Very misleading
aprilcora13 on 2020-10-31
This app is very misleading. When I first took the quiz I was told for $39.99 for 6 months I would get a personalized meal plan and intermittent fasting so I hit the purchase button which then prompted more options for personalized meal and workout plan or a personalized meal plan.... at additional costs. I already thought, based on the advertisement that I purchased a personalized meal plan for $39.99 so I skipped this option which then brought me back to the additional options at a lower fee ($13.99 for a personalized meal plan). Since I really am looking for a personalized meal plan I added this to my cart. I was so disappointed when the app downloaded and the “personalized meal plan” was just a list of recipes... which I can get with my free subscription on the MyFitnessPal app. The other feature better me offers for $39.99 is meal tracking which again I get for free on the MyFitnessPal app. And the intermittent fasting... it’s just a timer to track when to break your fast. Clearly this was a waste of $54 so I emailed the company asking for a refund. But because I didn’t fall within the fine print of the 30 day money back satisfaction I was instead offered and additional 6 months with the app for free. I politely declined and just asked for a refund. I was then told refunds are not given but could get 50% of my money back and 6 months free on the app. Again, this is not what I want. The app did not provide any of the “personalized meal plan just for me” as advertised therefore I don’t have any desire to continue using this product. The lesson I learned today... read reviews before buying into misleading advertising. If I would have just read the first 3 reviews prior to purchase I would not have wasted my money. Response to developer team: so you want me to put my email on this review board for everyone to have???

Don’t Fall for this like I did!

I was scrolling on IG and saw this Eat well ad for this program/plan. Mentions nothing about it being the “better me” app. Lol. So they lie and put u through this assessment test that is cooler than the actual app/fitness plan. You get all hooked on this plan that they say they have for you. Again mentions nothing about the BetterMe app. Then they send you an email confirming your $20 you just spent with the link showing now u will be using the better me app. You open the app the options are GENERIC. It’s basically the free app version of any app before buying any add-ons. Sooo I just paid $20 to enter the app lol. Nothing personalized AT ALL. Keto only diets. And when u contact them for a refund. They say “ It is strongly recommended to look through the Terms&Policies before placing any orders to avoid any misunderstandings in the future. And we do advise our customers to review all the terms before making a purchase. As for the refund request, unfortunately, we will not be able to fulfill your request. "you are eligible to receive a refund if you did not get visible results with our customized meal plan and all of the following conditions are met: you contact us within 30 days after you purchased our customized meal plan”. So yes I wrote back telling this person so what you’re telling me is this business is a scam?! Lol keep the $19.99 jerk developers. I won’t fall for this crap again. I wonder how many people they have already scammed. Apple should not allow them to do business.
Issue with requesting refund
lightinOC on 2020-10-31
The purchase during the $1 trial was confusing. I was prompted to add exclusive upgrades and did not realize it’s not part of their trial. Within minutes of setting up and checking out this app, I decided to cancel subscription. I was already charged for the trial plus the upgrade and I went thru Apple to cancel but purchase was made against my default PayPal and account was already billed. I requested refund since I had not used their product for a day and now told that no subscription will be charged and I would continue to have access until it expired. I have requested PayPal to help with my refund request. I did not like the confusing trial signup - that process had these pop up offers which were additional charges. I did not like that the nutrition option didn’t allow a way to change choices. It seemed every feature you had to unlock or upgrade. My dashboard had locks on it and multiple prompts to add options were available for more money. I can get access to similar apps where i do not have to pay for all these extras and therefore I didn’t see any particular value to switching to this one. Be careful if you sign up for this app without even getting a chance to see it until after you are already billed and then get a link to download and install. Look at the past reviews. I thought it would not be a difficult process to trial and cancel if I didnt like it but they make it difficult
Not User Friendly

