Great Frig- disappointing & useless App

We just bought the Samsung refrigerator- model # RF24BB69006M- we LOVE the smart frig, but this Samsung SmartThings app is lousy… it has many glitches, for instance, I have to close the app and re-open it to upload additional photos beyond your first selection& unfortunately the photos upload in the original format- any previous crops or edits to enhance the photos are lost in the transfer (only original images load)!?!?. & Why can’t we select how the photos can fill the screen or be arranged - it’s just too basic : This app seems like it’s missing so many functions that it could potentially have, such as linking what you see on the frig screen & what you can see from this app which does nothing much beyond telling you the frig temperature, allows you to load crappy quality photos & also see a small portion of an image of what is inside your frig. You can’t check the calendar from this app ( if your out & about) & why doesn’t it give me the option to add my apple calendar ?? Only outlook or google? Do you realize you are leaving out A HUGE percentage of people by not providing more Apple comparable options ? This app doesn’t allow you to check notes that you leave for each other on your frig screen?? I guess I’m spoiled by Apple/ iPhone 14 with all its great apps that actually serve a purpose with making everyday life easier & function correctly across multiple platforms/ devices within our family. With this Smartthings app you really can’t do much, it’s more like Dumbthings - it’s Very disappointing & frustrating, leaving us Samsung Frig owners needing & wanting more modern technology support & functions … it’s lacking so much potential !!! Please Samsung, if you want to make a “smart” product it needs to work smarter with purpose . Maybe outsource someone to make an app that is equal in smart technology to support these smart high tech products you are marketing & selling. - IT needs more functions & a purpose. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 This app is an embarrassment compared to the high tech smart Refrigerator. It makes me feel concerned that the smart frig is going to fail also 🤷♀️
The latest version took out my STHM on my apple products.

I really want this appt to work, I have a lot of money, time and loyalty to the product. But let’s face it, since the SmartThings classic was decommissioned this product has deteriorated. But I still hung in there hoping for the best because overall I like the product. But since the update 1.6.97 I can no longer use the critical STHM tool. So now when my alarm goes off I have no simple way to turn it off or interact with the STHM in any way. When you try to add it it and complete the set up you get a “There was a problem connecting. Try again later.” The reason I know it’s the version is because I have 6 apple devices, Tablets and phones, and it so happens one of the tablets and one of the phones had the previous version and STHM worked as expected. So dumb me assumed since I have sync across devices if I upgrade to the latest version it would replicate and I’d have he STHM. Wrong and unfortunately I was dumb and upgraded both device so no apple device STHM functionality. I also have 2 Android tablets that are fortunately working fine with the latest update but when not home and the alarm is sounding, add in a untech savy 75yr old, things get ugly and scary for grandma. Please either revert this update or solve the problem. I am right now playing with Hubitat and HA and they may win my favor but, I really do not want to recreate years of sensors, rules and automations if I can avoid it.

This is by far the worst app I’ve ever dealt with. The frame TV deserves a way better experience. Adding photos to the art mode is a literal nightmare. After you make a selection of photos to add they don’t show up unless you close and reopen the app. Half the time, you don’t receive the prompt to add more photos, so you have to close and reopen the app. Lately, I’ve been working on adding photos and it will leave the art mode category and bring me to the main menu, ruining everything I was doing and cashing me to have to start over.
There is a really frustrating feature where if you don’t have your image cropped to exactly a 16:9 ratio, it will not give you the option to remove the matte or select different matte options. I will have my photos saved at that ratio, and sometimes it still won’t work. The only thing that works is a photoshop template I created but I have to save my images out that every time. Also, I had to find that little factoid on Reddit and struggle for weeks trying to figure out why I couldn’t remove the matte.
There should definitely be a crop feature in the app, or at the very least, some language about importing images at 16:9 ratio. FRUSTRATING.
Overall, every time I use the app I have to open and close it 2 times minimum and 50% of the time it doesn’t work and I leave very upset only to try again later.
Please fix the horrible user experience.

Update for my review. My VERY VERY expensive picture frame TV still does not work! I have been e mailing back and forth with customer service for over 2 months. Now the slide show feature does not work! If you want to display pictures with ease, this is NOT your TV.
I bought a picture frame TV to easily display family pictures. It has been everything but easy to display pictures on this TV. The app is never working. I’m always getting a system error. It takes me forever to load and reload and start and restart. I also had an android phone and an apple phone that I tried to use with it. Neither one worked so the application doesn’t work at all. Please fix this app!!
I LOVE THE ALARMS!!!

I love the blue tooth alarm system and the fact that I have to acknowledge the alarm before it will in fact turn off. The alarm keeps playing until I say to myself “That’s not just music. If I leave the kitchen it sends a message to my phone or iPad. And my family thought I’d burn the house down with one of these fancy gadget appliances. I hope the next refrigerator/freezer will let me know when my vodka is properly chilled. Then I will be over the moon. I can’t get it to register in Fahrenheit. I can’t set the clock in am or pm and I can’t set the time. I need a lesson. Also I had a electric range before but this one doesn’t work with my Generac.

This app is so frustrating. My tv is on and it constantly says it’s powered off. I have to restart my phone to get it to work. It doesn’t work with another tv of mine at all. Deleted my device, reinstalled the app, re-added my tv, worked for a day and now can’t even detect that my tv is online and turned on. I resulted in ordering remotes from Amazon. My iPhone mirror feature and YouTube cast features work better than the app. At least those are reliable. Ain’t no THING smart about this app.
Clunky and problematic app for Frame TV

We use our frame TV strictly as a rotating photo frame in our living room. I love what the photos add to the room. The TV looks pretty good. The app is so bad for controlling the photos and the slideshow within it I almost can't believe it. It is inconsistent and allowing me to add new photos or sort through the ones that I currently have saved within the TV. Also, every time you leave the app, it restarts back to the beginning, forcing you to go through all the steps over and over again.
Buggy and not user friendly

They need to stop adding new automations and features that only partially work and break the existing ones. I haven’t been able to get my locks to update with the old routine and the new one won’t save. It keeps getting an error.
They have now prevented third party smartApps from working which was the only benefit of having a ST hub or app. Don’t waste you money on a hub or your time with the app. Find a better product that doesn’t restrict your devices with the hub’s poor UX.
Doesn’t work without precise location.

Why can’t this app function without the need to track my stationary appliances? (Insert refrigerator running joke) Not sure why it’s even needed if you can’t actually turn on the oven from in the app, I don’t want to send instructions to it just to walk over to hit a button to confirm it, I want to preheat it while I’m on my way home from work. It always disconnects as well. I won’t be buying any more Samsung appliances until they put customers, not data sales as a priority.
Can’t sign in via Google

So, my husband just got us a new washer and dryer. Cool. He gets the app on his phone. A Google pixel. His app has the option to sign in via Google. So no password required. But on my iPhone there is no option to sign in via Google and he can’t make a password for the account he already has set up on his account phone. A little compatability would be great, but I know! It’s Apple. That would make things too simple!
