Spotify has been showing horoscope and Joe Rogan podcasts front and center on my personalized feed. I’ve never listened to anything that should suggest I’m into either this pseudo-science or ignorant trash. To each their own, but trying to force your religion/views on me is absolutely not okay, and crosses all lines for me, especially as a paying subscriber. Podcast suggestions are dominating my home screen, though I never listen to podcasts on spotify. These podcasts are often embarrassing or inappropriate, and tend to foul my mood when I just want to listen to some relaxing music. There is no option to hide them, and spotify shoots down every forum request for such a feature. The only feedback method is to leave posts on the community forum. But spotify always shoots down app improvement ideas for not getting enough votes, or because a similar idea has already been posted (which they’ve shot down too). If you browse the user suggestions and ideas, you’ll see that Spotify denies nearly every single suggestion, ignoring their 150M+ paying customers. This includes simple, no-brainer ideas like being able to custom sort the order of my playlists from my phone. Instead, I have to use the desktop version of Spotify to manage my playlists. Most people probably don’t turn to the spotify forum, so relying on active voting to decide whether to improve the app is a flawed approach. There are basic features the app needs that shouldn’t require a petition. It’s unfortunate that there is no awesome music streaming app out there. Spotify just happens to be the least painful to use.
A big issue I’ve been having with Spotify is with the “and more” option to view songs since it only applies to playlists and not albums or an artists page where their top songs are displayed. Why have that be an option if it’s not available for everything else. Going to a new artist and not being able to see the full list of songs on an album kinda ruins the experience of the (artist) radio option. When I find a new artist I want to be able to sample listen to songs and see what songs there are. Also why did they remove the listen to radio option on songs and artists? As much as I like Spotify I’m only gonna rate it 3 stars for now bc of this.
Hello people looking at the reviews, I suggest this app so much!! You can make your own playlist and make make the private or if you want public so other people can lister to. You get to listen to free music at any time (any time if you get premium). There are ads without the premium, but they are only like 10-20 secs. You can listen to podcasts Whitehall is really cool. So I totally suggest this app!!
For the creators, thank you so much for the app! I love listening to music and podcasts when I’m cleaning, in the car, and to sleep. It’s such a awesome app. Love y’all!! <3 <3
I will be listening to a playlist and after a song, maybe two it will stop playing all together and Spotify doesn’t even show up on the Lock Screen as it normally would while playing music. I open my phone and Spotify has been completely closed out, I have to reopen Spotify and start the song over again from the beginning. Then about 5-10 minutes later it will stop again and the process repeats. I am fully updated for the app and I am only recently starting to have this problem. Other than that this app has been really great, and I have been using it for over 8 years.
I love your service but am rating it 1 star so that this will hopefully have greater impact. I will edit if this issue is resolved.
After pausing a Podcast that is midway through, it is marked as “Played” although I will commonly be only 1/3, or any percentage, through. Upon clicking “Mark as Unplayed”, it restarts the Podcast, forgetting my position. An un-completed episode should not be marked as “Played” until fully completed.
I have had Spotify for over a year now and it’s a good app! It’s just for the phones. When I need to listen to music on my phone I go to Spotify. But, when I want to listen to something specific I have to put it on shuffle until it plays the song I want it to. Also if I’m listening to a song that I want to play for a while I don’t have a repeat button. I would give the app a 4-5 star but sadly cannot.
I’m seeing a lot of reviews that blame spotify for users own shortcomings. if used correctly (updated to the latest version, premium subscription), this app exposes you to the best music, artists you wouldn’t even know you love, podcasts for all your interests and so much more! If you’re a student or know a student, you only have to pay $5 a month and get HULU?!? it’s the best app. alright that’s all
Premium user. You do get the unlimited listening, no commercials, download liked songs. No complaints there.
But they update AT LEAST once a month which causes issues connecting to any Bluetooth speaker.
Great theoretical service, but the annoyance of connecting makes me strongly consider switching to a different music site.
For some reason now when I have the Spotify app open after a few minutes it will just close unexpectedly. It’s frustrating because I uses Spotify to listen to my music primarily. Now that this problem is occurring I have to keep opening the app to continue to listen to my music.
I love Spotify I listen to music all the time on there and I have a few playlists. But when I want to listen to music off-line I can’t because you have to be premium so maybe give the non-premium people like five songs to download off-line and then make it premium.
