This app advertises a three-month introductory period. It will renew without warning after 90-days, rather than renewing on the same day of the month that it was purchased (a true 3-month trial).
I contacted them as soon as I received an email receipt that it had auto-renewed for another three-month period (which again would only be 90 days), to tell them I did not want it renewed. Canceled the subscription and requested a refund. Even though it was within an hour of the charge going through, they refused to provide a refund, and refused to acknowledge the difference between 3-months and 90-days. After multiple back-and-forth emails, I’ve turned the dispute over to my credit card company.
BTW - if you get to the end of the trial period and like the app but aren’t sure about the price, you should still cancel. They will offer you a low one-time fee to have full access rather than a recurring payment (Equal to their 90-day price). In my case, after the first month, I wasn’t using the app and I didn’t want to pay for unlimited access to something I’m not going to use.
I never used app and never even downloaded app, I completely got surprised that got charged $53 today. Wrote to their support right away, they would not cancel the renewal and give refund. Very unfriendly customer service. Be aware! I must have carelessly tried “free” trial, but I don’t think I signed up for auto renewal. It’s a scam!
The customer service said “note that uninstalling the application/not using it/erasing personal data in the program will not lead to the cancellation of the subscription plan or the billing cycle.
the subscription may be cancelled only by users themselves in the 'User Account' on our website or upon making a request to our support team. Kindly note that the cancellation request must be submitted at least 24 hours before the next billing cycle to avoid being charged for the next period of use.”
Look at all the issues by googling “Actitech” prior to subscribing. I did a trial in march and while I loved the app—-canceled due to pricing. I’ve had 5 charges from 28-53 dollars pulled on accounts since. They’ve been refunded after providing cancellation info and thankfully this last one my credit card company caught. 160$ total in charges I’ve had to report. EDIT TO ADD- they contacted me about how subscriptions work 🤦🏻♀️ I’m aware. Just read how many people couldn’t stop payments. I am not subscribed ANYWHERE but if you allow them to be an auto renew on PayPal they can still pull money regardless. I’ve been refunded all my money but also had to change my credit card for fraud activity.
I like this app a lot. It does cost money, but if you don’t have a gym membership or prefer to workout at home, it’s a great way to stay in shape. I’ve used it for about a year on and off. (I usually walk or swim for exercise.) The new update changed the volume to include both the warning timer beeps and the instructions. I can’t stand listening to the instructions every time, but I need the beeps bc I don’t stare at my phone during every move. It’s really hard to have proper neck alignment on a side plank and keep my eye on the phone so I can tell when to move to the next position. Please have an option for just the beeps without the instructions!
I didn’t like this app—it just wasn’t for me. When I tried to cancel just a few days after signing up I found the process to be shady. On the app you can cancel, but that only cancels your renewal which is for a whole year later. I could find a way to cancel to cancel the $69.99 trial, which I was immediately charged for. I went into the chat. The person asked me to explain why I wanted to cancel. I did. After that I was told that my case would sent to another department and I would here back by email in 24 hours regarding my request for a refund…I hope everything works out and I don’t have to dispute this with my CC company. I’ll update…
Please do not pay for anything on this app. Do not subscribe or you will waste your money. They don’t do refunds. I don’t ever purchase stuff like this but I wanted to try it. One of their ads caught my attention but it is nothing close to what the app has. It does not give an option to what types of food I like and what types of food I don’t like! I tried changing foods and only game me 2 other options of foods I didn’t even like. Didn’t give a list of things I’m allergic to. I ONLY HAD THE APP OPEN FOR 20 mins to change foods and to look at exercises just to see it was a waste or time and money. AGAIN GUYS PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING .
I purchased a subscription yesterday because the advertisement stated “30 day money back guarantee” and ended up not liking the app because the meal plan gives you no customizable options and the workouts were misleading. I was told today that the fine print actually states there are no refunds offered whatsoever. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES. Just be aware before purchasing that if you do not like the app immediately, you do not get your money back.
Edited to say that now I am being told that if I provide VIDEO PROOF of my workouts for 14 days, I COULD get my money back if my body does not show results. 🤣 This company is a joke.
I purchased a trial period of the app for 25.99 if you’re not careful and turn off auto renewal, they will charge you $53.19.
Immediately after getting the receipt, I contacted customer service through my app to request a refund after canceling the auto renewal.
The company refused specifically Emily customer support representative of the FitCoach team, said that “by pressing the start now button on our website, therefore, proceeding with purchasing the program, you agree that you have read, understood, and agreed to our refund policy”
I am disputing the charges through my bank, this is theft.
I cancelled my subscription to the app as I felt it’s not for me. They cancelled my app access BUT they said that I should have canceled my subscription too. They ended up charging me $ 53.19 for extra three months and claimed that I should cancel my auto charge first before I cancel my subscription although they confirmed I cancelled my subscription.
Totally unprofessional. If there is a less that one star I would have given it.
Find other apps and beware of the fine print!!
I am positive I cancelled the auto renew feature in my account since I was not enjoying the app (just not my favorite). I was surprised to get an email today that my subscription was renewed today. I cancelled it (what I believe is “again) and emailed customer service about a refund (literally within minutes of getting the email) only to be told “yea sorry you are out of luck”. I’ll be sure to keep an eye as I feel like this could be a recurring issue with billing.
