Reply again to developers regarding tagging members:
My iPad Pros are running the latest IOS and the most current version of Groupme. I have deleted and reinstalled the app as well. When I tag a member with the “@“ sign, I can see the drop down menu list of members and everything looks normal. When I select the member, the font name properly becomes bold, but when I push the send button, it appears in the chat feed as just someone’s name without the bold highlight.
Reply to developers comment about what they can do better to receive a five star rating: 1. Fix iPad Pro issue for tagging people w/ the @ sign. All of my IPad Pro devices cannot properly tag anyone even though all of my iPads are running the latest updated IOS and the the newest version of GroupMe. 2. Fix the awkward location of the send button when sending photos on IPad. 3. Redesign the crop photo feature. Dragging each corner creates weird shapes. whose idea was this?? 4. Fix the freezing issue when reopening the app. To unfreeze it we have to repeatedly click on another chatroom to get the app working again. 5. Increase the character limit per post. It is ridiculously too low and there is a point when we are unable to even see what we are typing because the window does not show the last line of the text. 6. Increase the length of videos that we are able to send to each other. At the very least, we should be able to send and watch a 2–3 minute video. No matter how beautiful you make the fonts or colors, it doesn’t create a better user experience. I still cannot properly tag members by using the @ sign. also, we are not able to post videos of any meaningful length. This is my biggest beef. Absolutely useless if you want to post a video. we should be able to post a video that is at least a minute long if not longer. Please fix this. Also, what’s up with the Limited number of characters we can type for each post!? it’s way too short. Why don’t you consider improving the basic functions rather than aesthetics?! By this point, isn’t it obvious??

a few months ago, my groupme had been buggy so after trying out different ways to problem solve, i decided to completely delete the app and then redownload it. when i went back into the app, everything was normal until i tried logging in. when i put in my login and hit continue, a pop up goes "something went wrong. please try again" and then i try again and again and nothing works. i can't even reset my password because the same thing happens. i even tried all the different ways to login i even tried to make a new account but no "something went wrong. please try again". and since that problem i have been apart of something that used groupme for communication but i couldn't be in it because of my problem. and i am on a team at my school that is going to make one so please fix this. thank you
GroupMe has been one of my favorite apps for a very long time. As expected, it’s where my friends from around the country are able to consistently mingle, keep fantasy football leagues organized, & more. Now, there has been a plethora of unwanted UX updates made that have overly complicated the app’s use, & made it much less appealing generally. Beyond that, the app & desktop version now consistently crash. I often have trouble being able to send messages. I’m constantly badgered by a notification to pin my favorite chats to the top of my queue. I don’t need any of that! I want what used to be. I do not understand why these app providers feel the need to make unnecessary updates to apps that serve a certain purpose—& then ultimately denegarte the product’s primary use case.
Looks like all the bugs I encountered were fixed, so I added a star.
GroupMe is still lacking features every other messaging app has such as deleting messages and groups. Worst of all, most group owners abandon their account, so we get stuck in a multitude of dead groups with no ability to end them. Either all members of groups should be able to end groups or abandoned groups should automatically end. Leaving groups does not do anything. All of our messages and likes remain within that group and groups you leave move to another list. Deleting our GroupMe accounts does not do anything either. All of your messages and likes remain after you delete your account.
I have used GroupMe for years and appreciate the ease of creating group chats for various purposes, however, there are plenty of bugs that have been present for weeks that are still left unfixed.
1. I appreciate that GroupMe added “Topics” however, there is this glitch that labels users as “former members” in the individual topics. This makes it impossible to know who has liked your message, answered to a poll, etc. I would really like this to be fixed ASAP
2. Today, I’ve been receiving notifications every couple of minutes for messages that I have already read and liked. Why is this happening?

This app is great for communication and I use it a lot, there is one bug that has been really annoying where when I go to the app after getting notfis, the little red notification bubble that appears when the app is on Home Screen doesn’t go away even after I read all the messages. For example I had four messages yesterday, so I went to the app, read all of them, but the little notif bubble still says four. There’s no way to get it to go away except for getting lucky and reading messages which sometimes makes the bubble go away. Other than that great app it’s just that one thing
The only thing consistent about this app is that you cannot rely on it the shocking amount of instability never fails to impress me. The solution to these problems should never be to delete and reinstall it. You should just leave it alone. I check for updates regularly and it says that it’s updated yet. It’s the worst functioning app I have at this time and it’s my main source of communication with team parents and my family and it makes me wanna throw my phone. Congratulations on instilling anger issues on what appears to be most of your users from other reviews.
Where to start. App is routinely slow to load, late to load, or doesn’t load messages for up to 24 hours. This is not service related, as I have experienced this both on and off wifi, and in various locations of a populated area where all other apps work perfectly fine. When creating large groups, you will have to enter names in multiple times to ensure all group members are added. Example, a group I created recently says I added 30+ people, yet only 17 appear in group description. Do anything you can to avoid using this app.
