An App’s info should mirror real-time transactions

I changed bank accounts for my every day checking/savings in Dec 2019. I don’t bank with Chase for checking and savings. They only hold my home loan. In Jan of 2020, I paid my home loan via the new bank account by way of using a desktop computer. In Feb I used the Chase app. A week later Chase tells me the funding didn’t clear. This was perplexing because I saved screen shots of the transaction confirmation provided to me on the app and I knew there were funds in the checking account for the home loan payment. Chase sent me an email advising the Feb payment was submitted via the Dec 2019 bank account info. Why they chose that account I don’t know, as it had been closed for over a month. I immediately went to the Chase website via desktop computer and paid the home loan from the bank account with funds in it. I saved the screenshot and received an email confirming payment transaction. I then called Chase bank and spoke with Javier on a secure and recorded line. I explained the problem and that I anticipated a late fee but I was requesting it be waived on account of the incompetent Chase app. He said no problem and would waive the fee IF it appeared and would personally monitor the account to ensure if it appeared he would reverse the transaction. The following day, I logged into the Chase App and the late fee had been applied and there was no record of the home loan payment I had submitted on 2/21/20. I logged into the Chase website via the email confirmation page received the previous day and it showed payment was in process and no late fee was accessed. I’m intelligent to know what to do in the event that Javier doesn’t keep his word (but I trust that he will) but what I don’t like is the deception by Chase App because a majority would have seen the late fee assessment and panicked and then paid the home loan via the Chase App and now instead of 1 payment they would have made 2 payments in 2 days and potentially would have created an overdrawn checking account. I detest the Chase App and because of this ill experience its value to me is horrendous. In the future, I will either make payment of the home loan from a desktop computer or walk-in the payment directly to one of their bank buildings.
Disappointed

Went into a local branch to discuss my checking account. The representative who was available was unable to answer my questions. He assured me I would hear from a manager via phone or email the very next day. I never did. I’m disappointed with Chase. I know chase is huge but I would expect a higher level of customer service after being with chase for 20 years. Especially with the abundance of banking options presenting themselves at my doorstep. I Would like to hear from Chase 9133 Central Ave. Montclair CA Branch today. Please do not disregard me again. Thank you.
Ups and downs

If you have a Chase card get the app. Most features have great functionality. It’s easy to check your credit score. The travel booking feature needs a major over haul. It’s the worst travel booking app I’ve ever used. Compared to others it’s significantly slower. Hit the wrong back button and you go alway back to the home page of the app. It doesn’t save child’s ages from searching one time to the next. Again it is so slow sometime you wonder if you hit the button or not.

Being a former banker I can tell you theyDO have the best customer service. They are polite and actually say yessir and when needed no sir. I’ve been with Chase since moving here with Quaker State Motor Oil back in 1995. And, I’ll never use anyone else. I have developed a good relationship with a real Cracker Jack and she knows who I’m talking about. If I was still in banking I would hire her in a minute! (You know paperwork).
Auto Pay Credit Card Feature Has a Bug

The feature to Manage credit card payments is flawed. The app says you can edit the current payment amount, but you cannot actually edit. The biggest problem is that the app lets you think that the edit worked - there is no error message. But if you check your new payment amount, you'll see it's still the old amount. So you have to remove the Auto Pay feature entirely and set it up again. Awkward!!
Deposit slow & crashed

When depositing multiple checks, if I babysit the app touching it when it needs attention while I focus mostly on opening the mail, the app can almost keep up with me. Takes about three minutes per check to deposit. Also seems to randomly crash and log me out so I have to log back in. Not sure whether those checks got deposited or not. Will have to look at my activity to see whether they did.
App locks me out of account

Site / app have been fine for years. Last few months, app doesn’t recognize password (works on web just fine) and locks me out so I have to reset password. This has happened at least 5 times. When depositing checks on mobile (when I’m able to finally get in) app kicks me out mid-deposit. I’d expect better. This kind of experience will make me goto my local credit union.
Desperately needs a couple of tools/features.

-Please make a “create a goal/budget” feature that lets users set aside money for certain goals, instead of forcing me to use PayPal. -Ability to edit category spending. -better notification system that tells us the exact amount that was charged instead of “the debit transaction of $20 was more than $0.00 in your alerts settings”. Otherwise, i love the app

Recent changes to the app now only let you see the last 7 cleared transactions. If you have 8, 9, 10 or more you can only see the last 7. That means you could have 1 or more (any thing more than the 7 most recent) transactions take place without you being able to see them. You can never be sure which transactions have actually cleared.
Credit Cards

Beware!!!! If you have a credit card they charge interest on every transaction. I would look for another bank. When I closed my account they sent me a letter saying my account was closed and they will update the credit agencies to inform them the account is closed. I felt they were trying to say it will affect my credit.
