I didn’t want a bunch of dealerships contacting me, so I chose the “text dealer anonymously” option to ask questions. Dealer secretary said she didn’t have the answer and if I gave her my info she would get back to me. I didn’t give it to her and the next day she called me and said she had my number in the system. Didn’t make much sense to me. I then started receiving other messages being addressed by my name from other dealerships. I contacted Autotrader about this to figure it out and never heard back.
This app is Terrible! I've used auto trader for years, I love it and find it to be a great tool. However the quality of this app is awful. Everytime I use it, it crashes, lags, freezes. Reopen it after it crashes, within minutes it's crashed again. It's been this way for years, no update ever changes the biggest issue with this app. Everytime it crashes I have to start my search again from the top. Very poor quality app
Most of the prices you see listed on autotrader are in fact fiction, false a lie. When you call most dealers they will tack on nitrogen filled tires, gap, coating on seats, lo jack. They will either MAYBE discount the upcharges or not. They will proceed to say we are priced low so we are entitled to the up charges?!?!. This happened to several dealers i called on 2 different cars i was inquiring about. Just horrible.
Can’t save searches or individual vehicles on app. I’ve emailed administrators about this several times, over the past several months, but no updates yet—so I’ve been relying increasingly on autotrader’s competitors. I guess once everyone else leaves for the competitors then autotrader might decide to update ...
For over one year this app does not save any of my searches. I live the app otherwise because I’ve bought over 8 cars off Auto trader. The options allow you to narrow what you’re looking for without scrolling through junk. I have enough experience for over 6 years and saved all my searches before.
Love the app. It’s extremely well organized and gives lots of options to filter with while searching. The only additional filter that I wish it had was a engine positioning. Front, mid, or rear. That would be nice to separate all the mustangs and Cameros from the porches, new corvettes etc.
Love autotrader but the app itself is overrated.
Cons: won’t load all cars so you will only see a few
Most cars don’t include pictures of the actual car. The specs aren’t there for the specific car. The app will crash.
Pros: it shows some cars
I generally love using the app to look at vehicles, and actually found my current one on here. The only thing that bother me is even though I’m signed in, I’m unable to save vehicles or searches. Every time I try I get an “Oops something went wrong” error.
Love the app, but now I can’t Jew any of the car pictures in landscape. Only in portrait. Not only that, but I miss the op ion to view dealer inventory. It would give the option to view all the cars that a particular dealer had listed on autotrader.
The app is pointless if you want to sell. Everything has to be done through the web based portal. Even then, there is zero feedback on how you ad is doing (how many views, interested buyers, etc)
Use Car Gurus.
