Honestly, there are some good things with this bank. The overdraft system, and the early pay system. They are good at what little they can do. What attracted me to this bank was the no international fees, before flying out I had confirmed that the country I would be traveling to was compatible with this bank, 2 separate employees had confirmed it was. Low and behold, it was not. Not only could I not access my bank account via the app or online in this country, the card did not work at all. Many hours of phone calls, many emails, many arguments later, nobody could explain to me what the problem was. Customer service was right above what I would expect from a rock, with slightly better understanding of the English language. The argument I received every single time was “it should work and this country is on our list of approved countries” I should have figured bad news when on the flight over, the card did not work either. You may think that the simple fix is to stay in the US right? If only my problems ended there. Upon my return to the states, I tried to deposit a check into my bank account via their app, about a week later the check was denied, naturally I call to ask why as I think most of us would. “Well we don’t actually know why” was the answer I got, and the topper - “you can’t try again because the system will automatically deny this check”. It was a valid check as proven later at a different institution. This is not a McDonald’s who made my burger incorrectly, this is a financial institution in whom money is being trusted, and outside of the most basic use you can think of.. I would not trust these guys with a penny I find on the street. Went back to BofA and couldn’t be happier. Bank wise and spend smart, you won’t need this crap operation masquerading as a bank.

The service itself seems fine so far, although in my case there is no noticeable improvement in the speed of my direct deposits versus my actual bank account. What is utterly lacking is any sense of restraint in communications. In the first few days I had my account, I received probably a dozen emails from Chime, almost all of which boiled down to “hey buddy, setup direct deposit”. I pretty quickly unsubscribed from emails and they mostly stopped, although I keep getting ads to open a credit card. Today, what prompted me to actually write this review was receiving simultaneously a push notification from the app and an email, both “reminding” me about their credit card. I don’t want or need a secured credit card. I unsubscribed from marketing emails and therefore shouldn’t be receiving ads from you. Yet here we are. As far as I can tell there’s no way to disable marketing notifications in the app, so I can either get my transaction notifications plus those, or nothing. Garbage. Not surprising for fintech, though. The whole model seems predicated on obsessive communication. NorthOne, SoFi, and others are the exact same way.

So for someone who cant open a bank account like me chime is great although its a limited type account its good for most things but not usable for others like connecting to fidelity investments or webul investment apps but the most frustrating thing is the “spot me” and the referral bonuses, spot me aka how much you can withdraw without penalty is super inclear so if youre looking to get this bank for that skip it also i have had about 15 friends join chime through my link and get the direct deposits and i never got a penny but the level of control you have over your acount is great but if you loose your card they dont change the card number they just change the expiration date and send a new card with an identical 16 digit pin i hope they change their spot me algorithm because i called support and they had no idea what to tell me so because of these things i dont think it’s perfect but it isnt bad

A friend of mine recommended me Chime after I would complain about not getting paid early all the time & how I would have to take a certain amount of money from what I make to actually get “early”. At first I thought dis banking company wasn’t real till I actually tried for myself & they are legit. I jus got my Chime credit card a few days ago & I’m loving it. Now I have a Chime debit & credit card & I’ll soon probably stop banking wid Citizens Bank all together. I HIGHLY recommend Chime to anyone!

The only issue I have is that there is no easy way to replace a lost or stolen Credit Builder card on the app or website. One click and you have a new debit card - but not even an option for Credit Builder. I hope someone sees this and fixes it because I’m sure I am not alone. Aside from that, I have no complaints. I always receive my paycheck 2 days early, and not having to pay fees for ATMs or the occasional overdraft makes Chime well worth it. Highly recommended!

I’ve been an account holder with J.P. Morgan chase for 29 years of my life. My mother, father and siblings also held accounts with chase. Unfortunately chase is not a bank for the people, drowning it’s customers in draining fees. Chime bank has shown me that there still may be hope within the banking system. I have never once had a so much as a single fee with chime, payed earlier in the week and no fees! BANK WITH CHIME!

This banking app is super intuitive and simple to use! It’s great for being paid early. Although I do with they had an option to be able to use a check to pay with if a business won’t accept ACH transfers. Also every once and awhile they end up doing maintenance because the app or server goes down and it really messes with things and gets scary when you can’t view or use your money. Other than that great app.

I love chime, and their app!! Prompt and professional customer service. Never wonder where your money went because it sends a notification as soon as the money comes off your card. I get my paychecks a day earlier than everyone else at work. They’ll spot me up to $100 if I overdraft. Transfer money to friends or family in seconds. there’s more but I have a life so I can’t keep typing. LOVE Chime!

I have been banking with them for over 3 years. They have never failed me. They offer to cover you up to 100 in the negative with no charge. And sometimes if you use the wrong arm they will reimburse you . They have rapid pay as well getting paid a few days earlier. I have nothing but praise to say. I will forever be a life long customer thank you chime ✊

I been banking with Chime for 3 years and I cannot complain to much, but I have suggestions: I wish there was an easier way to withdraw larger amounts of money. More thank 1500, every 48 hours. Also I wish I can put a note in the check I send to recipients. I also wish there was a way to hide the amount of my savings displayed in the front page.
