The Best One!

I just noticed that Google Translate has the Latin language. This makes me happy because I have been trying to learn how some languages are related to Latin. I use Kindle books to learn Spanish and French and I noticed that there is no Latin dictionary for Latin within the Kindle environment which disappoints me.This is where Google Translate comes in. I think this will help me a lot. I also just noticed that Google Translate is adding translations in male and female genders which I think is helpful if a person is translating to a person or a group of male and/or female persons. I would be embarrassed if I ever had to find a translation to send to a person and the wrong gender popped up. What if I didn’t notice that the translation was the wrong one? These things may seem small but they have the potential to become large. Even though I am learning completely on my own without a native speaker to practice with, I like that Google is thinking of little things like this. A big thank you to Google and all the hard-working people who care. It really does make a difference! May 2022
Language Suggestion

I just wanted to say that I love your app and use it on almost a daily basis since I live in a foreign country (Egypt, I’m from the US). But it is very difficult still to get good translations because you don’t have Egyptian Arabic in your app to translate from. It is very different from standard Arabic, since no one speaks standard Arabic, it’s only in articles and things like that. Most of the things I need translated are messages from Egyptian Arabic speaking people (doctors, my apartment buildings WhatsApp group, important conversations, etc) and the translation never makes sense in English because I have to use the standard Arabic option in the app. Please add Egyptian Arabic as a translation in your app because this is the most widely understood and used Arabic language…it would help a LOT!!!!
Bring back the ability to select from images please.

The new image translate is terrible. So many people often need to translate just one sentence, or else have an image/screenshot that has multiple languages. That is almost ALWAYS the case for me and the image translate is essentially unusable for me now. Especially because I find that the translations are LESS accurate when the app is being asked to translate a large block of text — understandable, since there is more grammar&etc to work with — but this just makes everything so much harder. Not to mention the ability to break it down and see each word is super helpful if you are actually trying to learn a language. They’ve basically replaced the image library translation with something much more like the AR instant live camera one (which I never used).
Bring back highlight section

While the live feature is pretty cool, it’s annoying to not be able to isolate and translate a portion of the text. Especially if you don’t want the whole thing or suspect that the translation is incorrect and want to know just a single word. Not having this feature any longer is extremely frustrating. Also, please bring back the pinch to zoom out function in the window portion. Not sure what it’s called. But the option you click when you want the translation to go full screen with the blue background. It comes out huge and cuts off in weird places, sometimes in the middle of a word. You used to be able to zoom it out to make it smaller. Please bring that back.
Useful App, but …
Dologoat on 2022-05-24
The App has been very helpful and easy to use. Its accuracy seems to be quite on target. The infuruiating “Manage History” banner that appears on the screen now, obscures all of the traslations that have been made in the past. That, unfortunately, reduces the utility of the App considerably for me. The instructions for removing the “Manage History” banner are not appropriate for iPhone or iPad as there is no History option at the bottom of home pages for those devices.
I’m Not Kidding!

This Google Translate app is thee very best! I don’t understand how anyone can say less, unless they’re having another type of problem, such as a technical one. I never had any problems whatsoever with this app and I adore it! I’m not kidding! You can also use it online. What more would anyone ask for? Everything is here, in this app. I am in no way affiliated with Google at all. But I use their apps all the time! THANK YOU GOOGLE GUYS AND GALS!!
Thanks google for kurdish translate!

Greeting there, It was the best technician improvement for kurdish people that saw google has added kurdish central language translation for google translator app. It was really amazing and made kurdish people to use google translator much more. The translation technique is very useful and powerful. because, It’s e-learning translation which means it learns itself without checking or hunting for dictionary. Keep up good works and thanks again.
Hebrew-Latin Phonetics
Construct on 2022-05-24
My understanding of Hebrew being limited, I’m not sure if my request is literally or technically possible or feasible. But if it were, I would greatly appreciate any Latin alphabet phonetic transliteration that could be provided for the Hebrew language. The world benefits immensely from all the work that goes into developing and maintaining this application, and I certainly am grateful for it. Thank you for this monumental effort.
Great, but could be better.

Translations a excellent, however, there should be a choice for gender choice. This puts everything in the male form and if you don’t know the language, you can’t use the appropriate pronunciation when speaking to a female. Also, would be nice to to have a built in keyboard for iMessage, WhatsApp, and Messenger. WhatsApp and Messenger keyboards would allow for free long distance communication without shifting between apps.
Changes reduce learning
Mindykw900 on 2022-05-24
All of the new changes have limited my ability to actually learn the language, but instead force me to depend on google. For example, I cannot highlight, copy & paste specific Chinese characters to find out what they are saying in Pinyin. Now it only translates the whole page without any choice. It also no longer saves my history unless I turn on the google receives my data option. What a disappointment.
