Terrible app
jsnyder48 on 2020-04-05
The only reason i gave 3 stars was because the streaming quality is great. Sometimes the audio works sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes the driver radio’s work but mostly they don’t and when they do work there blaring loud. I only purchased the monthly subscription for $2.99 a month and if they don’t fix the audio issues i will cancel. As you can see from other reviews this app is terrible. It’s way harder to navigate than it needs to be. You would think with all the technology available the creators of this app would have got it right by now but there not even close. It’s a shame that they can’t fix all of these problems. I just purchased this subscription and i have already sent a email to tech support because it’s so bad. If they don’t fix this app very soon i will cancel my subscription. I can watch better F1 races on YouTube and not have any problems. Get your act together and fix this app or drop it all together and start over. What a shame it is in the 21st century that these code writers can’t make a decent app.
Getting better but device restrictions annoying!

F1tv Is still not the greatest user experience. It’s getting better though but still clunky. At least the geo detection issues have been fixed. The login is limited to a handful of devices instead on number of streams. That means if you login on an iPhone or an iPad, then through a browser on your laptop you quickly use up all your device allocations. Then the next time you want to watch F1 you have to edit your allowed devices through a browser. Now with devices like Roku if you watch F1 in different rooms you will lose more device allocations. My kids have the F1tv app on their devices and it compounds the issue. We only want to watch one stream. In short it’s a terrible user experience and F1 looks greedy with this stupid device login restriction. Limit streams. Sell a family package with more streams, but why limit devices, it’s just stupid and unnecessary.

Please please please use the native iOS video player. I don’t know what technology you’re using, this might not be a native app. Tu your video player is SO BROKEN. The top status bar on iOS never disappear. The play button is too small and not in a safe area. On iPad the progress bar is under the home bar. It’s really hard to move forward and back in the video. No + or - 30 sec to move quickly. Anyway you get it NATIVE PLAYER. It’s really the #1 thing you should prioritize. You can’t have a broken player for an app whose main goal is to show videos.
Audio commentary selection simply doesn’t work.
trikobalt on 2020-04-05
I have Pro subscription and the English setting for commentary doesn’t have any commentary for the 2016 - 2018 seasons. Maybe others, I have not looked. This has been a problem before and it still is. Would also agree that the user experience is clunky. Seems like their servers are slow. Since the 2020 season is very significantly delayed, you are better off not getting this service. It’s just terrible.
Does the job.

My big gripes are: No skip forward/backward while watching. If you miss something it’s a pain to go back and rewatch when you are replaying a race. The race list seems to take a long time to load. I have a family and I tend to watch a race in short segments. So it’s frustrating when I want to resume a race. It also doesn’t remember where I was in the race. Otherwise, it’s fine. Good video quality.
Fumbling attempt
iOS.10.0 on 2020-04-05
All of the Formula 1 digital consumer offerings are frustratingly disappointing. It’s nice that we can view archived races, but there are so many misses. Unnecessary friction trying to watch races, regular glitches while using the app, difficulty hiding results (for fans who are watching replays), and lack of an Apple TV app are just some of the issues. Just about what you’d expect from FWONK
Better than before.

The first time this app came out it was a disaster! I canceled my service the first time and after missing some races i got back in but I had to endure the suffering and disappointments with this app. Now F1 finally resolved some of the biggest complaints (bugs) and now the app is nearly flawless. * please fix the commentary in the archives I cannot hear the announcers anymore.
Needs some more
antoniofarias on 2020-04-05
When i first tried it it was seriously lacking in all fronts, continuously crashing, only available on mobile devices or pc, amongst other things, but now most of it has been solved and the only negative that i can still say is that the full race archive is still “short” for some of us that love watching racing from the past, all in all great app great content and worth the time
App not made for iPad
Berkyman on 2020-04-05
App menu will not go to landscape mode. There no controls, for example, volume or back/forward, . Th The app is poorly conceived and executed. Looks like something from several years ago and not current. Frustrating given the money paid for subscription.
No Audio Commentary
danflies on 2020-04-05
Audio commentary is broken on iPhone. The video doesn’t work as all other video on iPhone. Won’t work with other devices like AppleTV. Be wary of using this app for your primary to watch races. It is not reliable or consistent.
