Updating from last review: guess what? NOTHING has changed. It’s just become worse. Seriously, who ever has had a hand in the redesign and whoever is in charge of updating this app needs a new job. Nothing works, ever! I am so disappointed in this app, and we’ll be losing the card and app! So unfortunate.
This latest update is AWFUL! There is no ease of flow to the app anymore, my tap to view balance is gone -which I loved- because I didn’t have to sign in. The check to card is longer available on the app -again, I loved it because I could just add birthday checks without leaving the house- the app is extremely slow and lags. I just can’t believe you guys would change it so drastically and make it worse than before. That’s a shame.
01/08/21 I haven’t received a new emerald card, and now my card information is completely removed from the system! Not only that, I qualify for the full $1,200 for a stimulus, and I only received half! So where the f is my other half, my new card AND my money that was on the old card?!

After H&R Block switched banks, they never clarified how people will be getting a new emerald card since the one I have now is still from Axos. I haven’t received one in the mail, and no one is telling me anything. This is my only debit card. So check to card has to come back, and I need to know how the banking system will go now that banks have been switched for the emerald cards.
First, my app kept crashing within seconds of me clicking on it. Now, am I the only one who no longer can find the “check to card” option for emerald card?! I cannot find it anywhere on the app. It used to be located in a convenient spot for easy access. The website tells you how to locate the “check to card” on the previous app. I’ve called customer several several times and they make me wait and listen to a bunch of nonsense for a while until finally an automated voice tells me that they cannot answer my call due to call volumes and then it hangs up.
Please bring back the old set up!
IRS incorrectly sent stimulus payment to H&R Block. Downloaded the app hoping to get customer support, but there is none. Every phone number hangs up on me. When you most need their help, they abandon you. If you use H&R Block to file your taxes, make sure that after you get your refund, call the IRS and update your direct deposit information because these guys will take over any future payments, and then you can’t call them to get your funds.
I am beyond frustrated with the way that H&R Block has setup the emerald card to force that we have to download an app to check our balances and such! I have tried so many times to open up this app and as soon as I open it up it will blink and shut down! I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling that doesn’t work. I’ve wasted time, downloaded an app that does me no good and still don’t have the information I need from my emerald card account!

I use to love this app and the emerald card. However sense the new update occurred along with a new look for the app the app works only part of the time. I cannot get the check to card feature to work at all in the last few days. Sense the update I have at least been able to get it to work sporadically up to this point but now not at all. This is ridiculous. Updates are suppose to improve an app not ruin it.
My H&R Block app will not open at all. I had to go through my web browser to sign in once I signed in I was able to get on but when I went to the finance section to re download the app after I deleted it, it will not allow you to open the app at all very very disappointing this is suppose to be a reputable website and can’t believe it’s not working especially with everything going on with covid19
Would work great I’m sure if the app would actually open for you to use. Every time I’ve tried to open it since you guys have updated it, it immediately shuts down and I can’t get in to view my account. This needs fixed ASAP! P.S I hate calling the number on the back of the card bc I don’t want to listen to all the crap I have to listen to in order to get to my balance! Ugh!! Fix it!!!!!
I’ve done business with them for many many years. Question/issue with my stimulus check (because you file direct deposit with H&R Block the use their bank account # to deduct moneys owed to them). After 5 calls it says “sorry we’re busy and can’t answer you, goodbye!!!!” Really it’s 2021 and any Joe blow can work from home with a headset and field your calls. Adios
