Amazing Game but things to be wary of
CrossSing on 2020-10-27
This game is honestly so amazing, it has wonderful characters and the open world is just fantastic and I have never been so addicted to a game since Fortnite s7 but that’s beside the point and the other reason i decided to finally write this review was to warn new players about some of the stuff they may come across, for example once you have hit AR(Adventure Rank) 28+ you might encounter problems that players have been raving about: the Resin System and Character Drop rates(this one doesn’t matter for any rank). For starters, right now at the moment( remember that) the max amount of resin you have is 120 which as you get farther into the game will realize that 120 is clearly not enough and then the time to replenish that resin is 1:8 ratio 1 resin is 8 minutes, that means you have to wait at least 16 hrs for all your resin to be replenished, I personally is not that bothered by this problem only a little bit, but a lot others are and time to address the next problem which is Character Drop rates, I might be a tad bit biased for this one but the character drop rates are ridiculously low. For example getting a 5 star character is 0.6% and you have to wish 90 TIMES just get guaranteed 5 star and that is a very HUGE problem for the community because it makes a very large gap between the f2p(Free to play) and ptw(pay to win) players because people who spend money have a more likely chance of getting these amazing 5 star characters while f2p’s barely have a chance and have to grind and save like crazy. A solution I do have for the resin problem is to one increase the cap not to 160 but at least 180 and decrease the replenish time to at least 2:1 ratio(2 min = 1 resin) and introduce a resin mechanic called Condensed Resin because this will one. Allow players to play more and grind way more and not get hit by a resin wall. Two. Will also help people saves their fragile resin till at least AR 40+ and three. This will make more people play a lot more than just dailies everyday and a side note is plz mihoyo increase the drop rates of the characters and INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF PRIMOGEMS U GET IN GAME(new players will learn about primogems once they play) but all in all this a very great game and one of the best gachas out there so far and I don’t want anyone to quit because of the problems I stated here, All I’m trying to do is make new players aware of these problems so it won’t be such a big shocker when it hits them and I hope you guys enjoyed the review and keep doing your work mihoyo and I’ll see you in game
Why I gave it 2 stars and not 5 stars like everyone else.
hdudkxncnd on 2020-10-27
First off, please don’t say I didn’t play through enough, I did, I’ve beaten the entire first storyline, and am now exploring Liyue and i don’t think the game is bad, in fact, this game DESERVES 5 stars, but they’re a few issues I have; the first being the fact that i’m on my iphone 11, and the game continuously crashes on me, and not just closes the app, i mean crashes to the point my phone freezes up like a computer would, and then force shuts down...? At first, i was like okay, that’s fine, not a big deal, but it’s happened at least 7 times since the first time, it’s an issue. The second issue i have is how incredibly difficult it is to get wishes which are needed to summon heroes such as Venti, and QiQi. It would be really generous to make the game a bit more free to play, it’s ridiculous how players summon dozens of times and constantly get 3* weapons, i mean, really? Your game has the lowest rates in any gacha game i’ve ever played at 0.6% chance of getting a 5* vs an 84% to get a 3* weapon. You are setting your free to players up to pay, it’s forcing your players to pay at a certain point because it is so incredibly difficult to acquire primogems. We get increments of 2, 5, and 10, per chest and they don’t even respawn most of them so eventually all we have is the daily 60, and the summons cost 160 for 1 and 1600 for 10! What the heck here man? There’s no incentive to play a game in which we are teased characters with no chance of getting one and having to struggle to get just barely 80 primogems from chest. I will stay until 1.2 in hopes something changes but wow, this’ll be a tough game to support. I still think it’s difficult to acquire heroes that would be more unique and fun to use on the battlefield , they’re videos on youtube of people spending thousands of dollars on the gacha, just to receive ONE! Then again, all i’m asking for is a way to get wishes a bit more often OR increase the rates for 5*’s. The resin system also has serious issues, but i’ve heard of fixes for it. Other than that the game is amazing, it has amazing gameplay, ethereal graphics for mobile, and a beautiful/enticing storyline that makes you WANT to grind your adventure tank in order to unlock more content. Also, I do understand this is your first week going global on all platforms and I will continue to wish success on this game. I also will continue to play and try to make do with the crashing cause I really do enjoy this game!
Good, Fun Game
SinjonC on 2020-10-27
Assuming the anime-ness of the world isn’t a turnoff for you, there lies a very competent game inside. If you’ve played BotW before, then it’s easy to see why most people call this game an anime Breath of the Wild, though it isn’t just a clone. For one, the combat in this game is closer to NieR: Automata than Zelda, with the ability to switch between party members during combat. This game also has a progression system similar to JRPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles 2, where doing quests and finding new items and locations in the world rewards you with EXP. The gacha elements might be a controversial element for some, but as far as I can see it’s not necessary to use it to progress through the story. Another thing about this game on iOS is how well this game runs. Granted, i’m playing this game on the latest 2020 iPad Pro but even then i’m able to play this game with its graphics settings cranked up to their max and am still able to get a consistent 60fps, and it certainly is one of the best looking mobile games i’ve seen on the app store. My biggest gripe with the game by far however, is the lack of gamepad support. It’s disappointing to see a major game such as this launch without any support for an external controller, especially as this game is also available on PC and PS4. Touch controls are fine and it would be a bit weird to use a controller on a smaller device, but having no support for it nearly a month after it’s official launch is bizarre. Also of note is the small ‘quirks’ this game sometimes has. Whether it be small gaffs in scripting or odd dialogue it’s certainly noticeable but it’s not gamebreaking, at least none that i’ve encountered. Overall though this is still a very good game, and especially for a free game it’s certainly worth the try.
