Reviews

I was really hoping the reviews weren’t true

Oh lordy lord. Whoever is budgeting this app to be developed should be slapped and the developers fired. Not even sure what to say. It’s bad. There’s a lot of basic things wrong. #1 *********IT ALWAYS USES LTE INSTEAD OF WIFI EVEN WHEN YOURE ON WIFI. I HAD TO TURN OFF ACCESS TO CELLULAR IN OPTIONS TO PREVENT THIS!!! *********** #2 ***** FORMULA 1 LIES ABOUT F1 TV!!! **** THEY ONLY PRO SUBSCRIPTIONS CAN SEE PRESS INTERVIEWS!! BUT NEWS FLASH THEY ARE AVAILABLE FREE ON THEIR YOUTUBE CHANNEL WHAT THE HELL!!! I found this out after hitting my data cap in two days because i was streaming races. You can’t fast forward/rewind. If you switch from replay to a different cam, then switch back, it starts the video over from the beginning. The organization of the races is disjointed. There is no Apple TV app. When screen mirroring to your apple tv it doesn’t rotate into landscape.
Woeful
KC1974 on 2020-02-17
This has been out for a year and is absolutely useless. I’m in the US - we get F1 on ESPN using the Sky Sports feed. Wonderful, and pretty much free (if you have cable or a streaming service that carries ESPN). I would subscribe for the year to this though if: a) it was the Sky feed b) it didn’t keep crashing c) there was an Apple TV app for it d) no audio/commentary on archive broadcasts Seriously - no Apple TV app?? You expect people to just watch formula one on a cellphone for 2 hours each race for $80? Did a month - it’s bollocks. Not worth the $10.
Too many bugs
Latino for Trump on 2020-02-17
There’s no reason why an app with such a humongous organization behind it should be this buggy. The videos take too long to load and audio from other videos will play over whatever it is you’re watching. This app feels like it was built as an afterthought and is maintained as such. My standard is the YouTube app, and it’s free. However I pay for this and it feels 10 years old.
iOS app is garbage. Where’s the promised tvOS app?!
voidnomad on 2020-02-17
The app itself is a “bug” and no update is going to fix it. No AirPlay, no Casting. Screen mirroring doesn’t work properly. F1 needs a new developer team. You’re underserving your paying fanbase. That’s not going to help you grow your audience by expanding your streaming options. “Later this year on Apple TV” that was last year’s unfulfilled promise.
Great video marred by amateur hour performance
In Tune Editor on 2020-02-17
Archive loads only sometimes. Other times: If you stop a video and start another, audio from the first will play over it. If you stop a video I’m the middle and go back, you lose your place No fast forward / rewind controls I mean: basic stuff. If only F1 were owned by a media company or had high budgets...oh wait. Dang....
Apple TV??
ShyuneX on 2020-02-17
When is the Apple TV app coming. Seriously this shouldn’t be that hard. I don’t know what technology you used to build the iOS app but making cross platform Apple apps isn’t a crazy task. It’s been promised for a while now and with the new season approaching fast we still haven’t heard anything.
Great recent content; poor UI and incomplete archives
vought on 2020-02-17
A good way to watch F1, but the player is poor and uses some odd UI. The UX is clunky. The archives are appreciated but without commentary in most cases, so of limited usefulness, since viewers are at the mercy of archival footage to see what’s happening at all points of the race.
F1 TV so much promise...
jk lotus on 2020-02-17
F1tv was such a inspired concept. Ironic that a format to supply content about racing’s most advanced technology is plagued by technical difficulties. I have great hope that the second year can resolve the issues. JK Lotus
No Apple TV App
B_Nasty01 on 2020-02-17
I’ve had the F1 TV service for almost a year now, and they still haven’t made an Apple TV app yet. Even though they say, in the description, that it will be released later in the year. This is not a worthwhile investment.
