So like others said, it’s really fun when you first get the game and destroy people. Then it’s like once you get the better players and level up, your “great” 5 star players decide to be absolute garbage and ground out or pop fly straight up. There’s really no skill to this game at all. You can time your swing perfectly on a hard fastball down the middle and you’ll be lucky to get it past the infield. Now, that fastball either comes every pitch or 1/10 pitches with the other 9 being in the dirt or what appears to be some ridiculous breaking ball in your face (but gets called a strike). My favorite balls are those that are looking outside and then magically a split second before the plate cut inside. The players perspective is so bad that you can’t tell up and down, only left and right. Then just tap and hope your guy knows how to connect that swing. Even when you hit it into the gaps in the infield sometimes the trash players on the other team become godlike and make a SportsCenter Top 10 Play of All Time and get you out. Also what is really frustrating is on the walk-off challenge when you need one run and you sky a ball to deep right field and the guy on third just stands there all athletically like he’s waiting to dig out home........ but he just stands there......unmoving....... which would be fine if the guy swinging the bat at that perfect pitch with the perfectly timed swing(which is the only skill in this game) can hit it past the pitchers mound next AB. Also did I mention it’s almost impossible to tell a pitch because of how laggy they are?
Oh and you can’t forget how money hungry they are. Every day there’s something new and different to buy and I honestly don’t see the point because it offers no advancement whatsoever and the odds are definitely not in your favor with the loot boxes. Also if you purchase anything it disables the annoying ads that pop up all the time, so I did....... only issue is that the Tap Sports store ads still pop up after every game with conveniently located “buy now” buttons that are in the same location as the “next” buttons so if you aren’t paying attention you could buy something on accident. Pretty shady app if you ask me, BUT it must work because they keep making these horrible games and people must keep spending money on them. I will say I’ll probably keep playing because of boredom during quarantine, but I’m definitely not spending anymore money on this trash.
I played this game for about 5 hours and I thought it was going well. Then I ranked up and realized that I was far, far behind. And no matter what I did, no matter how many times I tried, I could not pull a single pitcher over 2 stars. So when i tried to play a game I was constantly matched up against far superior pitching that held me to less then 2 runs a game while my team gave up 8+.
Another flaw is that I couldn’t use my ace unless I had an ice pack. EVERY SINGLE GAME. Wether I used him the previous game or not. Yet I always got matched against the opposing teams ace which is super fair.
It bombards you with offers for everything, and the game also has in game pop up ads that become annoying after a while but that only started after about the 3 hour mark. Up to that point it was optional. And of course this happened after it asked me if I wanted to rate the game which is why I always wait until after that message to post my reviews.
The hitting mechanic is garbage and makes absolutely no sense. The camera angle is as if you’re sitting 5 rows up looking down which is super confusing on low pitches. Some pitches are impossible to judge where they are going because they can make sporadic movements that are just unfair( for example a slider starts in your batters box and then moves to the center of the plate). Then if you somehow manage to actually hit one it won’t even make it past the infielders that are always shifted up the middle or the outfielders that can run faster than Usain bolt.
This game needs a different camera angle, a bigger field, and less bs when trying to hit.
If you’re looking for a game that you either want to waste a few hours or spend a bunch money on then go for it. It does have a variety of game modes that will keep you interested. If not for my bad rng I could excuse the rest of it’s flaws, it is just a mobile game after all.
This game is fun and I want to say I am on a top tier club. That said you have to spend money to be on a top tier club and to be successful.
Where Glu gets this one star is in their customer service. I have already had two major problems:
1) they have poor advertisement on what you are spending to get items. I was using frack odd coins to buy something when it switched over to my gold reserves with no warning and cost me about 6500 in gold. A warning would have prevented me from using gold on such a ridiculously priced item for gold. Glu said no refunds on accidental purchases.
2) their odds for many players are not accurate. It says you have a 2% chance of getting a 5 star player so after 250 open boxes you should have probably hit that guy 5 times based on the odds, but no, you get the same 3 star player about 60% of the time which is 25% higher than the stated odds.
