overall good, some qualms

ive been using ibispaintx since about 2019, and in the last year and a half drawing on my phone has been far more accessible to be than drawing on my computer with a tablet. the recent switch to apple was due, in part, to procreate! ive seen raving reviews, tried it myself, and when the opportunity arose to make the OS switch i snapped procreate up as soon as i could. the painting on this app is astonishing. it pulls color like real paint, it FEELS smooth, its almost tactile in a way. its genuinely something i didnt know was even possible on a phone. the line smoothing is also another really good feature. ive used a LOT of digital art programs in my life, and they all use the same kind of thing. it slows the cursor down. procreate feels like im laying down each stroke rather than letting the program guide my hand, which increases my line control! i love that its pen by pen as well, so the pen i use for my eraser wont have as much smoothing as what im drawing with. i do have a few issues that are genuinely upsetting, however. if it didnt break my workflow i dont think id care as much. when you select an area with the lasso and then go to transform it, the hitboxes for the corners is...weird. if im tapping in the middle and moving, i expect the whole box to move. but usually i end up catching an edge and changing the size. this is REALLY frustrating at times. i have to zoom in to move it, and then zoom back out to see if its even where i need it to be. thats one thing that every single other art program for phones gets right. if i didnt pay for it, it might be enough to keep me from using it honestly. this isnt just stuck to the select box either. the pen width and pressure ALSO have these massive hitboxes around them that i always seem to catch, as im right handed and tend to move left to right for quick/long strokes. this really is a powerful app. i have no interest in blowing a thousand bucks on an ipad and apple pencil to see if this problem persists on the ipad version of this app, but i can see it just being a trade off for the smaller screen. problems aside i love this app, i really do. i cannot imagine going back to ibispaint after playing with this for a week now, and i cannot recommend it enough for people who are really serious about digital art on the go!
Nice but missing a tiny important feature

I absolutely love this app. It’s very fun and has so many amazing options. The ability to make your own brushes and (almost) fully customize them is so great. I’m still a beginner but I’ve noticed a couple things that a lot of other more simple apps or programs have. One of them being about to redo part of an object with out having to use the “undo” button. When I erase something, it would be nice to redo only a small specific section on the entire piece instead of having to press undo. Also, being able to “un erase” other parts of the piece and bring back certain parts would also be so much easier and helpful but you can’t do that on this app. I’m not sure if it’s not possible for them to incorporate this or if they don’t have this option for a specific reason. I just hope that they can make that a possibility in an update. Another option is to be able to make brushes colorful (not talking about color dynamics or pressure) but the ability to keep a brush that specific color you’ve made (kinda like in Adobe fresco). I’m not complaining, just saying that it would be pretty cool since procreate allows you to fully customize every aspect of the brush but not that option. I think this app is amazing and I’m learning new things all the time. Thanks so much for all the hard work in creating this app/program! I’ll prob come back and edit this later on again.
I’ll live through this!

Okay, so I am just going to start off by saying that this is a good app I promise! Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttt there is one thing wrong with it, t h e r e. I s. N o. U n d o. B u t t on! It is probably the worst part it made it hard to create. I could not express how much I hate that! Ugggggggg!!!! You may be wondering what do you do when you mess up? Well the answer is, you either completely give up or if you are a genius than you can figure out how to do it and I would like to point out that I am not. This is an okay app but it literally has the worst features! I would not really recommend .
a little broken

i first got the og procreate app on my ipad 5 years ago and ive loved it ever since, more and more with each update. i recently got and iphone and figured id try the mobile app as well. im a little disappointed to be honest! i can understand having fewer features so the app can run smoothly but a couple things just seem to be broken. the main one that bothers me is the perspective tool. it always says "perspective guide empty" when you click it and wont allow you to create a vanishing point. thats the main thing thats bothering me right now but otherwise love procreate :)
The “double tap for quick menu” option
Pompom Pomona on 2022-01-27
The way you have it set up makes this function COMPLETELY REDUNDANT. Autodesk has a quick access hub for stuff like that and it works PERFECTLY. Your symmetry tool is an embarrassment. It’s clunky and frustrating to use. The line down the middle shouldn’t remain visible if the function isn’t in use, you idiots. I should also be able to choose when I can turn symmetry on and off? Is that ok with you? Can we use the function on the program we’re paying to use? Can it work correctly?
I’m confused

I love the brushes and all I’m just starting to use it and it’s very simple and all but it’s just something that frustrates me it’s about be trying to go back a step there is no bottom on the screen to go back a few steps cause I tend to make mistakes and I can’t seem to go back it so I have to erase the whole part and redo it I suggest putting one and if there is please make it more obvious it would really help
It’s all good but besides the pruge button-
i am lady grama on 2022-01-27
I wish the pruge button wasn’t an thing so you can still have all your recording in the end of your process like on ibs paint I wasn’t able to find out what the pruge button meant until it was to late I would like to find out a way on how I can get back the recording that I accidentally deleted but besides that it’s an very good drawing app ! It’s just the pruge button made me confused at the start -

jusjdhga on 2022-01-27
i like this app but i have a problem, so when ever I insert certain photos the color wheel becomes black and white. but when i insert a different photo all the colors in the color wheel are back. when I insert one of the photos that turn the color wheel black and white and insert another photo on that canvas that had color, the color in that photo becomes black and white too.

For starters I love the app but one thing i dont like about it is when you download it on your phone you cant do some of the things that you can do on a ipad… and being me i dont have a ipad so if you want more people to like and use the app make it useable for everything like iphones, samsungs, and like samsung tablets! Thanks for reading!
