Call protect

Something is wrong Not impressed. The app is blocking my husbands calls to me. He is in my contacts, and in my favorites. His calls don’t ring. Somehow my own number is blocked. I noticed it when trying to use the google maps while driving. The step by step voice directions wouldn’t work after downloading AT&T call Protect . I looked at my phone and the app was showing my number as blocked. I see the responses from At&t are only replied to the positive input. I have been an AT&T customer for over 20 years I have 3 cellphones on my plan. My phone bill is right at 300 a month . One would think that paying that much monthly and being a long term customer, some discounts on products would be available. No. The app doesn’t alert account services, fraud, telemarketing. No. The app blocked my husbands phone number I’m at a loss, I don’t know why I even have the app on my phone. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling with hopes it would help my issue but that didn’t work I’m at a loss rights now.
Don't use it's more of a bother

This app is good at blocking unwanted phone calls. The issue is when there are different outbound #'s vs. inbound #'s as many businesses tend to have. When a business calls me often the number they use to reach me is not the same as the main phone number for them, it's slightly different. When a business calls even if I were to update my contacts (my vet and eye doctor for example) this app blocks it and I miss calls because this app sends them to VM with no option to pick up the call. Just discovered blocked messages. It's frustrating. I have deleted the app and it's still blocking phone numbers even though some phone numbers are saved in my contacts. In my opinion this issue should be resolved to be an effective call blocking app. If you want to miss important calls and have important calls automatically blocked even though the numbers are in your contacts then download this app. Waste of money. It's caused more of headache than it's worth.
Impossible to get help!

I had high hopes for this app and really enjoyed not receiving those nuisance phone calls until I realized my voicemail was no longer working. I’ve done everything recommended on MyAtt app, I’ve had ProTech app “fix” my voicemail and I’ve called AT&T and spoken to someone who reset my voicemail password that was supposed to resolve my problem. Ugh!! Still no voicemail! I’d rather receive the annoying calls and send them to voicemail myself. I finally found how to delete the extra app I’m paying $3.99/mo for, and I have to wait until the month is up before I can delete the dang thing! Now you’ve added website security and WiFi security.... OH MY GOSH!!! I feel like I’m back in the dial up days trying to connect to a website. I have no other complaints about AT&T except the price could be a bit lower for your committed longtime cellular customers who have only had one complaint ;-) Thank you for listening to me rant, Teresa

This app is good at blocking unwanted phone calls. My issue is that when a business calls me often the number they use to reach is not the same as the main phone number for them, it's slightly different. When a business calls even if I were to update my contacts with the secondary phone line a business uses to make outbound calls (my vet for example) this app blocks it and I miss calls because this app sends them to VM. It's frustrating. I have deleted the app and it's still blocking phone numbers even though some phone numbers are saved in my contacts. In my opinion this issue should be resolved to be an effective call blocking app.

Something is really wrong as the app is placing me and my number as fraud risk and all my information is on it with my number It has silenced my google maps and I don’t know how to fix this Please help A month has passed since I wrote the above plea for help. I have not had any response and I cannot unblock myself. I will delete this app and hopefully some how find a service that will interact with me when I come against a problem I hope I can somehow get unblocked as my google maps app calls voice directions on the car. Not impressed.
NEVER blocks calls from my area code and 1 other I frequently use.

Probably getting a few less calls, but the only calls being blocked are ones marked “known spammers”. Their list of known spammers is quite insufficient though. All known spammers should be blocked by AT&T automatically without another tracking app. I HATE that this app is another cause for alarm in being tracked by yet another company using our very personal info to make their fortunes. (Close to the definition of a parasite?) This app NEVER blocks calls from my area code and 1 most used area code.
Blocking all calls

I’ve used Call Protect for at least 3 years. In the last 6-7 months it has blocked medical calls that an in my Contact List. Then in the last 3 days it started blocking every call. If I rebooted my iPhone it would work for a bit then go back to blocking everything. I checked the log & it showed even my husband as blocked. I called AT&T & the girl removed it from my account. My husband’s call came through. I told her they need to look into this as it may cause issues with others.
App not worth downloading!!!

One would think AT&T would have a great call protect app, since they are such a giant in the phone business. Well it doesn’t work, it’s not blocking, or even showing if the call is a spam risk. It’s letting all calls come thru. Why should I have to purchase the premium to get all the benefits the app offers, especially when my cell phone provider is AT&T? I’ve gotten more info on calls by researching the internet, & it’s ridiculous I shouldn’t have to research anything.
Better than nothing

It was pretty good but today alone I got five calls from Mayfield Heights. All different numbers but very similar and obvious spam. It makes it hard to justify paying so much for a phone when I can’t answer over half my calls because they might be spam/fraud. I think it’s BS that they try to charge you extra for a service they should provide for free. Why am I paying you for cell phone service when I can’t answer the phone without the risk of dealing with a telemarketer/spam/fraud?
Flagging Home Phone
Carellen1 on 2020-05-26
This app has been working pretty well, until recently. It definitely misses some calls but has caught others that did not go through. However in the last week, it has started flagging calls from my home land line as a “severe” threat as a telemarketer, even though the number is in my contact list. There is no way to report this to AT&T in order to fix it and I can’t find any way to mark it myself. I hope you can fix this!
