Respectfully your app still needs work despite the recent update. Not sure what bugs you fixed but it seems to have created a whole new set of them.
1. Still can take several hours for videos to sync, which I’m sorry but let’s not blame it on Wi-Fi or whatever else excuse you’d feed us because I can upload larger videos then the ones I’m sync from meta quest to YouTube with no problem and in a much short amount of time. Suggesting an uninstall/re-install only further proves the hot mess this app is in.
2. The app freezes when I try to save videos from the app to my phone. I have to force close and re open just to keep saving videos. I should be able to save these videos and edit them from the quest it’s self (I know that’s different from the app but I assume the teams work together)
FB makes billions off their business ventures so it’s revealing when you put out poorly a poorly functioning app. Sure we all like the bells and whistles (cast yourself in vr) but let’s get the core stuff right first.
We also need more editing options. I love to share content on YouTube. I’d love to be able to splice my videos or edit content straight from the app itself. As it stands I have to sync the video to my phone (assuming that doesn’t turn into a nightmare process) then download it from cloud on my phone so I can trim whatever I don’t need or want. From there share and save to my phone. Which starts a whole new process of editing
Not only is Meta not working on getting new games onto their platform, and not only are they forgetting this was for games and not “business communication,” but then they merge to Meta handling and I can no longer sign in. As well as many other people online. Facebook, instagram, email, no matter what I try to use to sign in, all of them try to redirect me to a page for meta.authorization and it only displays a white screen that does not load anything up. I cannot progress onto the actual app until I sign in the exact way it wants me to, which is impossible now, so I basically cannot get any more games or use the app in any shape or form.
The app itself has a recurring issue with casting as well, and I’m not sure if it makes a difference if I’m on the Quest 1 or not (it shouldn’t), but it sometimes just does not work. You’ll tap on cast and it only shows a black screen. Recurring theme of this review is blank screens. Overall it is also very glitchy and tends to need closing and reopening to get it to work. Sometimes it works though, which is why it got two stars.
Ok. I loved loved my Meta Quest to BUT it was only given to me at full cost without a lifetime of use. They updated to meta and somehow screwed up this operation and instead of just giving me what I’ve bought, paid for, became addicted to and am now unable to get for a couple months they have told me to scree off (although saying it very nicely).
Make someone addicted to something (mainly poker tbh) I spent 100s and 100s on chips, made friends and the whole deal and I’ve been locked out of my account for a couple months with “we are working on it, it’s a known issue”.
We’ll if it’s a known issue, just make a new account for me and give me my games and stuff I’ve won in poker and what not.
Instead I’m just waiting around with a new person every week saying “like my last rep said, we are working on it”. Middle finger to your working on it.
I bought it, it’s mine, by law, give it back to me or set up a new account.
If this problem is fixed no later than this week, than this 1 star and this review stays here forever.

My 13 year old son bought this on his birthday with his own money and we’re now on day 4 that we’re unable to login to the app so we have no way to use the VR device. We keep receiving an error saying “something went wrong please try again.” We’ve tried all the troubleshooting advice. Customer service finally got back to us through email and gave us the same basic advice we’ve already tried. We’ve spent way too many hours trying to fix this and we’re getting nowhere. I sent all the steps we took and screenshots. I probably won’t hear back again for awhile and there’s no way I’ve found to call customer service. What a huge disappointment!!!
Bought a Quest2 and had to create a Facebook account for using the device. After installing the app, the app asked me to choose a username for Meta Horizon profile. I tried 50 to 100 different usernames. Most of them are taken. The system suggested me to add numbers behind them, which I didn’t want to. Then I got banned by Meta. Because no matter what I input, it always shows ‘username is not available’. Now I wasted a lot of time and don’t know what to do. Without the account, I even can’t use Quest 2!
Loading the app is a bit slow no matter how fast the internet. Then the pics you take in the VR world don’t always sync to the app on your phone(at least not all of them) & then to delete them off of your phone you need to get back on your VR headset to do so and if you don’t remember to unsync and then delete them then they will stay on your phone permanently. There is no way to delete it off of your phone after that. The app needs a lot of work!
When opening an app lab game with a smaller device such as an iPhone SE first generation you get the menu it clips out of the box and doesn’t go away there is no button to make it go away there is no way to make it go away and otherwise you cannot update a game to a beta version that’s on App lab other than that this is a really good app
A few days ago I went to look on the store and I was signed out of the app. Trying to log back isn’t working. It’s not letting me sign in with Facebook, instagram, email, anything. Every option I press brings a pop up saying “error occurred.” I’ve tried deleting the app and redownloading it now several times to no avail.
I have tried for three hours but it keeps telling me error try a different code over and over again and it still won’t work I’ve tried everything what was the point in even switching from Facebook it’s the same thing just a different name and what like 2 minor changes nobody cares about
It’s been nearly 2 weeks since I purchased this device for my child, and the app is still dis functional. Support keeps stringing me along, and the device won’t work unless it can be paired to the app. If you don’t intend to fix the app just give me my money back! This is ridiculous.
