Absolute garbage
gcain99 on 2021-09-21
The app design is terrible. They really try to force their stupid feed concept on you, and make finding specific programs or checking what’s playing at a certain time (live sports) a frustrating experience. All of that earns this app a single star rating. Regarding the service itself, I sincerely hope that it either fails or NBC loses/sells the rights to Premier League broadcasting. They have nearly ruined the ability to enjoy my favorite sport, and I find my favorite team in that sport to constantly be thrown on the Peacock premium service. Good job NBC executives, you’ve messed with my ability to watch a game I love without paying $5 a month for an otherwise awful service that is completely unworthy of subscription. You are the worst, NBC. UPDATE: I broke down and started paying this year so I could watch more games. Amazingly (or not), this terrible service and it’s live sports component do not offer the ability to pause, rewind or record. I could see no record option because extended data storage can become complex, but creating a buffer around an event’s schedule times to allow pause, resume, rewind and fast forward is pretty standard stuff. Once again, this app and service as a whole are awful. Still a 1-star experience.
Money grab monopoly
whycantibuyitnowp on 2021-09-21
The only tv service to stream premier league is NBC (ridiculous that only one network would have a complete monopoly and not give users freedom of choice). So to watch regular NBCSN and premier league you need one subscription. Ok sure that is fine. Now that is not enough money for greedy people at the top so they came up with peacock. So now to watch SOME (not all) premier league games we have to pay 5 dollars a month. On top of these two sources of income the service is not ad free so they still make money off of ads that they shove down our throats. You cannot get the app on a tv so we have to watch it on phones or ipads or whatever. Absurd way to exploit people. I will never pay for this app! And I wish that more people would refuse because corporations like this have so many lawyers that the only way they can learn their lesson is if people stop giving them money.
Like everyone else, content vs function
B illz on 2021-09-21
This service has outstanding content and awful video/audio quality and functionality. It’s embarrassingly bad. The search function is useless. It doesn’t work especially for wwe. It’s also the only app I have out of many that constantly pauses for a split second while you stream to tv. Constant and I mean constant short pauses that are so short that you keep watching but you’re extremely annoyed while watching. I don’t think any show or movie is 1080p and nothing even looks to be. In 2021, 4K and hdr for movies are a necessity. Audio has a very tinny quality to it, needs to be optimized as most people are watching this on their tv with a soundbar or audio system. That being said having the office full series as well as many good movies and all the wwe pay per views in one place is amazing, when and if it gets fixed this will be the BEST service.
Worst Streaming App.
Dannygreene on 2021-09-21
Norte Dame’s decision to allow NBC to use their mediocre Peacock streaming service is awful. First, the app does not stream to a Chromecast or other device from the desktop version. Second, the app never casts to Chromecast via IOS. Third, there is no customer service support or technical support system in place to handle immediate issues. Any deep technical issues get handled at the convenience of Peacock rather than the consumer. After reaching out to Peacock, I was never contacted back by anyone from technical support. How many times was the app tested before launch? So the developers actually use the application consistently? Why were there so many European consumers disappointed with their service?
BEWARE: glitches and terrible customer service!
Unsub_Scribe_NOW!!! on 2021-09-21
BEWARE: glitches and terrible customer service! Ordered premium plus and over halfway through the month’s paid subscription the app had an error and reverted my account to the free account and locked me out of premium! After given proof of my subscription they still refused to turn my service back on, give a refund or offer any help at all other than refer me to contact Apple! After several emails back and forth I stopped receiving replies from them for days! And when they finally contacted me back, Apple had already taken care of it. Beware, Peacock will try to steal your money!!
Look elsewhere for NFL
CJM3204 on 2021-09-21
Got peacock because it said it streams live football games. I feel like I looked into it enough to assume that the app would show multiple games at once but no. Got home today to watch some Sunday football games and none were available to watch, just one late game for the whole day. I’ve paid for the premium option and feel like I’m still getting basic service with the limited options showing. Definitely cancelling my subscription after less than 2 weeks. Will look elsewhere for the availability of being able to actually watch football games.
Constants ads when you pay for non ad tier
Drfilm330 on 2021-09-21
What a scam this is. You pay for the premium tier to get ad free. Every single movie I have watched still has ads, and what’s worse is the abruptly stop the movie to run in ad. Even Hulu lower tier with ads didn’t interrupt the movie for ad. I get the fine print says “some movies” might have ads but every single movie and randomly stopping the movie multiple times for a 20 second ad ruins the film. I will be cancelling for sure and you should save your money and just not pay especially for premium, it’s one huge lie.
Premium plus still has ads - annoying
C_T_S on 2021-09-21
We subscribed to the $9.99 premium plus version for several months, and most movies we tried to watch still had ads. Turns out if you read the fine print, paying for this service doesn’t eliminate ads for lots of shows and movies. So what’s the point of paying? We canceled. Maybe we’ll subscribe for a month next time we want to bing watch one of the old tv shows on this service. But it’s definitely a 3rd tier service compared the Netflix, Amazon, HBOMax, Disney+, and Paramount.
Is the objective to get people to watch?
mmghel on 2021-09-21
Peacock can be downloaded on my iPhone and iPad. Peacock cannot be downloaded to prime video channels. I cannot put peacock on any of my 3 Amazon fire sticks. I cannot mirror peacock from my iPad to my 65in Samsung TV. So, if I want to watch anything on peacock it needs to be on my iPhone. Hey, Peacock: I only stream. I don’t buy cable. I’m not afraid of a 4.99 or 9.99 channel. Yours is SUCH a pain to watch that I would literally need to buy a new TV to do it. No thanks!
Glitchy, awful app
BN19843275 on 2021-09-21
This is by far in a way the WORST streaming app I have used. The content is great. Tons of options. Unfortunately NBC couldn’t be bothered to make an app that actually functions. Constant freezes, can’t stream downloaded content on an Apple TV, has to be reinstalled every other day. It’s a shame the developers couldn’t make an app that functions as designed. The content is worth the money, I just wish is easier easier to watch.
