Send and receive high-fidelity messages, participate in HD voice/video calls, and explore a growing set of new features that help you stay connected. Signal’s advanced privacy-preserving technology is always enabled, so you can focus on sharing the moments that matter with the people who matter to you. • Say anything – State-of-the-art end-to-end encryption (powered by the open source Signal Protocol™) keeps your conversations secure. Privacy isn’t an optional mode — it’s just the way that Signal works. Every message, every call, every time. • Go fast – Messages are delivered quickly and reliably, even on slow networks. Signal is optimized to operate in the most constrained environment possible. • Feel free – Signal is a completely independent 501c3 nonprofit. Development is supported by users like you. No kidding. • Be yourself – You can use your existing phone number and address book to securely communicate with your friends. • Speak up – Whether they live across town or across the ocean, Signal’s enhanced audio and video quality will make your friends and family feel closer. • Whisper in the shadows – Switch to the dark theme if you refuse to see the light. • Sound familiar – Choose custom alerts for each contact, or disable noises completely. Simon & Garfunkel wrote a hit song about it in 1964, and you can experience the sound of silence whenever you want by choosing “None” as your notification ringtone. • Picture this – Use the built-in image editing features to sketch, crop, and flip your outgoing photos. There’s even a text tool so that you can add more words to the 1,000 that your picture is already worth. Feature Request...
Randy MM on 2021-01-19
I know you guys are busy of late with user migrating over. I have had the app since it’s release. One thing I was wondering is if Send with Siri functionality will be added in any upcoming future release. Where this really comes in handy is 2 fold for me; 1. In the car with CarPlay, so I can just speak the message without needing to see the screen. 2. Anywhere else I might be in iOS, like a WEB Page & want to share that with a friend. While the Signal app, shows in the list of app, that takes multiple taps to invoke the send option, but for apps that support it, users & the respective app, will show as a “recent” item, which allows you to save multiple steps in selecting both the app & the person to deliver it to in a single touch. Even the most recent update this week, added an extra step to have to tap (tho I know it allows for sending to multiple people). So, I would love to see sending with Siri & iOS share sheet “Recent” support. RMM
Desktop app is a nightmare
telepati on 2021-01-19
I love the signal clean and user-friendly UI features everything is ok on iOS but the desktop app it is just a nightmare. Why Chat and Contacts are not separate? When you delete the chats on desktop app it is also delete the contacts. It is super annoying. You can’t start a new chat with this contact again from a desktop app. You must write from iOS app must wait for syncing to chat this person again. Another problem is import contacts always give an error which we are on the same network. A desktop app needs a lot of improvement not even close to WhatsApp or Telegram. These problems are not safe to issue these are lack of UI/UX. Hope the desktop app gets a new update soon with fixing this problem.
Better than whatsapp
K9Dog80 on 2021-01-19
I recently was a whatsapp user, and was never fond of the fact it is owned by facebook. Next thing you know, there implementing facebook invasive privacy policies. Jump on the app store, I come across signal. And so far I love it, I love that it’s independent and built off non profit donations. So a big company can NOT buy it out, and everything is private as it should be. No ad based tracking or anything, if your a privacy lover, this is the best app to use. Especially if your talking to someone who does not have access to imessage. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for future updates now that it’s growing wild. Thanks to fb ruining whatsapp.
A WhatsApp hater
Woutwat on 2021-01-19
It needs to be as sufficient as WhatsApp. Multiple calls easier and able to share files, pics and videos etc. Needs a bit more work. I would like to be able to use it solely instead of relying on WhatsApp for the things that signal can’t. I do love signal but needs to be perfected !!!! ASAP. should be friendlier to conduct business as well personal stuff. WhatsApp is not better than signal. But Signal needs to grow some balls for all the people that just signed up for it. And not let them down. As they would look for another platform that can do all the aforementioned!!! Over all it’s a great app.
Diamond Equity Consulting Migrates its Business Coms to Signal
Dr. Rodima on 2021-01-19
@EquityDiamond we trade in high value commodities, high profile clients and a boutique selection of business partners, therefore, we cannot continue with communication Apps that compromise business integrity, privacy and security of our clients. Already, we’ve noticed versatility of Signal and have confidently assured our stakeholders that for now Signal is emerging as a significantly dependable platform, secure and reliable and that added with our own native security, they can for now rest assured we have their concerns mitigated against. THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW.

I am truly impressed with Brian Acton, who thought of making Signal a non-profit along with understanding the privacy of people. I would like to donate to Signal every year as a token of appreciation and for securing our data privacy. I wish we had more people like Brian who think about contributing towards the development of humanity instead of simply being a capitalist. I will always be a Signal user as long as it secures user data privacy. Applaud to Signal team!
Send Failed
GastonCedres on 2021-01-19
I’ve been trying for so long send a message but all I get is Send Failed notification and it’s getting stressful. I did try to update it to the latest version and reinstall the app but it didn’t work. I hipe you guys can fix this, I don’t know if it’s a bug or something but I can’t send messages and don’t know why. I’m running Signal on an iPhone Xr
Needs notification sync, conversation color choice, better read receipts in group chat
pnanninga on 2021-01-19
Needs notification sync when message has been read on another device, notification should disappear on iPad if read on Android or desktop and vise versa. Needs conversation color choice customization (synced to all devices). Needs better read receipts in group chat, use profile pics to show how far each person has read like other messenger apps.
What a joke
Rob on 2021-01-19
Just got the app. Used it a couple of times with my wife, and it starts wanting verification and wants us to compare a bunch of numbers or scan each other’s phone. And now it won’t work at all. The problem I have is that she’s been stuck halfway around the world because of this virus. If it was possible to give this app zero stars, I would have.
Mikebaqper on 2021-01-19
Hello dear, Signal! I love the awesome and most secure unique privacy app. I did not like the design of the chat that is very similar to the facebook messenger chat! Because the boring design of the chat looks cheap and has no illusion. It should change the layout different things like Telegram or LINE. Please Thank you Regards, Xo.
