Huge Disappoint Tonight!
MMCSUSN on 2021-09-17
Our grandson is a senior and plays football for the Davidson College Wildcats. As his grandparents we all live far away and look so forward to watching his games on ESPN, which we have subscribed to specifically to watch him play. Tonight’s game against Shaw was advertised that it would be televised at 7:00 EST. We tuned in, anticipating an enjoyable evening of college football, as advertised on ESPN3. After 40 minutes it was clear the game was not going to be shown but ESPN kept broadcasting the notice that the event was about to begin! Within the first 5-10 minutes, ESPN SHOULD HAVE acknowledged to its audience that the game would not be broadcast and the reason why, instead of leading us to believe that it would start at any minute!! Not only are we disappointed that we didn’t see our grandson play but you wasted our time which could have been used to pursue other opportunities! We suggest that in the future you have more consideration for your subscribers who do so much to support these young men in so many ways! Sincerely, Steven and Teresa Marshall Aberdeen, MD
College Pick ‘Ems
BamaC24 on 2021-09-17
I do love the app. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate. However, there is a feature that I do not like for the newest update to the College Pick ‘Ems. You used to be able to see the score in the app next to your picks. With the new feature it shows you what team you picked to win but it does not show the score while the game is being played. It only shows the score once the game is final. I wish it was back to the older version where you could see the score of the game as it is being played. Other than this flaw I like the new update.
So frustrating
Sphincky on 2021-09-17
I wanted to watch a football game and I figured $7 a month was fine and it would allow me to watch it. I don’t have another tv subscription. It won’t let you watch a football game if you don’t have another tv provider. If I had another tv provider, I wouldn’t be paying for ESPN extra, it would be part of it. So I go to cancel it and the app says you need to cancel online. So I go online and it says you need to cancel on your subscription list on the device you purchased it on. If I wasn’t bald, I’d have pulled out all my hair.

For such a large company and massively downloaded application, this has to be the lowest quality of app that exists. It’s unbelievably slow and buggy and is not user friendly. More often than not, I find myself having to just completely close the app when going between checking scores or watching highlights because of how big of a pain it is to try and exit from score or highlight to another. I would honestly rather watch highlights on YouTube with the commentators speaking Russian than have to watch them on this app.
App and ESPN are useless
TViper2369 on 2021-09-17
App is too busy and forces what they want you to see in your face. No way to set favorites. And searching is cumbersome. Also, no matter how many times I log into my provider the app continues to force you to login, even when the provider os already saved on my mobile device. Then when they can’t get their programming together they announce stuff is on the app, and it’s not there. Not to mention streaming isn’t for everyone. As an SEC football fan, not looking forward to the coming programming.
Unusable for Streaming
jeaster2727 on 2021-09-17
I have never had as much trouble with any streaming app as I do with ESPN. Consistently ignores the TV Provider log in and opens up streams in “preview mode,” and then provides an error when I click “TV provider sign in.” Often crashes/freezes when I initially click a stream, which makes me close and re-open the app once or twice before I can get a stream to work. If I had any alternative for some of these sports, I would delete this app in a heartbeat.

ESPN is great and all except for the fact where if you sign up for ESPN plus you get limited to how you can watch a specific event. Trying to watch an MLS soccer game and it only lets me watch it in Spanish when I am an ESPN plus subscriber and should be allowed to watch it in English as well. Makes no sense how I can only watch it in Spanish on my phone and I cannot watch it either in English or in Spanish on my TV. Definitely needs to be fixed.
Content great, functionality poor
Druffy42 on 2021-09-17
Content and videos are great for most major sports. However, I would expect a lot better functionality from a major company like ESPN. The favorites constantly reset and disappear. Links within and to other ESPN articles make you leave the app and don’t even take you where it’s supposed to. Buggy and crashes too often. Bottom line, the poor functionality distracts from the content, which should be a red flag for the app’s developers.
Tv provider
GrayZSS on 2021-09-17
Make sure you have a TV provider this is not like Disney plus or Hulu where you can use internet to stream via devices to your TV . If I had a tv provide I’d have ESPN . I have over the air antenna tv which has no provider so this package is useless…DO NOT BUY . THIS IS CRAP I CAN NOT USE THIS APP YET STILL CHARGED 6.99 for the month or should I say ten minute cause that how long it took me to realize how useless this app is !
Unable to access espn
michael from vashon on 2021-09-17
We bought espn via the Disney bundle and it seems impossible to have the app coordinate with the TV account. It is stuck on the wrong TV provider and will not let me switch it out or login. Customer service says to re activate my account but there is no clear way to do this. I sort of hate tech when it simply lines the pockets of the big providers. Signing up to pay always works like a charm..
