Cash Management product is so bad
Sher991 on 2020-02-22
Hi, let me write a detailed review of your cash management product. First of all, I really appreciated Robinhood in how they pioneered in making stock market trades easy and with no commission. I was expecting that Cash Management product would be something very outstanding too. I'm using it for 2 months and it is a total disaster. It seems like you rolled out the product at a very early stage, you didn't even think about basic banking needs of a population and didn't study how banking works in US. The only good perk about your product (high APY) becoming very useless once you figure out how things actually work. Here are few of the problems that I have noticed so far. I've contacted you about all of those, but it seems like you either say it is how it is or you simply don't reply within 1-3 business day as you claim. 1. Direct deposit. In other banks when funds arrive, they start earning interest same day as they have arrived. In Robinhood you will have to wait till next trading day before they are swept. I got direct deposit on Friday Feb 14th, since Monday Feb 17th was a President's day, funds were swept on Tuesday Feb 15th. That means that I've lost 4 days of interest earning period, which is kinda very annoying. And what you said was it is how it is. 2. Interest accrual works same way as in (1). Once interest was paid, you need to wait till next trading day before it is swept. But that means that reported APY will never be achieved, since interest paid isn't accruing an interest for one day or more. 3. You have no idea how to deal with unrecognized transactions. I had $1 unrecognized transaction which I saw in Robinhood app. What you said was "contact your bank". I have no idea what that means. Is that Sutton Bank, is that one of your partner banks? In other banks you just report it and they take care of it. 4. I was marked as a Pattern Day Trader, and I understand that I won't be able to do Day Trades for 90 days unless my brokerage account balance in 25k or more. And I'm ok with that. But what you did is you just made my swept balance 0 and stopped earning interest on it. That absolutely doesn't make any sense. I had less than 25k in my swept balance, maybe you thought that you will automatically transfer swept balance to brokerage account so that I can do day trades, but still, since I had less than 25k, that approach is pretty much useless. I think you should ask customer whether he/she wants to transfer swept balance to brokerage account. I'm really fan of Robinhood, and I was ready to use it and send you my reviews, but it seems like you are indifferent about all those issues. Hopefully one day you will fix that. Meanwhile I'll have to transfer all funds to my ordinary bank. That will take a while , since I need to transfer all bill payments and direct deposits too. If you really want to do something good, please stop accepting new members to your cash management product and fix all serious issues you have there. Good luck
2 Questions Robinhood Refuses to Answer
Cr3ate on 2020-02-22
That sound you hear is the nail in the coffin of Robinhood as E*Trade gets bought out! No customer service phone number, no basic answers to fundamental security, selling our trades to companies that have been fined by the SEC. The Bulgarian founder and his SV sharks are getting what they deserve for so badly running this company. The big competitive edge is gone. I can call a Morgan Stanley broker any time and get them on the phone. Try doing that when you have to wait 24 hours for an email response when you think your account has been hacked (it was just knocked offline by yet another ROBtheHOOD failure). To the the people replying to the reviews. You don’t need a case number or my account information. I would NEVER randomly give you my personal information. That you would even ask for it shows how poorly you take security! Just answer the questions - there are no gotcha’s. You don’t need any personally identifiable information to answer them! 2/20 Robinhood has managed to release an update with a massive bug but still not able to answer two simple questions about account security! 2/15 Still no comment from the company how they deal with a hacked accounts or what happens if their system failures cost you money. 2/7 It has been a week and still no public (Or Private) answer on these two very basic question about security and loss due to failures at Robinhood. Are they afraid to address the issues? If so, why? For about 3 weeks Robinhood support staff and the staff trolling here refuse to answer these two simple questions about your money if it is stolen or lost due to technical failures of which there are apparently many): 1. If my account is hacked- Will you replace the stolen money? If so, how long before Robinhood replace the stolen money? Why does it take over 24 hours to respond to my concern the account had been hacked? 2. If I try to cancel an order so I can sell a stock and your app craps out (like it regularly does these days) and I lose money because I can’t login / cancel it, will Robinhood make up the loss? Why won’t you answer? How much at risk is our money from being stolen or lost?

