Great when it works
James880893 on 2020-12-03
I love the fact that I can see all the news stories in one place instead of trying to look all over the web for them. However, I also deleted this app due to the many glitches I have encountered which cause frustration when there’s a story your really interested in reading. I’ll receive a notification for a news story, and after clicking it, the app will open up. Then 9 times out of 10 I’ll click to open the story and nothing will happen. I have to close the app and then reopen it, then try and search through the articles to find the one I received a notification for. Since I tapped the notification, I’m not able to tap it again. I usually just give up and go search google. The same thing tends to happen with the stories I might be interested in that show when scrolling to the bottom. The first link might work, but the rest won’t work at all. Of course when I go online to use the news-break website, I always end up getting redirected to open the app for the article.
Good for news, but lots of biased commenters
Angel_G_ on 2020-12-03
The app has lots of information for both local and nation wide news sources. The main problem is the people in the comment section. Lots of people are spreading false information and conspiracy theories that danger other users. There is also a lot of negativity due to the politics talked about in the comments. Mostly conservatives insulting both health scientists and political leaders (past and present). I’ve seen the insults on both sides, ranging from insulting intelligence, appearance, and beliefs (including religion). The news sources are very helpful when gaining information, but the people in the comments are horrible to deal with.
Tired
#overthebs on 2020-12-03
Tired of your narrative about the President of the United States Donal Trump. He is fighting for a fair election no matter the outcome. All y’all can do is just speculate of a negative reaction and infuriate the country with your Nonsense. Of course he will concede and of course he will leave the White House if it is not over turned. But until then he is STILL THE PRESIDENT. So have some respect. Started doing your actual jobs of reporting the NEWS, like the fact that there is irregularities and get to the bottom of them. Or Hunter Biden’s laptop, and whats in it? Otherwise you are a joke.
Racism Propaganda
Tsidii Yazzie on 2020-12-03
I really like to read news, but actual news. It seems like I have to constantly push the “I’m not interested button” in all of this black propaganda. I don’t need it shoved down my throat but it seems like every time I refresh the app there are six more articles than there was last time about blacks. As a Native American I think it is offensive that we always have this black propaganda push down our throats, we are all the same.. every news story matters, the color of our skin doesn’t matter. Give us real news instead of pandering.
New Update is Glitchy
Used frequently on 2020-12-03
The newest update is a bit glitchy? When I'm scrolling it seems kind of "jumpy" with where it actually seems like you're changing channels. The scrolling in a few stories also seems to be the same way. The ads also seem to be more intrusive and higher in number. Then one of the most annoying thing, please stop with the constant banners asking me to turn on notications!!
Working that overtime you say
imtz86 on 2020-12-03
Working that overtime, is more like working hard to add more ads, and now pop ups ads. This ads are taking all the screen on the device. I guess developers want us to read the ads more then to read the article news. FYI the more the ads are promoted the more money the developers get. I gotta say everything is about the money now days. News breaks is more like “ ads breaks onSteroids”
Forced to use the app
Discodamon on 2020-12-03
My dad often sends me articles through News Break. There is usually a bait page which shows the first paragraph of the article, and a ton of ads, but you can’t read any more of it unless you download the app and read it from there. Incredibly annoying to have yet another news app taking up space on my phone, when the developer clearly has the ability to post the page online. Lame.
Waste of time
Jeeves34 on 2020-12-03
The stories pop up on facebook but then when you click on one it to read it or watch the video it just takes you to news break home page and you can’t find the article or video. There also is no search bar to help find that video. If you click on a article or video it should just take you straight to that article or video. What a frustrating waste of time!!
Pretty good, but leaning a little to far left
everythingthatgood on 2020-12-03
I like to read your news. It’s refreshing at times. The local news is a nice touch too. Seems like a lot of the articles lean left, so maybe focus on even and far coverage. Get more than one opinion, ask around. I like that my comments don’t seem to get censored. I’m just waiting for that day. Then I shut it down just like Twitter! Anyway for now nice job!
Reason for a 3
cohunny387bunny on 2020-12-03
I really enjoy newsbreak for the most part...however...the fact that I can’t get some of the information or the fact that I must “sign up” for a newspaper or watch a commercial is extremely annoying to me...I usually just skip the whole thing...I don’t have the time to deal with it. I usually just read the titles and move on if I can’t get the info easily
