Makes Life Easier. Until it doesn’t.

I don’t understand how the Fitbit integration functionality stops working all the time. They fix it, then it is as if some idiot in software at myfitnesspal decides to change the code for some reason, and the whole functionality stops working again. I really don’t understand why they make it so hard. I was dreading the moment I started counting calories. But this app has literally thought of everything. The UPC scan function is beyond helpful. And the app is able to pull recipes from the internet and compute the calories for you. It interfaces with the ios motion tracker, so even if you don’t exercise on a day, it calculates calories based on your step count. Which is really great because I don’t wear any kind of smart watch. At this point, I enjoy the moments I enter my calories.
Just wow

I’m a young 15 year old and saw this app and it looked like a good app to use and seems very reliable. But I cannot believe that it gives u a fake alert message when u try to put any year that doesn’t make u 18. For example, I did a test on this and put 2003 as my birth year, which makes u 17, and it gave me the alert. I put multiple years under 03 like 02,01,99,98, and everything worked perfectly fine. It’s a fake alert message and that just put me in awe that u must be 18 to use this app but u can obviously fake ur birth year and lie. Had to comment this because this absolutely wowed me on how it gives u a fake alert message because I’m not 18.
Please add water tracking

I’ve enjoyed the app for a few years. Excellent for a food diary. I’m only recently experimenting with the exercise diary, and I appreciate the links to articles for workout plans and the fitness articles as well. BUT I would love to see an option to enter a water-drinking goal and to receive reminder alerts to drink water. There are smart alerts you can set to log your meals, the app is smart enough not to remind you unless you haven’t logged. A water reminder that works this way would be amazing. I really think that’s all that’s missing in this app.
Used to be good

I used to appreciate this app. However, more and more often recently, the app is having errors. It will say it is updating when I open it and will stay on the loading screen. If I close and reopen the app, it stays stuck; I have to wait until the app decides to cooperate to be able to access my diary. Today, the newest problem is that it won’t let me search for any food. It says there are no matches for basic things like pickles. Too many bugs recently for me to give it higher than a three star. When it works, it’s good enough for tracking meals.

My fitness pal has its pluses and minuses. I like the food tracking app and that you were able to scan foods and create recipes. This is very helpful in keeping you accountable and keeping accurate track of your caloric intake. However there do seem to be some issues with how accurately it counts walking calories by using steps. Also some of the nutritional information in the food list is not accurate; for example one cup of dates having 60 cal. All in all though I think it is useful and so far has been helpful to me.
What a great way to lose weight
Happystart on 2020-07-13
This program just gives you the facts about what you put in your mouth. There isn't anyone looking over your shoulder but you. So, you don't feel guilty about what you are eating. I also like that it keeps track of your exercise and adjust your food intake accordingly, so you can add more food if you want. I also like the blogs and nutritional information this app gives me. However, the app has been a little temperamental and I’ve had to reboot it a couple of times in the last two months.
One suggestion
bsnsjsbsjzisbsjs on 2020-07-13
Overall an awesome app! But one suggestion hope you guys can take. As me, and others who have eating disorder, sometimes we pay too much attention to food. Is is possible to choose whether show the total calories or not. In this case, we can only see the calories after we choose to (maybe at the end of day or week). I am hoping to eat 1500 calories per day. When I track everything I ate, if I see 1400 calories, I would force myself to eat 200 calories, which actually made me eat 2000 in the end.

I’m not sure what happened recently, but I can no longer use the search function in the community page on the app. It requires me to login, but the Facebook login button doesn’t work. I tried logging into MyFitnessPal’s website on safari on my phone, but I can’t login through Facebook there either. The page opens up another page, then closes it, and I’m back at the login screen. Please fix this! This makes using the community aspect completely useless!!

Had been using for months. Really liked the app. However, since the update 3 days ago, the Search feature is useless (unless a food was recently in your history)! Type in Bagel and says “We can’t find what you’re looking for. Tap the + above to create your own food. “ THIS HAS RENDERED THE APP COMPLETELY USELESS! Within less than 24 hours of posting this, a correction was made to fix the Search feature! My Fitness Pal truly deserves a 5 * rating!
Great App!

MyFitnessPal keeps me mindful of what I eat, drink and how active I am. It monitors Macros, nutrients, calories and my weight. I get to review and adjust any mistakes I’ve made in the past so I can improve in the future. I compare the results I am seeing and feeling to what I was eating and doing on a particular day to ascertain what is really working for my body. It’s exactly what I needed to get dieting and exercise right.
