Mostly GREAT game! Make controls work better to be truly greats
whatelephantsknow on 2020-09-27
It’s a fun, versatile game. I play this game with my kids. I mostly enjoy building things, while they each prefer a different mix of building, adventure, and environmental and boss challenges. I’ve had a long history with this game, pretty much from its initial release on iPad. I loved it in the beginning, but a series of changes, and non-changes soured me on it for several years. It has come back in the last couple of years, with the update to Terraria 1.3, and it’s a great, fun game once again. While we all wait for the coming 1.4 update, the one thing that is still a challenge with this game are the controls. They can be very finicky and unintuitive. For example, some weapons change directions when you turn, and some don’t. It’s always a challenge to get hooks to go in the direction you want. Movement controls. Things like that could be fixed to work a lot better. To the developers: Please test out the controls more, and maybe rework them to work more smoothly. Otherwise, keep up the great work! Old obsolete review: I used to love this game and had elaborate constructions done in a couple of local worlds. Then, recently, I moved from one iPad to another and then found that none of my local players and worlds had transferred. ARGH!!! This seems like a pretty new VERY VERY BAD recent change as when I moved devices a year ago, my save files did transfer. So, if you play this game, unless you’re planning on playing on the same device forever, never use local saves as you’ll lose them if you ever need to restore. (I would have used iCloud saves but since there’s no way to transfer a world from local save to iCloud, that’s not too helpful.)
One of my Favorite Games

Terraria is very fun. I appreciate the developer’s efforts to update the mobile version as well as the PC and console editions. I was worried when the 1.3 update was released for iOS and Android that the controls would be jumbled and hard to use, but proved pretty simple in practice and I quickly mastered them. Someone who looked at these controls would probably think “that screen is cluttered with buttons” but when comparing it to the simple yet insufficient controls of the pre-1.3 update, this is clearly an improvement. As for the actual game, it is a masterpiece, no matter what platform you play it on (well, maybe not Wii U). One thing you’ll notice is that there is a LOT of stuff in this game. It is packed with weapons, enemies, bosses, NPCs, items, accessories, vanity items, biomes; it’s overflowing with content. You can do almost anything in this game. You can loot dungeons, you can build mansions, you can wire up a machine to automatically slay slimes for you, you can even devote your entire playthrough to doing angler quests (though I wouldn’t recommend it). You have a lot of freedom and a lot to explore and the game is absolutely a good time, especially with a friend or two. If you have $5 to spare, this game is absolutely worth the money.
Tips for Terraria
fax machinery on 2020-09-27
Here are a few tips you should consider for Mobile Terraria before you end development. 1. Add more achievements, adding more achievements would bring more things to do in Terraria and also motivate people to do more challenges. 2. Bring Tmod Loader to Mobile, this ones a stretch but I think if you were to bring Tmod Loader to Mobile Terraria that would make the game a lot more fun. I understand that there are legality issues with this and I completely understand if you could not add it, but you should look into it. 3. Make multiplayer better, multiplayer in Mobile Terraria, even Terraria as a whole is a bit lackluster. The way you approach multiplayer should be changed. Take minecraft for example, add something like realms where the owner doesn’t have to be on, make better server navigation (the multiplayer menu) and more. Well those were a couple of tips that rolled off of my head, this suggestion would probably be lost in the sea of other suggestions so if you, a developer of Terraria are reading this, thank you. You have made a legendary game, a game of which I am proud to be apart of. Your involvement with the community and the speed of which updates are being developed now surprise me. Thank you Terraria. Thank you. -Fax Machine
I love this game EXCEPT FOR...
loLzzdd on 2020-09-27
I absolutely love this game. It is the one of the best, possibly the best survival game I have ever played. It’s amazing, has soooo many weapons and craft able items, and a ton of mobs to beat. While I love terraria more than other games, like Minecraft, the reason why I’m constantly deciding which one is better is because of one key factor. Creative mode. I love surviving, but creative mode has always played a huge part in survival games for me because I can utilize everything the game has to offer. Unfortunately, I have an iPad and Xbox but not a computer. This leads to the major problem. WHY IS JOURNEYS END NOT IN MOBILE YET!?!?!? That would be amazing and i have seen gameplay of it and I have always wanted to play it. Please bring journeys end to mobile and don’t stop there. This game is a masterpiece and countless people love and play it. Please don’t stop at journeys end. Create another world, or an alternate separate timeline or something creative like that. This game is the best and it would be sad to end it at journeys end. Also, please bring journeys end to mobile.
