Signed up for FREE week got charged $4.99
Tololololololololo on 2020-06-05
I’m sick and tired of these deceitful apps illegally charging users for transactions they never did. Fake “free week”. Enough is enough. I just left a review earlier and now it disappeared. Go figure.. When you search for the app in the APP store there’s no price for it. That means it’s free. Only after you spend the time and energy to download it and use it a screen pops up to sign up for 1 YEAR subscription and try FREE for a week. I tried it for 2 days and unsubscribed because it kept giving me wrong information. I got charged $4.99 regardless. So not only you don’t mention this app costs money until you download it but you advertise a FREE WEEK scam for $4.99? You have 150,000 downloads. If only 10% of these users got charged $4.99 “accidentally” that’s 15,000 users x $4.99. That’s $75,000. How many users got charged $4.99 accidentally and how many went through the process to appeal the charge and get a refund. If you want to charge people for your stupid app then STATE so clearly. Don’t lie to them and secretly charge people. That’s illegal. Go ahead. Tell me how that was an error or how I must have clocked something. I have the screenshots
Free Trial?

I downloaded this app to identify a plant growing in my garden. The app is advertised as free with in app purchases. As soon as I opened the app, I was notified I was on a 7-day free trial after which I’ll be charged monthly for a subscription. I did not sign up for this. I can’t find any information about canceling this subscription. I really can’t afford to pay for a subscription right now. If I had known I’d be charged to open the app, I wouldn’t have downloaded it. I still have not identified the plant in my garden because I’m afraid if I actually use the app, I won’t have standing for a grievance in the event I’m charged. I’ve literally had it 10 minutes and I’ve spent the entire time trying to figure out how to cancel this subscription. I will be looking for another app to identify the plant in my garden.

Having moved to a much more suburban area of NY and surely not used to the overgrowth of weeds as I’m under construction, it helps an awful lot to figure out what plants or weeds are harmful or just invasive. After getting a really bad case of poison ivy or sumac (which i didn’t have this app then and would’ve helped greatly to avoid this disaster of irresponsibly wearing flip flops, shorts and a tank top to clear out weeds and other fencing that was left by previous owner), I take great care using the app to help me avoid this again. Plus it’s just a nice thing to have if you’re curious to learn as you go along.
Good app, but tricked me into purchase
LnghrnMatt on 2020-06-05
I was trying this app to help identify trees and plants. While out on a walk, I launched the app on my phone, which took a long time. I was presented with several screens to upgrade and incorrectly selected the wrong button in my haste to take a picture of a plant. I didn’t realize the purchase was made until after I got home and saw the charge on my credit card. I immediately cancelled the purchase, but the next day it appears the purchase went through. I feel this was deceptive and I hope the refund goes through without me having to dispute this with my credit card.
No Luck Using It
Bobbyjj1 on 2020-06-05
I really wanted to like this app, and I had no problem at all paying for the premium services, but I had no luck using it. It identified my split leaf philodendron as cayenne pepper, and it wasn’t able to identify most of the plants I photographed, a majority of which were really basic plants, such as basil and begonias. It did correctly identify my neighbor’s hydrangeas, but her boxwoods came up as jade plants. I had to cancel the premium, and I hated to because I really would have liked using the app had it worked correctly.

Plant identifier? No. This is laughable. It was able to correctly identify ANY of my plants. It called my garlic aloe, my black charm lilies Kamchatka, my rose bush it identified as a type of weed, and my cucumber as squash, and jalapeño as cayenne. I experimented to see if it was accurate, because I was going to use it to help me find the problem with one of my plants. I’m not going to waste my time hoping it can find the problem of it can’t even identify a single plant correctly.
I LOVE this app
Charpia on 2020-06-05
I never write reviews but this app has been such a life saver. I’ve been able to quickly tell if something that is sprouting is the seed I planted or a weed. I’ve been able to identify plants that I inherited when I bought my house and I’ve been able to expand my knowledge of plants in general. I rarely pay for the “Pro” versions of apps but I upgraded this one right away because I loved their app so much. Could not recommend more
Continuously charged me for 5 months
Tayoden on 2020-06-05
I even spoke to the rep on the phone. Sent multiple emails. Deleted the app and was still charged $30 a month just for downloading. No confirmation on payment 4 months ago. Then saw I was charged. Had it canceled and now I realize they’ve still been charging me. I would for the developers to send me an email. I’ve contacted Apple already but they said to go thru you.
Bad Service
Mikey611! on 2020-06-05
I signed up for the free trial to try out the app, did not want to keep the subscription, and canceled with 6 days left of the free trial. Received an email from Phoebe confirming my request. However, today I was charged $29.99 for the yearly subscription without my consent and after having tried to cancel both through the app and through customer service.
Report a misidentified plant
hidingannabella on 2020-06-05
I really enjoy this app and has really helped me out I definitely plants while on hikes but I noticed that every once in awhile it misidentifies a plant. I understand the app can’t get it always right but I won’t like to have a place to send in the misidentified plant but I haven’t found it yet. (It could be there) but other then this it is a great app.
