Terrible support.
Colin199 on 2020-08-14
Had only just remade my tinder when suddenly I was told for “Your Tinder profile has been banned for activity that violates our Terms of Use.” I read these terms and can’t seem to find what I could have possibly done wrong. So I emailed support asking for them to please clarify exactly what I violated, and they say that they can’t tell me. Even worse, when I ask to appeal this decision, they say that Tinder has no appeal process. So they ban you without a reason, and then give no chance for an appeal. What’s even worse, they have the tightest possible security to make sure you never use the app again. Through some research I learned that you cannot possible make a new account without making a new Facebook, Apple ID, and getting a new SIM card. So how can tinder have the resources to upkeep this tight security but not have the resources for an appeals process? Or at least have the decency to tell people WHY they are permanently banned? Each time I emailed I got a response back right away. They have the employees to help, those employees just aren’t allowed to actually do anything helpful.
Ineffective System For Reporting Accounts
sg2442 on 2020-08-14
Tinder makes it incredibly easy to report accounts and understandably so. However, once your account is banned, there is no appeal process - you’re done, you can never use that phone number again. I am 99% sure that I didn’t violate community guidelines in the first place (especially compared to what other people do and say on Tinder), but I wrote an apologetic letter asking for my account to be unbanned regardless of all of that. My response from Tinder basically said that it was my fault in the first place, and that they were unwilling to review it. It was almost like they never even read my request, but just gave me the cookie cutter response. I also never received any evidence as to what I did wrong/why I was banned. I was a paying customer, but now I will be sticking to Bumble and Hinge - at least they have good reporting and reviewing methods. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen with bios that say “downloaded _______ bc I got banned from Tinder for no reason.”
Absolute Buffoons of Tech Support
Cheezy Rice on 2020-08-14
I would love to use this service, but unfortunately they won’t let me! One year ago I entered the wrong birth year when creating my account and it calculated that I must wait over 2400 days until I turn 18. I am 20 years old. I decided to finally contact Tinder’s tech support and they told me to wait until I was 18 despite the fact that I specified that it was an error. So, I went into depth telling them that I put the wrong age and I would do whatever they needed to prove that. They responded, “unfortunately we cannot do appeals right now, you will remain blocked for the specified amount of time.” Well you must not be very good tech support if you don’t know how to click a couple buttons and reset my age. You also must be complete idiots to still believe I am twelve year old attempting to match and swoon 18+ year olds on your service. Thanks for being dumb.
Falsely reported by Harasser
Ohdrs42 on 2020-08-14
I’m speaking as a woman who had tons of matches and super wipes and was able to have a nice time getting to know men on the app for a bit. However, it’s now apparent this company has no real means of justifiable investigation into people falsely reporting others, which is highly concerning. I have no interest in repeatedly emailing different types of proof that a man I rejected falsely reported me to get me banned, just to be met with a Tinder customer support automatic email saying “we have no means to appeal a ban”. Seriously? This seems to be such an issue with many other women I know, you would think during a time when an app could be having tons of traffic due to Covid, they would be more aware and proactive about protecting those who just wanna enjoy some company without fear of company’s taking the easy side with no real investigation. Bumble it is.
App crashes 95% of the time
jcroque89 on 2020-08-14
I’ve used tinder in the past, it’s been a while and this time around I decided to pay for gold. I installed and paid for it last Monday 8/3. Since then, it repeatedly fails to open. Literally, I click on the app, the load screen comes up, after about 10-15 seconds it aborts. Sometimes it goes 24 hours where I’m unable to open the app at all. I’ve seen the standard, automated replies that tinder provides to users experiencing issues. Yes - I have auto updates on, Ive logged out and back into the app, yada yada yada . I’ve even logged a service request three days ago that’s gone unanswered. Nothing has worked, and I’m increasingly doubtful they even have a solution. Incredible that they’re charging people when they’re unable to follow through on their obligation. I’ve asked them for a refund, and will look at using other apps in the future.
Worst App Ever
cvwl97 on 2020-08-14
Tinder is a very unforgiving app. I’ve put a lot of money into this app so I would have the opportunity to meet new people in my area considering I was new to the area. I had no friends no boyfriend. Tinder banned me from this app because I let my friends back home look at my phone, and because they don’t believe in dating apps, they purposely got me banned. I’m very upset. I tried emailing tinder trying to explain the situation and no one ever got back to me. It seems like Tinder does not care about the people using their app at all, they only care about the money from those people’s pockets. Since then I have been using Bumble and they have been extremely helpful with everything. I’ve been able to meet a lot of good people through Bumble.
Incredibly Disappointed.
djsteink on 2020-08-14
I honestly have no idea why I’m even on this app. It’s absurd how many spam accounts and guys appear in my searches (I only have “Women” selected in my preferences). I mean I’m not shocked; this has been a problem on the app for years. However, I am surprised that Tinder never seems to make an effort to clean itself up. Especially since the app only lets you report a small number of accounts, I frequently run out when I’m trying to help report accounts as “Spam”. One new problem though. Lately, it’s been showing me people who live thousands of miles away, even though my “Global” feature is turned off. TLDR? Seriously Tinder, please do better.
Who does this app work for?
PHUKWAV on 2020-08-14
Have about a week on the app, first time user. Im not a bad looking guy and I know the type of women I can attract being that I only lived in nyc my whole life and know the preferences of most women here and how my strengths and weaknesses play to it. Although it definitely feels like this app doesn’t do much for men. I got a handful of matches second day when I properly set my account but after that it’s been a dry spell. Another thing is I’m 100% sure i like my women born female from birth. I need a filter or something to clarify my preferred orientation. Maybe a glucose guardian feature to spot the sugar mommas too lol.

So, I got out of a 7 year relationship and didn’t quite know what I was doing in the dating game anymore. I was really just on tinder to see what kind of guys were out there. I wasn’t gunna be too eager to jump into a relationship again. I met my fiancé on here literally by chance. He was so different than my “type” but I’m glad I took that chance. I met the love of my life on tinder and we are planning a wedding next August. We are so glad we took chances on each other and so thankful tinder brought us together, otherwise we’d probably still be searching for each other in every wrong place!
Account banned and no review or explanation
henry.richardson on 2020-08-14
My account was just banned and was never explained why. I keep my messages pretty pg-13 and under. Nothing thirsty. My photos are not sexual and nothing in my info is sexual. When I go to try and reinstate my account they do t have any phone number to call, no one to email to have your account reviewed, and I can’t even start a fresh account because my number is attached. So I guess I am just permanently banned and can’t do anything. I mean if they are going to do that they should at least email you what you did apparently to get banned. Because honestly I have zero idea.