Buy this game!

I have spent easily over 100 hours on this game, and every second was almost perfect. From the insane attention to detail down to every pixel, the amazing bosses and enemies, progression that makes you feel unstoppable at points. It’s all fantastic! I’ve beaten the game 5 times now, and I’m currently getting used to expert mode since I love a challenge. But all in all if you have the money to spare, buy it. You won’t regret it. The only complaint I have is definitely the sniper rifle, the scope functionality is janky but it’s not to bad to be unusable. One other thing (this isn’t really a complaint) is that if you use a controller while playing it will greatly increase your fighting and building capabilities. So if you want to enjoy this game at its full potential, use a controller.
BETTER THAN MINECRAFT
Rewerb456 on 2020-09-27
Let me just say that this game is amazing. This is coming from someone who played and loved Minecraft, but terraria is much, much better. First off, terraria has so many bosses and weapons. How many boring bosses that just fly around does Minecraft have? TWO! Plus there’s actual classes in terraria and it’s actually fun to build stuff. Although you can’t play with your friends cross platform, you can play together if you’re both on mobile. I recommend that is you have a pc you should get terraria on it, as it’s only ten bucks on steam and it already has the 1.4 update (which adds more features and items than the entirety of Minecraft will ever have) Overall this is one of my favorite games ever, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
The New Update Makes it Hard to Play
Hathor Lewis on 2020-09-27
So, I’ve always loved this game, it’s super fun and amazing. The biggest issues are that I couldn’t bring my data from to game to my iPhone from my iPod so I was forced to start over. Now, unfortunately with the new update I haven’t played it much because the controls are too hard to get used to. Jumping is harder now, as well as fighting, picking up and placing objects, seeing items on the screen, and the over all layout is very poor and silly. I go in to play this game like I used to and just can’t with how much they’ve changed and the lack of thoughtfulness towards the users. I gave it four stars because it was an amazing game, and I’m sure still can be if you have hours to figure everything out smoothly.
This is a great game and I don’t get everyone’s problem
WoodenHammer on 2020-09-27
I’ve played this game on mobile since Lepus and Turkor were introduced (their not in there anymore *sigh) and when the 1.3 update came, I did find the controls weird but that soon changed. All of the other comments hate them, but they are super adjustable, you can make buttons bigger, smaller, move them around, or delete them. There’s even a setting to turn back on the swipe to jump. Ever since I updated, I can’t go back to using the “appear where your finger taps” way. This is a great game and I don’t like that people are complaining about controls that you can adjust to your liking. P.S I really want horn o’ plenty added to all versions (maybe make it add it or a variant to moon lord drops or something)
Too many gold critters!
Lockedawg75 on 2020-09-27
Today I started a new playthrough as an archer. And I found 5 GOLD CRITTERS!! 3 gold birds, 1 gold bunny (I didn’t catch it though) and 1 gold squirrel. I thought gold critters were supposed to be rare and not common. But that was AWESOME!! Thx for the gold critters . I’m gonna be RICH!!!! If this keeps up, I’m gonna have some platinum coins. Plus can you make Duke Fishron easier? I’m having a hard time fighting him. Can you also make Truffle Worms more common as well? I need Duke Fishron’s weapons before the endgame. PS: I rated this app one star because I want people looking at the critical reviews to see this. Really I’d rate this app 5 stars ⭐️.
Good game bad everything
Silent.tiger on 2020-09-27
The servers. There is none working and you can't connect to any mobile ones well. The corruption. There should be an option to turn it off the everything is good exept the corruption is so bad I can't play. I like building. I want a creative mode.i cant play when every hour I play anouther 1/8th of the map is devoured by the stinking crimson/corruption. Its stupid. Please add a way to turn off the spread of corruption/crimson. Also please add a creative mode/ not flying just command get items like in servers. Which you can never play in in mobile cause somethings wrong and it crashes all the time and never works.
