Description

New ways to play! Play with friends or strangers in online play, or play offline with friends face-to-face! Exploding Kittens, the most-funded game in Kickstarter history, is now available for iOS. Created by Elan Lee (Xbox, ARGs), Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal), and Shane Small (Xbox, Marvel). KEY FEATURES: - Exploding Kittens is a multiplayer card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats. - Play with 2 to 5 players across multiple phones in the same room, or online with friends or strangers - All art illustrated by The Oatmeal - New cards exclusive to the digital version of Exploding Kittens - The digital version of the most backed game in Kickstarter history In this highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette, players draw cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten, at which point they explode, they are dead, and they are out of the game -- unless that player has a Defuse card, which can defuse the Kitten using things like laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches. All of the other cards in the deck are used to move, mitigate, or avoid the Exploding Kittens. Exploding Kittens is a paid app in which optional game features may be purchased with real money. You must be at least 13 years old to download and play. There is also an option to compete online against strangers and resulting data transfer charges may apply. Better Played With Others

I love this game in general and was so happy to get the app. The game is really fun and I would highly recommend paying for the other decks (the last one is my favorite!). If you can get your friends to play that will be cool, and now during quarantine a lot of people are playing playing the online version so plenty of games to play. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME ALONE! You don’t need that frustration. The AI with this game is very tricky and the fact you have to win a certain amount to move to the next level...it’s nerve wracking. Before, I didn’t notice but playing a lot this week I picked up on some AI trickery. I know this sounds like a kid screaming “the game is cheating” but a few times I saw something that was very confusing or thought I was going crazy then I knew something was up when I had the ability to arrange 5 cards. I put the card I wanted first and placed the kitten next for the AI to pick up (2nd spot) and put another kitten in the fourth spot. So, first & third were cards I wanted. I pulled my card and got the one I wanted and that’s when the switch happened. The AI pulled a card and nothing happen and then I pulled a card and it was the exploding kitten....boom...game over. Total deception but why??? Glitch maybe? Fix it if so. Update: I did the 5 card switch again and the AI drew but didn’t get the exploding so I switched the top card for the bottom card and still got an exploding kitten and lost the game.

Awesome game!! But..

Have been on and off addicted to this game since last summer. Can’t complain about much, the occasional connection issues (assuming wifi; nothing’s perfect) do not bother me whatsoever. My only complaint is that during the last week, the game has changed. The frequency of exploding kittens per deck has intensified at the start of games. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the influx of players since the 2020 pandemic’s stay at home order; however, it makes the game go through rounds way , WAY, too quick. Unless this is all just me in my head and I’m going insane. But — Other than that, I highly recommend this game to everyone I talk to. Definitely worth the money and it’s the only game on my mobile phone I can tolerate and come back to. Quality of the game is near pristine and very, very impressive. Thank you for the great games!! Cheers!
It’s a good game but

It’s a good game but to put in your code for extra avatars was super hard to figure out. I literally had to go to YouTube for some explaining on how to do it, it’s so extra and honestly I don’t know why. Also I don’t like the lack of nope cards, and there’s not that one special card where you can hold onto and explode like you can in the game. I also wish they had the same cartoons as in the real life game or something similar the virtual cartoons are bland, and I wish there was the NSFW edition because I own both original and NSFW versions and the NSFW is so hilarious I’d definitely play the virtual option of it. Wish there was a way to put a code in and play the decks you already physically own. But overall it’s a decently fun game and for the $1.99 price point it’s definitely worth it in all its flaws.
Really good, but I have some suggestions.

This game is really awesome! This is good Because it is real faster then the real card game; the app does everything for you! But some things can improve. When I use a tell the future card, I see a exploding kitten on the top. So I used a shuffle card. Then I took a card and I got a exploding kitten. So I think the shuffle cards should be a little bit more improved. Also, I think Maybe they can make you start with more cards. Sometimes I would start off with a small amount of cards. But then people steal your cards, and they would stall so you wouldn’t get a turn so you can’t take any cards so when the card stack shortens, you can’t place many cards. THEN, you have to take a card and most likely get a exploding kitten. But other than that, this game is great and addicting!
AWESOME but some things you should add

I LOVE THIS GAME i even have the card game but what I’ve noticed is there’s no nope card i would really like it if you could add a nope card you don’t have to and it might be in a special deck but if it isn’t please and it and you don’t have to but you could add more expressions like IM GONNA WIN also you can make different exploding kittens cards like In the card games also maybe emojis for the expressions maybe even make apps for the other awesome games you make like THROW THROW BURRITO but remember you don’t have to do anything I’m saying it just will make the game better and this is probably the BEST game I’ve ever played
Almost great

The app is very slick and well executed and we have played it with socially distant friends. Two drawbacks: 1) the timer *really*gets in the way of playing with friends with a video conference link. I can understand why you’d want this playing with strangers, but would be so much more fun to allow conversation and interactions when playing and chatting with friends. 2) it’s a simplified version of the card game. Still fun and lots of cards. But doesn’t seem like it would be hard to allow the original also.
Not nearly as good as the real game
Iupchris10 on 2020-04-09
1) No Nope cards? 2) Only have 15 seconds to take turn and can’t adjust it for private matches. Makes it hard for first timers and leads to bad decisions. 3) Switching out of the game to check text messages can cause you to lose the game. 4) Easy to accidentally leave the game because the cards are right where the iPhone “handle” is on the bottom of the screen. 5) Tutorial doesn’t describe hardly anything. No explanation about slap cards or anything.
One issue

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the card game, but with the app, I run into an issue. When there are only two players left, you only have so many cards. Everyone knows the last card will be the exploding kitten, and the only way to win would be to have more slap and/or skip cards. It gets kind of annoying. I think that you should be able to shuffle the access cards like if you needed more cards in real life. If that was fixed, it would be wonderful!
switch out of the app and you lose!
Iupchris10 on 2020-04-09
I went to check my text messages when it wasn’t my turn and I automatically left the match and lost. Unbelievable. Good game if they could get some basic app mechanics figured out, like being able to switch out of the game for 2 seconds without losing. Also they don’t give you enough time to play your defuse card, which is very frustrating for first time players. They don’t teach you how to defuse I’m the tutorial. Come on.
