Lack of communication, customer support just didn’t ever get back to me?

I booked a trip to the UK with hopper. They emailed me about a week before my trip and said my return flight was changed to a time that was 5 hours earlier. They said if I was unhappy with the changes, then I should email them within 48 hours and they would get back to me with new options within 72 hours. I emailed them back right away and waited for over three days and never received an email from them with new flight options. I messaged customer support on the app about my reservation and explained the issue and I was given an auto response saying they would contact me shortly to address the issue. To no surprise, I have not heard back from them and I am departing tomorrow. Luckily I was able to sort things out directly with the airline, but the lack of communication from hopper is just unacceptable. Not to mention, there doesn’t seem to be any way to contact them. I read in a previous review that they prefer to be DMed on Twitter, but I don’t think I should have to create an account on Twitter to contact them. It’s just ridiculous.
Worst travel app ever

Hopper lists hotels for prices that they cannot fulfill. The purpose of the "freeze" is to get you to "buy-in" or invest in a room. The room is NOT available at the price they listed, and never was. Then the app conveniently does not respond when trying to get the money back. The app stops recognizing anything when it comes to returning your money. To top it off they do not have company support or a help center. Its a third party that simply regurgitates their "terms," which are set up to be a scam. I now have to call my credit card to report the company. Hopper essentially just steals peoples money and then blames it on the terms of the "freeze." Its so funny, now that I think about it, there was no other option but to freeze, the app would not allow me to pay for the hotel in real-time. Again this is because the hotel rooms are not actually available. They just get you to book a "freeze" then crash the app and keep your money. I cannot believe Apple allows this scam on their platform.

this app is absolute garbage. I booked a flight, but didn’t get confirmation number. there is no customer service number to call, the app chat just directs you to frequently asked questions, no personal response or interaction with live agent. while playing on app trying to get my confirmation number, I got a call from my bank saying there was suspected fraud on the credit card I used in the app to purchase my plane ticket. turns out the hopper app tried charging my card 4 times. still never received confirmation of one booking, even though my card was charged by Hopper for $376.14. that in itself is a crock, because when I clicked “confirm booking”, the price was only $297.86. again no number to call or agent to chat virtually with to get an explanation or correct the issue. The aren’t required to release the funds back to my card for 7-10 business days. this experience with the app has been a disaster, I highly recommend a different source for your travel needs.

I made a reservation with a hotel that looked beautiful in the app in photos. When I arrived it was not as shown. It smelled of cigarette smoke, had stains on the bed, a cigarette burn on the bedspread, food particles on the desk. I told the front desk I wanted a refund as I wouldn’t be staying there. Front desk says I need to get the refund from hopper. I went back and forth with them for a week. Eventually got frustrated and did a dispute with my credit card company who says they won’t give me a refund because it’s in hoppers contract to not be liable for things out of their control. Now that I don’t have a current reservation I can’t get ahold of customer service at hopper to try and resolve this. I will never use them again.

My wife and I love travel and the last couple times we have purchased exclusively through hopper. I have found outstanding prices on tickets to Europe (talking under $600 USD). The app is very user friendly. I love that I can request to watch a certain flight and it will send me a push notification if the price changes. I also enjoy that I can watch the same trip, but from different airports since I live between two international ones. It makes it easy to compare which one would be better. I usually only purchase basic economy, but I’m not too particular about bringing a bunch of suitcases, so it works out for us.

Love this app. I have learned to actually use it. The more you use it the better. I was in Daytona area in the winter for family things. First hotel booking was about $15 more HOWEVER some of the hotels said they were booked and I got in anyway with the hopper recommended hotel. The next visit I saved the original $15 plus another $10. So $25 in total. Same thing each additional time. I save on average $25. They have great reviews on their hotels too. What a phenomenal idea this Hopper app is. Constantly searching for the cheapest flight for you. Love it

I had the bad fortune of using this app for a recent booking, lured by a first-time promo. False advertising of room selection and a customer service team that seems to be trained to gaslight their users. I would report to the BBB, but I see they’re based out of Canada. They’re not even the company that books the room. When I checked in to the hotel she said the booking was through a different company than Hopper. Super scammy. STAY FAR AWAY!!!
Won’t give me a full refund

I had a cancellation with British Airways. They said I would get a full refund of 584.80. After waiting 3 weeks and filing complaints I got 510.43. They claim that is what I paid and my bank charged me more. I am still trying to get back $65.25. I have spent three days working on this. My recommendation is use any other travel program and NOT Hopper! They want to give me carrot cash. Won’t use them again

I purchased the insurance through Hopper on a flight that I cancelled days before the flight. When my credit didn’t come through (over a month) I tried to contact Hopper. They offer no contact information. No email, phone or messaging service. They claim you can access a chat through the app, but that is only if you have a current (future) booking. Extremely frustrating.
Don’t use, they will scam you out of money

Definitely read the fine print. Paid extra for the “cancel for any reason” feature. After my flight was cancelled twice in one day I had to cancel my trip and no longer needed the hotel. Hopper says that I will not be refunded now because it was after the hotel’s check in time started. Same day just a few hours later and they want to keep $1000 for the entire weekend.