Great Beginner App
lulglgggi on 2020-02-22
If you couple this app with a few other screeners and apps, you can get adequate practice and make good profit off of their zero commission trades. Trading, options, and even crypto (in some areas) are available, but you cannot short. However, the app does lacks in timely executing your market orders, so you might sell or buy at higher or lower prices - this has indeed happened to me. It has no screener, but provides basic news information, easy to understand charts, and is efficiently designed for ease of use; stock information and data is at your disposal and is easy to access. It’s trading format design itself is far less complicated and easy to use for any trader - especially beginners - than most competing apps, but this has both advantages and disadvantages. They should add more varying time and price charts for their stocks, like Webull - which has 5 min charts and up - one suggestion. Overall, i’d give it a solid 3.5/5.
Could have, should have, would have but I didn’t until now.

I started looking at the investment of stocks back in 1998. Just was looking and started slow. I put and easy hundred plus hours in reading studying too invest. And I started with my favorite five stocks and did well. Family issues arose and sold my investments to help. Commission stocks held me back from starting again sooner. Robinhood does not have every tool available out there but it’s a great app for beginners and novice. Use this as a learning tool and stop saying I will start later. The younger you are , and the determination to prepare your self for so much more. Literally or not eat and sleep wealth building and you have no choice but to build more than you ever dreamed. The wealthy will have know choice but to say welcome to the club. I thank Robinhood for this app. Other tool will help make better choices.
Terrible support for a pretty interface
Bluknight43 on 2020-02-22
This app has a decent UI but once you get under the hood, and if you run into problems you’ll see they have the worst support staff ever. I was able to use the app 3 years ago, then I stopped using it for a year, came back to use it and they wouldn’t let me transfer money, with the most useless error message “unable to link bank account” then the support team only deals in email communication so they take days to weeks for a response and they never fixed the issue after going back and forth for months. Finally I try to use it again and it still doesn’t work! I guess Motif and Cash app is the way to go. I normally don’t write bad reviews but this experience got me frustrated enough to actually write one! 0 stars please
POOR POOR Customer care
yeahyeahpubkk on 2020-02-22
If it’s only an email based way of communication make a rep respond as fast your bots. How do you do this to me as a customer freezing my money where I can’t withdraw it nor invest it I don’t USE your margins!!! What the hell guys you made me lose sooo much money these past two weeks with your poor customer service response time. This same thread is going on the app and play store. The masses are manipulated the Market Cap is 300$ over and your buy and sell limits never go thru unless it caters too their needs and profits being not YOURS. They WILL own your money once placed on their platform I don’t buy or trade stocks only the petty options you have for crypto’s which if someone reads could use some expanding
Would like to organize Watchlist
Tauß on 2020-02-22
Love this app for invest in stocks. But I feel like I have soooo many stocks in my watchlist now that it's difficult for me to analyze stocks and create different combinations or portfolios of stocks I could invest in. I would love if you guys integrated a function where we can create folders of stocks which the user can uniquely make up. Create a collapse function as well. You could even perhaps allocate different percentages of each stock in each folder so you could quickly buy a portfolio. May not be possible but I would like some kind of organization to the clutter of stocks in my watchlist.
Simple to use
abe pt on 2020-02-22
Great app to use if you’re planning on buying stocks for long term investing like index funds and blue chip stocks. Any other thing like penny stock and swing trading simply can’t be done using RH, it is missing way too much that other free brokers like Webull will offer. Extended hour trading is only 30 minutes before and after regular hours. Very simple and user friendly, still use it everyday just wish they added at least basics like RSI and MACD.
Simple, addicting app
Spartan015 on 2020-02-22
Works as advertised. Not meant to be used for super fast trading, more like buy something and don’t touch it for at least a day. One thing I’d REALLY like - be able to set alerts for stocks I’m investing in and “watching”. I.e. I want to know if over night or whenever, stock XYZ breaks X value. Just send a notification to phone. Another app I have for investing in crypto currency does this and I really liked that feature.