All in all, if you spend expect to get screwed from time to time. They will steal your money if you are not careful.
This is the 3rd year I had played Tap and it is getting worse every year. This year it seems you can never watch a video for rewards. They are never available when you need them and sometimes you will get a video for bonus and watch it and receive no reward. Especially on that tennis game add. Also once you get a little ahead, good luck winning any events. The game cheats. 3 dinks right to the pitcher every time even with different battles in the last Club vs Club event. I must have tried 50 times with different batters and the same result every time, right to the pitcher. If that’s not cheating then I don’t know what the hell is. I have spent money on the previous years and have a little this year but think I am not going to drop another dime on it anymore. Unless you have hundreds or thousands to spend, you won’t get far. It is more frustrating than enjoyable. 1 star.
The first thing that really frustrates me about this game is the fact that the outfielders are running at the speed of light, as soon as the ball leaves the bat wherever the ball is hit, the outfielder is there so there are barely any doubles in my game unless you hit an absolute screamer in the gap. Also, when you hit fly balls the out fielders will catch everything no matter where you hit the ball.
The pitching in this game is also atrocious, because of the way the perspective of the batter the ball looks like it is a strike every time but it’s in the dirt. The fielders also play in really weird shift positions like the shortstop is behind second base sometimes for some reason.
If the developer fixes these problems this game would be absolutely fantastic but as of right now this game is below average for me
I have enjoyed TSB throughout the years but this year I have to say I am very disappointed I am currently at bronze level 6 maxed out at everything and now they keep matching me with gold level players tht are way above me so I cannot win any matchups nor bonus games or anything and because of tht I cannot move forward to silver level so basically this game is pointless to play unless u don’t plan on being in a club and scoring points or improving your team at first it was great lose some win some but now tht I am capped at bronze Instead of matching me with people a little higher or a little lower than me they match me with people tht are 15-30 thousand team strength higher every time so yeah pointless to spend money on this game and I have written in to VIP SUPPORT and they just give me basic responses
I used to love this game. But the developer, Glu has taken screwing their customers to an all new level.
Buggy software heck yes. Let’s publish it
Horrible customer service that lies to its game base and treats them crappy. Let’s publish it.
Crummy Boxes with worthless players that you will pull sometimes 10-11 times in a row
Let’s publish it.
Players that cheat and glitch their way to unbeatable heights ...let’s publish it. (DFBB)
Unplayable game modes with difficulty ratchets up so high that legitimate teams that spent actual money on the game can’t even enjoy playing it? Let’s publish it.
Zero value for the money spent. I regret putting any money into it.
Glu can have it.
Just a terrible game. I wrongly assumed that an MLB branded game would be the gold standard for a baseball video game. Where to start: Yes you choose your team, but some of the most popular players have to be purchased, including cover-boy Aaron Judge. Do the developers try to be current with the lineups? My Yankee team had someone named Eric Kratz (who?) and Didi Gregorius (many months after he decamped the real Yanks.). The game boils down to hitting, but you only have a birds eye view of the pitch. That’s irritating when so many pitches bounce in front of the plate. Finally the game play is unrealistic: My opponents make 3 fielding errors per game. Booo!
I liked this game up until the recent update. The game will not load and constantly gives the network error message. I tried changing networks, restarting my phone, and even deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing worked. I contacted the sport for this game and for two weeks straight the kept telling me to try the same things I already had to get it to work. I pointed out that on their twitter page many people have said they were having trouble with this game, but yet they refused to admit there was a problem. So I highly suggest you don’t play this game or any games they make.
This game is absolutely horrible when pertaining to real life statistics. Your team could be stacked with the best players but if you are playing a computer team with a decent record, your players will fly out or ground out consistently, even if you decide to spend gold and get a boost. As for the view while batting, a pitch in the dirt has the same appearance as a fastball. It is very deceiving. I spent the money to upgrade my team and it is the most regrettable money I have ever spent. Very disappointed! I would rather play NES Baseball from 1985 over this game.