This app has some good features, but it's not user friendly. I like that there is a "to do" list each day, but you can't customize what options are in the list. I'm a nursing mom, so fasting is not an option for me, but I am unable to turn off that feature. Adding the food I've eaten in the calorie counter is pointless because it barely recognizes any food I try to enter. I end up bluffing my way through it just to get a rough estimate of my calorie intake. I don't have the time to sit and enter every single thing I eat. And, most of the measurements are in ounces. I already don't like counting calories, but this app actually makes me miss the old app I used to track calories! My fitness watch is linked, but my step count isn't updated with it. It seems I have to have my phone with me just to have all my steps counted properly. I like being able to record how much water I've had to drink, but I can't seem to change my goal. I like that there are several fitness options, however I haven't tried a single recipe. I don't have time to go shopping for specific food and make a meal for myself... I have 4 kids and they're not going to eat these meals! I'm really frustrated that I paid for this app. It seems totally different than what was advertised (I signed up through a link in Pinterest). A free trial wasn't even an option.
Don’t waste your money!
Just want to loose weight! on 2020-10-31
I downloaded the app a few days ago and was excited to get started. Filled out the questionnaire and started logging food and water for the day. Did the first workout that they chose for my goals and continued with looking around on the app. Found the area that had the meal plan and was excited to start making a grocery list! First days meals had lunch and dinner menu with fish. I stated on the questionnaire that I don’t eat fish or tofu. I continued to look on day 2 and there was fish and tofu on this day. I sent an email to the customer support and was told that they couldn’t see where I placed the no fish and no tofu on my profile so they suggested I delete that app and reinstall it to reset it. After a few emails back and forth I asked if they would reset it to make sure I wasn’t charged for the app again, so they did. I went through the whole process again to chose my fitness goals and food choices and saved the info and once again my menu has fish and tofu on it! Another email to the customer support and they said they would let tech support know because it seemed like an issue on that side. So almost a week in and I still don’t have it fixed. Super frustrating! Here is the info you asked for. 409017

Complete waste of money!
Spencers Woman on 2020-10-31
I purchased the app thinking the cost of the app was the only purchase needed. If you want a meal plan and or join any of the challenges/workouts you have to spend an additional cost for each of those. Plus an additional cost for subscription which they don’t keep track of any of your purchases so you have to show proof of purchases because they don’t keep any records of them. My trainer said I hadn’t purchased anything yet but I sent him a screenshot and clearly I had, but apparently it was just for having a coach who frankly hasn’t helped me yet. Didn’t give me my money back even though I never used any of their workouts or articles. Complete waste of $50! You could easily spend $100+ bucks with their clever pop up ads for their different programs when you least expect it and if you were already about to click on something then you accidentally purchased a program you didn’t have time to look into first. That’s what happened to me and I said, I’m out of this rat trap! Don’t waste your time, otherwise you’ll be spending a lot of money that you will never get back.
Not worth the money

I’m with the other reviewers who describe this app as frustrating. Logging food was so annoying that I stopped after 2 days and went back to MyFitnessPal. The fasting tracker can’t be reset- so I stopped using that too. Although it did then randomly reset days later. It’s not intuitive in terms of user interface. And here’s the kicker- I wanted to make sure auto-renew was off since I’m not loving it. I purchased through the website so it wasn’t a straightforward action to turn it off. Your account in the app won’t do it if you buy it on the site, so I logged in and attempted to turn it off there. When I reached out to the support email to confirm I had done what was instructed in the fine print of the app, I got a rote email saying they’d get back to me within 8 hours. It’s been 9 days. I regret the 6 month subscription I bought. Some of the exercises and recipes are ok but you can get it all on other apps that are much more user-friendly. Buyer beware
This app has changed since the summer

I was using the 9.99 a month version. I didn’t keep my subscription in August. I purchased a year subscription to only have a totally different version. It no longer offers the walking and running. It no longer offers the stretching challenge, the plank challenge, the leg challenge and other challenges I enjoyed. I see now they charge extra for these things. Why even charge to use the app if I will have to pay to do challenges as well. Under fitness There are only 6 different types of plans. They no longer separated easy, moderate, and hard workout from each other. I was so disappointed and feel as if I have wasted my money purchasing a full year’s subscription. I use to love this app but not so much anymore. Also what is the difference between the premium version and the non premium? One more thing their should be a voice or a ding to let you know when it is time to change excises.
