I absolutely LOVE this game. Meeting and getting to know all of the villagers in Pelican Town and the valley beyond, offers challenges and fun little rewards that keep me coming back for more. There’s a general attitude of kindness, community and empathy in this cool little pixelated paradise, not to say there isn’t a bit of drama here and there. There are lots of surprising “Easter eggs” and fantastic little prizes to be found allllll over the place! I really enjoy the immersive “cut scenes” that are sprinkled throughout the gameplay. I absolutely recommend this game to anyone who enjoy collections and achievement based games. It’s full of whimsy and such a lovely way to take some time to relax and enjoy the seasons changing and follow the progression of the storyline. I was introduced to “Star Dew” a few years ago on my desktop computer where I’ve been playing ever since on the “Steam” platform. I am so delighted that now I can take my favorite, relaxing little game with me on my I-pad when I travel or I’m chilling out, away from my computer. BUT....HEY DEVELOPERS! When will some of the new and exciting content I’ve been enjoying on my desk top be added to the I-pad version? I play this game daily. It’s soothing and really helps me wind down from all the stresses of everyday life. Ah.....Pelican Town!
I both love and REALLY REALLY HATE this game. The game play of this game is awesome and I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into learning all the details I can.
BUT the bugs just kill this game and the developer doesn’t seem to have any interest in fixing them. For example one of the more serious bugs is where the sound in game stops working when you move from one location to the next and then the entire game crashes.
When you relaunch the game you have to start your in game day all over again. That’s kind of a big deal when you need to replay an entire in game day (about 15 minutes). And it does this often, about every third or fourth in game day.
This has been an issue for years, reported by hundreds of players (or more) and the developer hasn’t done anything about it.
Also what is up with the “Secret Police” on the start screen? I find any reference to secret police highly offensive. Don’t they realize that secret police have been the agents of oppression throughout history for some of the worst authoritarian and totalitarian regimes? It’s offensive that someone would want to name their company after those horrors...
You wouldn’t expect A simple farming RPG game to be as addictive as it is, especially considering of the slow pacing of the game but it is so fun and you lose track of the time that you spend while playing the game days seem like minutes hours seem like seconds it’s honestly crazy, my friend first introduced me to this game on their switch and then convinced me to get it on my iPhone it’s honestly probably the best games I’ve ever played, the art style is beautiful,The dialogue and interactions are interesting, the goals are hard but not too far out of reach and there’s always more to be discovered the game creator himself said that there are things that I’ve never been discovered before in his game and I don’t know about you but I want to be one of the people that find it I highly recommend you get this game it cost some money but it is way worth it it is extremely extremely worth it a few dollars for days and weeks of amazing times please get this game
This has been my favorite game for awhile, I love it. I only have a few minor suggestions. The characters dialog will start to get repetitive as the game goes on and it will start to get boring after the same lines over and over again. I also think that the next update should include new dialog, cutscenes, quests, and the ability to customize the way your kid looks. I also think it would be cool if your kid could actually grow up and you could add a abandoned shack in the forest where you can pay to rebuild it and then send the kid there. I think it would be cool if they add a vacation home and every season someone new comes and whenever they come they can sell you something from their travels. This game is amazing but you may find that it's really hard to want to keep playing once youve spent hours playing on one slot and you've completed everything.
It’s a pretty big blow to user experience when a 14 heart event gift is lost to the PC because inventory is full. It’s a major reward in the game.
How hard would it be for the spouse to ask the PC “would you like your gift now?” with a yes/not ready prompt like at a festival?
Even just leaving the gift on the floor of the house for the PC to pick up later would improve the gameplay.
As it stands, though my PC’s current equipment is statistically equivalent to the gift in question, not actually having it was a gut punch from a player experience standpoint.
I love this game! The soundtrack is wonderful, so are the characters, the environment and the crazy amount of customization you can do on your farm! The worst problem, however, is the game’s fishing mechanics. Fishing is literally impossible for people to do without literal hours of practice, fishing should be simple for the easy fish, and gradually get harder, as opposed to it being RIDICULOUSLY hard to catch even a friggin sardine! Please fix these mechanics! It could help people earn more gold when they need it!
I love this game. Please update this game! I have some suggestions when you release 1.5
- FULL controller support: to control the cursor on main menu or in game menu/ setting
- FULL mapping buttons: we need more buttons for controller like what we have on other platforms. Put item back to the bag (instead of bring it above the head). Button to store all items to chest at the same time, drop items, control cursor...
- Add setting: Placement tile indicator. Very important!
I played stardew valley on switch for a while and loved it so I was really excited when I saw it was on mobile. 100% worth the money! The music and the design and the characters and everything is just *chefs kiss*. I would love if there were more types of dogs and cats to choose from and maybe even horses, but honestly I can’t think of any downsides of this game except that it’s so addicting! Seriously if you’re thinking of getting this game DO IT. You’ll thank me later.
If you on iOS please avoid this game. It crashes almost every day and you must restart the entire day again. Creator not interested in fixing problem. Plus after almost 6 months to nit have newest version on mobile shows creator nit interested in those on mobile devices. Very sad. If he won’t employ others to help him he should just say he nit going to care about mobile players. I will find a new game fir my money and time. Very sad.
This once was a fun game. But now it crashes every other in game day. Developer doesn’t care. He is silent on bugs and has no interest in helping resolve them. Not to mention major update out almost 6 months and he refuses to say when, if ever, update will come to mobile. I guess the $$$$$ grab to bring a stupid board game was what mattered most to him. Time to find a mobile game where players are important. Good bye.
