It was already good before, but it is great now that there is a version specifically optimized for iPadOS (as it is a pet peeve of mine to have to use an improperly sized app screen when an app has only been optimized for iOS).
Being able to use it as a remote to control my devices is useful for those occasions (which are few and far between, but still) where the remote gets dropped in a place that is not so easy to retrieve.
The search engine in particular is wonderful to use to look up shows, and what streaming service(s) they might be on.
Really, my only complaint is that it doesn’t look up shows on more niche streaming services, such as those dedicated to anime (Funimation, Crunchyroll, and HIDIVE are the examples which come to mind right now).
Considering the massive selection of streaming devices available on the market, Roku has consistently been...my personal choice since 2011. Now using a Roku Stick+, watching 75% Roku and 25% Antenna TV. This app gives me the freedom to use my iPhone to control the Roku in the event of watching TV with someone else, who is a remote control hog, 😆. App has always been reliable, extremely handy and controls are intuitively well layed out.
To the Developer(s), great job and keep up the good work por favor.
If you haven’t downloaded this DOWNLOAD THIS NOW bestest of the best app works fine no glitches no ads it’s the best like I cnat belive this app existed I lose my remote all the time and now I don’t use it couse you can choose what thing like Disney neftlex Hulu ect best thing ever to exist I never I thought I would find the perfect app like this is just a best app on the app store very satisfied with this app thanks so much for making this.
As stated in the title, when I open the app everything works fine unless I touch the volume buttons. From a single press of either + or - volume buttons (also happens if I use the actual physical volume buttons on my iPhone) the volume starts lowering itself and doesn't stop until I force kill the app. Happens on all my apple devices for that matter. Quite annoying considering I mainly use the app to control volume on the tv.
When the app does work, it runs just fine. But it is such a rare occasion that it works for my TV. It’s to the point where I have to constantly reconnect it and it drives me insane. It’s pretty much luck to turn my TV on at this point. Even when I get it on, the remote on my phone doesn’t work. Usually I have to disconnect every single cable and reconnect to get something out of it. Very disappointed in this app.
Called and canceled my cable and never looked back. Saving +$200/ mo. even after getting Wi-Fi, Roku boxes, Hulu package w/ local channels, A&E package and Discovery package. I had spent $40,000 with my cable company in the last 12 years. Nice house down payment, huh? They offered me a $20 discount a month for 12 months. I laughed and told them I now will be saving 10X that amount in one month. Cut the cord NOW!
The remote is constantly saying to connect to a network when I’m already connected. Doesn’t work half of the time and sometimes it just shuts itself right down. It’s very frustrating to say the least.
Yes my app is up to date, yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted all devices in question, and yes my phone is up to date as well as all of our Roku devices I am trying to use it with.
The best streaming stick out there. Periodt!!! Believe me, and I’ve tried many others. Save yourself the headache and just get you a Roku. Best part for me is the responsiveness. Click… and it goes. No lagging, no whining, no spinning. So refreshing. All others should be banned in my opinion. Roku’s technology should be the only one allowed on the streaming stick market. Yeah I said it….
Hello, Abram here! I’ve come to give my review of the Roku app. Boy, I never thought I would stumble across such a thing. A remote…in a phone? I could hardly believe it. And yet, here we are. I can whip out my phone any time I want and use it as a remote. How helpful! Especially when I can find that dang remote. Grrr! Just kidding, of course! I would recommend this to anyone!
I just spent 30 mins trying to locate the physical remote because the app wasn’t connecting despite my Roku TV being fully connected to my internet. Please fix this issue! Because it seems kind of strange seeing how the show I was watching played through without buffers but my up to date iPhone was telling me there was no Rokus connected to the Wi-Fi in my home.
