my workouts were so much more focused and effective. I love the diversity of types of workouts (treadmill, outdoor running, elliptical, strength, stretching, and so much more!!) so I can have plenty of options for my mood or my training plan.
My FAVORITE thing about Aaptiv is the style of having a coach/trainer that fully planned and recorded a workout guide for you. Having someone in my ear giving my advice and motivation feels awesome. Some workout apps I’ve used in the past just have an exercise and a timer and maybe halfway through would say “keep going!” But having a real human coaching you through the whole thing is so helpful. It’s like the experience of a group fitness class or personal trainer but on your own time and having it to yourself.
Aaptiv has made me a much better runner and helped me increase my fitness goals over time. I’ve been using it for years and love it just as much now as I did at the start.
Thank you Aaptiv!!
I’ve been using Aaptiv for several years, mostly for cardio. Now with crazy Covid, I’m using it for strength too. It’s a great
Things I love:
Variety of workouts - type, length, variety of exercises, coaches
The positivity embedded in all workouts
One stop shop for meditation, stretching and exercise as well as other habit reminders
Things I would like to see improved:
More strength workouts without plyo/ jumping
Better accuracy of descriptions on cardio workouts - eg I want a less intensive session and end up getting murdered when I don’t want to be OR not completing it
Would be good to see which workouts are tied to a program and which one, as it may make me want to join

I’ve had Aaptiv for less than a week. I’ve run into a LOT of issues. I’ve been in touch with the support chat four times so far, each time with a different issue. So far they’ve helped me with two issues, so there’s a 50% help rate. Completed workouts aren’t posting accurately. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m GETTING for $15 a month aside from some gray hairs. My “workout” app on my Apple Watch has been the only way to accurately track my progress. I have asked for a refund and will see if there’s another app that works properly to help me continue to run and track progress. Accurately.
This app is great! The trainers are very descriptive for the beginner workouts which makes it easy to understand what you’re supposed to be doing. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I like to see my progress. I wish there was a way to compare workouts. Even if there were an area to write notes so you can enter how far you ran/how much weight you lifted/how many reps were achieved. That way if you did the same workout for a second time you could see your improvement.
Other than that this app is wonderful and I’ve never felt so motivated!
I’ve been an Aaptiv member for 4 years now, and it’s the No. 1 took I use for fitness! I go in and out of having a gym membership, but I never get rid of my Aaptiv. Whether I’m running outside, lifting at home or exercising at the gym— Aaptiv has everything I need. I can’t speak highly enough. I’m also a HUGE fan of their guided meditations. Meditation and work our app all in one! Especially during this weird pandemic time, it’s been great to keep routines up without skipping a beat.
It’s a fun set for workouts. But there are missing exercises in the demonstrations. The instructors have you do exercises that aren’t even on the list of what is included in the exercises. Half the time I didn’t even know what they were telling me to do. I just waited until the next exercise. They don’t explain what positions you should go into next. Or explain what the position looks like before jumping into the other exercises when there is no example.
I’ve been an Aaptiv user for a few years now and I love it for running and meditation! The downside is that for everything else it’s kind of crap. There are no videos that go with the workouts so I’m often totally lost as to what the instructions are. They do have lists of shorts clips that show you what moves are included in the workout, but they don’t follow along with the audio so it’s really confusing.
I found that the “all levels” workouts are to difficult for beginners but when I sort for “beginner” workouts the app includes the all levels.
This is really frustrating. It takes forever to find a true beginner workout and is actually disheartening when I’m just trying to get a quick start in the morning.
I gave 2 stars to get the apps attention. This really should be fixed. Otherwise it’s a fine app
I have always hated running but the coaches on Aaptiv have helped me make running on the treadmill part of my fitness routine. From the perspective of someone like me that’s always hated the treadmill, but is willing to work hard, Id recommend using this. It’s worth the money to me . I love the video classes too, it’s helpful to see the form and exercises performed as you follow.