Amazing, even better with some work.

I first want to state that the game itself is a very well made and well thought out game. It can get you addicted within the hour of playing it. I really enjoy getting the story quests and all the other small minor things in the game that make it that much more interesting. It has so many amazing features to it and when you first start playing it and getting used to the story, side quests, and things you have to do to progress is really amazing. Once you get farther into the game (adventure rank 25 and further) it gets much harder to progress in the game and harder to level up the adventure rank further. You need your adventure rank a certain rank to actually get the next story quest. This leads to 20 hours of grinding to level up just to get 20 or so minutes of a story. Making it easier to level up in the game would make the game much more enjoyable and interesting because you have something to look forward to instead of dreading the hours of grinding needed to level up a few times to get farther into the story. I’m a mobile player and I also would like if there were to be a battery saver on it so my phone would not always be on 20%.
Great game at the start....
TiuMars redux on 2020-10-27
I do really like this game. The art style combined with solid mechanics and an interesting story make it worth playing alone. That said, there are things that do need to be fixed. Early on they throw a lot of free stuff at you (as most f2p games do) and there is a decent amount of content to keep you occupied. The problems start once you hit adventure rank 20 or so. After awhile the game literally becomes pay to play. You have the energy to do a max of 6 missions (depending on the mission, could be as low as 2.) you are basically given a choice, save the daily gems you get to do a free 10 summon once a month, or use them to get more energy so you're able to upgrade and level up characters and gear. Despite this I do really enjoy the game and will continue to play, but if the current resin system doesn't change or they don't add other free ways to just play the game then I will be abandoning the game. Definitely worth checking out for now. Without a few changes in the future I would definitely say pass and spare your wallet.
Love this game, but...
AWannabeFujiki on 2020-10-27
Genshin Impact is probably the most fun I’ve had playing a mobile game in years. It’s graphics, world design, battle system, and characters are all amazing and unique. My only gripes with it are: When I’m just opening up the app, it takes at least a minute to load (load meaning where you see the MIHOYO screen, then GENSHIN IMPACT), and that whenever I switch my party around, without fail, I know my game will crash. I don’t know why it does this, I’m assuming it’s a bug. I’m hoping it will get fixed soon, but I love this game and want to watch it grow. **EDIT:** As much as I love Genshin Impact, it’s becoming downright unplayable on a mobile device. Whenever I try to do a commission/quest, I’ll get about 3 dialogue lines in, then the game just crashes. This is with every quest, so I physically CANNOT progress in the game. PLEASE do what you can to fix this
Absolutely excellent game, but filled to the brim with bugs
Thanatia1109 on 2020-10-27
Seriously, this game deserves a 5-star just for the gameplay, people weren’t exaggerating when they said this was anime botw. But on the other hand, the bugs/glitches/constant crashes makes this almost impossible to play on mobile. You start up the game, you run into the white screen bug. You launch the game, you get a crash. You start up the game and wait through the white screen again, you crash after 10 minutes of game. And even throughout the 10-minute gameplay, you still encounter bugs everywhere. So many bugs that I can’t even name them all. Keep in mind that my device is a 6th gen IPad with over 20gb of space, and my experience is still like this. So until the dev fixes all this, I’m not giving this a 5-star. (I’m not even gonna get into the resin system and the ridiculously predatory gacha, that’s a whole other can of worms)
A pleasant surprise to play!
AbbyG98 on 2020-10-27
When I first saw the game, I thought I’d be able to customize my character in similar ways to other games I’d played (changing physical appearance, ability, etc.); yet as I played the game, I found myself still enjoying it despite not having this ability. The story, animation style, battle tactics, monsters, and characters are all lovable and delightful! It feels like being in a movie or playing one of my Xbox games. Really well done to the creators. So far, my favorite character is Lisa for both her charm and powerful lighting strikes during combat. Keep up the great work! I would like to suggest the ability to possibly change clothing on characters as well so that it feels more personalized if that’s alright.
Amazing game

I rarely write reviews, as I find most games to be barely worth the time. However Mihoyo has outdone itself a second time. Honkai Impact 3rd was and is one of my top games, but this edged itself ahead. Beautiful graphics, breathtaking music, fun and simple combat (yet challenging to master), engaging characters and storyline all play to its strengths. There is no sense of pay to win or pay to play. If I were to call out a weakness, it would be that the dailies are a bit too time consuming with the ‘spend original resin’ aspect, which I struggle to complete. I am thankful for Mihoyo games as I have been under extra social distancing due to cancer, they have made the time much less difficult. Thank you!
Nice ad, get a 5 star when the rates are 0.6%
silverozen1314 on 2020-10-27
5 star heroes have a 0.6% rate. You need 7 copies to unlock all of their game changing passives. They are generous with the launch rewards but they also nerf the free currency you get from chests. Mihoyo is also infamous for being stingy with free currency so just be mindful of this. Resin regen is horrible. You can only do like a couple of boss runs daily. Game also feels poorly optimize especially on mid end devices. It's unplayable for low end. I'm forced to play on pc but pc have better games than this. I'm not gonna boot up the game and play for like 15 mins daily. It feels like it's between pc and mobile. Perhaps it'll feel better playing it on a switch.
