Garbage Service for Football Fans
quasar fillingham on 2021-04-12
I signed up for peacock as a way to watch the “best” matches in the premier league. Over the past 3 months, I’ve barely been able to watch any. The only matches shown are the lower league dwellers. Why pay for games I don’t even want to watch? What happened by showing all the mouth watering games of the prem? Unfortunately without cable or an alternate cable service there is no way to only watch the premier league. ESPN crushed it with their low cost service of serie a, bundesliga, European qualifiers, etc. but NBC can’t seem to put aside its greed. Although NBC’s prem coverage is arguably the best coverage of all leagues in the US. ALSO, let’s talk about the technical aspect of peacock. Firstly it doesn’t work on my chrome cast which is a huge bummer, either I need to start up my PS4, laptop, or I’m stuck on handheld. Secondly it buffers like a madman. Ultimately this is not the solution. The premier access app was much better. Keep football separate from all the nbc nonsense no1 wants to watch. People will gladly pay 5-10 bucks for an all encompassing premier league only app. At least I would, just cut the fat and give people what they want. Till next time nbc. Just dumped your app and service as it serves no point in my life.
Very Disappointed-need to work out the AirPlay kinks out
ShahB on 2021-04-12
UPDATE: STILL VERY DISAPPOINTED. I would have considered paying for the app but instead deleted it (again) in 15mins. WHY? Maybe because the ONLY WAY FOR ME TO WATCH IT IS ON MY PHONE!? Cant airplay it? Cant download the app on my Smart TV?? Still not worth the hassle. How is this not working/amateur hour app still a thing?? The dev team in charge of building this app should be fired. ————— I have an old Apple TV so I couldn’t download the app on it. So I downloaded it on my iPhone X and was ready to stream a movie. It connected to my Samsung pretty easily and I watch the first part of the movie until a commercial kicks in. It disconnected and then started a whole new set of commercials. Then the movie started playing in fast forward. Super fast forward. So I quit the app and did the whole thing again. Same thing. I did it again!! That’s three times now of 5-7 minutes each time. I then quit and I’m done. Bad user experience. Need to QA and figure out commercials implementation across platforms. Kinda of sad for such a large app.
Absolute garbage
gcain99 on 2021-04-12
The app design is terrible. They really try to force their stupid feed concept on you, and make finding specific programs or checking what’s playing at a certain time (live sports) a frustrating experience. All of that earns this app a single star rating. Regarding the service itself, I sincerely hope that it either fails or NBC loses/sells the rights to Premier League broadcasting. They have nearly ruined the ability to enjoy my favorite sport, and I find my favorite team in that sport to constantly be thrown on the Peacock premium service. Good job NBC executives, you’ve messed with my ability to watch a game I love without paying $5 a month for an otherwise awful service that is completely unworthy of subscription. You are the worst, NBC.
Content is there but app is slow, freezes up
6DogsMore on 2021-04-12
Running this app on a new LG smartv Plenty of content, no complaints there. What is completely annoying is how sloooooow this app is to load or to maneuver around. Also, don’t dare to pause your program, the app will freeze up and you’ll be forced to exit and go back to get it going. And it won’t “resume” where you left off, even if you choose that option. “Resume” just takes you to the beginning of the program. The FF and Rewind also don’t work 50% of the time. It will rewind but then you can’t stop it. So, yep, back to the beginning you go whether you like it or not. I’m watching a series now but due to these bugs, I don’t know that I will continue to use this app for future streaming. Prob not.
Bad news for wwe fans, 0 stars
2girls3doxies on 2021-04-12
Got this app because they acquired the WWE app. It’s horrible. You cannot pause or rewind live events. You must catch it at the beginning or wait till it’s completely over to watch what you missed. Also have to click on each individual show instead of seamless streaming like the old app. If that wasn’t bad enough, the removal of “controversial“ content is completely disheartening. Not everything is PG for a reason, most fans are not children. A better idea would have been to go with parental controls like most other apps do. Worst acquisition in history! I would rather pay the extra $5 a month and actually get something worth my money.
I Want to Love It...
JenMomma5476 on 2021-04-12
I really want to love this app and streaming service. There are some shows available in the free tier that I am really interested in. The problem I have is that I am unable to mirror it from my iPad to my Samsung TV. Who wants to watch on a tiny little screen when there’s a TV right across the room? It just seems petty and petulant to me for NBC to try to control how we watch A FREE SERVICE. You lose nothing if I watch it on my TV rather than on my handheld device. Audio comes through and some small little video clips can be mirrored. But actual shows and movies cannot be. It’s ridiculous. Clear this up and the review will go up.
Change the layout of the app
13dubz on 2021-04-12
It’s annoying to login to the app and see trending in your face. I want to see movies and tv shows not trending. This is how I would like to see the app when I first login. As soon as the app loads I should see my watchlist and other movies and tv shows. Just like Hulu and Netflix does. Then on the top how you have different genres, make a trending tab and a channel tab. The 3 different tabs on the bottom is annoying and not necessary. In addition, there needs to be more popular tv shows and movies. It’s nice that you have some classic shows on there but you need more current items.
Not a fan of the WWE move
WonBigC on 2021-04-12
Moving WWE network to this platform was by far the worst business decision WWE could’ve made. Why is the content censored? Content is missing from the platform?? It’s not user friendly. I was a auto paying customer for years and I can assure you I won’t be signing up for this platform. Where’s WCW Monday nitro? I only subscribed for the older content. Most of the fan/customer base is over the age of 30. Unbelievably disappointing. I’m sure the the next step is stock liquidation. Good for short sellers but not there investors or lifelong customers..
Could be better
Becca ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) on 2021-04-12
Needs improvement in several functions, the app feels outdated. - There is no skip intro/outro function that most streaming apps have - It takes a while to load when switching between apps, unlike other streaming apps - It does not continue streaming outside of the app unlike other streaming apps, namely Disney+ and Safari - Amazon Prime Video has a better interface, has better loading times, and all of the items I listed above. I can't justify paying $7 per month to watch The Office if Peacock a worse version of each of its competitors.
Peacock does not deserve the WWE Network
Bubba M-707 on 2021-04-12
Right now, I am NOT liking Peacock. When I try to connect my iPhone or my mom’s iPad to an HDMI adapter, all I get is a BLACK SCREEN with ONLY AUDIO!!! First, I’m forced to get a subscription to to be able to watch the WWE Network, but they edit it further, not everything is up here and in disorder, and now, I can’t even enjoy it on my iPhone. Thank you so much, Peacock. Right now, I may have to choose a single star, but I give you a ZERO out of 5 stars!!! You DO NOT deserve the WWE Network!!!
