Sam's Club | App Report, Store and Ranking Data

I’m an actual truly have a mobility disability and use a power wheelchair, have an actual wheelchair auto tag that’s assigned to me (side note: disabled auto tag/ placards are assigned to the disabled oerson, not their spouses, children, friends and are to be present when using those spaces). The issue besides those spaces being used by illegally by others is that The majority are clueless or just inconsiderate by blocking the wheelchair “walkway and worst of all the crossed off wheelchair access areas for leaving carts and convenience scooters in. When that happens a true wheelchair user either can’t park there or can access their vehicles after shopping… unless they could move all those carts, flatbeds, scooters. And good luck getting the cart pushers to clear the area in a timely manner! Then, when/if you do get in and need assistance most workers respond by rolling their eyes, tell you that’s not their area or just flat out ignore you… I’m serious. Recently I asked for assistance on a different isle and the guy just stared at me….. was so obvious displeased to be ask he then totally ignored me….. another customer witnessed this and.they were so shocked by the employee that they offer to help me. I’m a paraplegic and couldn’t put a large heavy item in my cart…… so the other members kindly helped me! And yes I said something to the shift manager Michael in Apopka Florida. He said he’d speak again to staff….. an ongoing problem

What’s impressive about the Sam’s app is that rather than just rest on their laurels with a mediocre app, the software and user interface continues to improve. Scan and Go, easily the star of the show, is faster and more accurate than before plus the app itself saves countless hours waiting in line at the checkout. The only hiccup here is having to wait in the receipt line behind the troglodytes who went through conventional checkout….JUST kidding! (About the troglodyte part.) But I do feel like there needs to be some sort of bonus besides the time saving element for scanning our own items. Earlier in the program we saved an additional percentage off our bill, which was great. Accessing needed other parts of the app seem to take fewer taps too. I haven’t decided yet if scanning the QR code at the pump is faster than whipping out my Sam’s card or not but I intend to put a stopwatch on both methods in the future. Sam’s also rocks in their cash back bonuses and I easily pay for my membership and some there. I also applaud the flexibility in redemption options. While using the bonus cash to pay for future purchases is convenient, it isn’t investment smart in my case. I’d rather deposit it in a high interest earning account instead then just use my Sam’s card to earn more cash.

I loved this app when it first came out. Easy to use, Scan and Go was fantastic, online ordering was a snap. Lately it’s become almost useless. The last couple of times I’ve been in a store I’ve had trouble with scan and go not letting me check out. So I’m told to go through checkout and scan all my items again. Grrrrr. Now, at home placing an order to be shipped it freezes up at the checkout page after swiping to pay. I switch devices and try again. Same problem. I finally found a customer service phone number by Googling Sam’s Club (because there wasn’t a phone number on the app that I could find). Lo and behold, I’m pretty sure their customer service is now in a foreign country. After being on hold for 10 minutes I get disconnected. I call back and wait. This time the guy has such an accent I couldn’t understand what he was saying except “sign out and sign back in”. He didn’t seem to understand that my iPad had locked up. I COULDN’T just sign out. I just close the app and reopened it, but that doesn’t fix it. I had to hang up because he was wasting my time. Sorry SAM’s. I’ve been a loyal member for 40 years. This is about the worst experience I’ve had. PLEASE FIX THE APP AND YOUR. CUSTOMER SERVICE.

App is good - except for it quickly going to scan & go when I’m at home. Fresh Step cat litter is too high. So, not buying it since it went up to $22.98. Inflation… Why do you keep being out of Meow Mix & pet pee pads? I haven’t seen any prices come down. Disheartening when the fed wants to raise interest rates again. On a recycling note: Big box stores have so many things in plastic wrap/bags which are not recyclable to my knowledge. I do put some in with my Walmart bags for recycling since it’s always been said that Walmart takes anyone’s bags. Governments worry about the plastic bags we take things home in; but, who addresses the heavy use of plastic & shrink wrap at Sam’s? Since there is so much of it, it would be good for Sam’s to recycle that plastic.

The Sam’s app is great. It tells you if your item is in stock — in the store or online. Scan and go is so easy — you can do it as you shop for a super quick checkout. However, if you need to check out using two different credit cards, then it’s a hassle. You have to check out all the items for the first credit card and then go through the exit line to get checked out and then you have to go off to the side and check out the items for the second credit card and then get back in the exit line again to go out. I’ve asked employees if there is another way to do it and nobody knows of one. If anyone knows a way to check out using more than one credit card and only having one receipt code, I would love to know.

I love being able to have groceries shipped to my house, but it is annoying. That many items will not ship to my location and there’s no way to know if they are available for shipping to Hawaii until I get to the checkout. I am concerned that less and less items are available for shipping to Hawaii. If paper towels and toilet paper ever stop being available for shipping to me I will cancel my membership. Free shipping is the main reason I have a Sam’s membership. It saves me space in my shopping cart when I am at the store. Sam’s stores alone do not have enough healthy items (especially gluten free) to justify me having a membership.

I’ve been looking for additional products that Sams does not carry so I decided to give Costco a chance and to my surprise, I renewed my Sams membership after 3 days. The ease of “Scan & Go” along with careless payment at the pump is so much more efficient than those of Costco. Although Costco does have some neat products, I’ll probably hustle someone for their membership and continue to use Sams from now on. Sorry Costco you lost me at using multiple cards at the pump and wasting time with your systems trying to save 30 cents per galling of gas. Sams Club, what’s up, I’m back!!

My husband didn’t like going to Sams club to many people you moved things around and we couldn’t find what we needed.standing in line. So I got the scan and Go and he’s opened up some to where he asks people okay where did you move this to. The helpers in there smile and show us. I love the shipping. I get the non edibles mostly through shipping since I get it for free which my card. It’s helped a lot. In and out when we go to the store and things shipped when we need them and not hassle with all the people in the store.
