This app is probably fine for most people, but it is horrible for low vision users who prefer not to be conspicuos by using voiceover in public. Zero accessibility features and miniscule font even when iPhone’s large font function is employed. Ironic given how many blind and low vision people don’t drive and would be potential regular users of the service. To be fair, Lyft’s app is only marginally better in this regard.
Update: the app developer sent me a message asking for specific suggestions. Like i said, build in a way to increase font size or have the app make use of the iPhone already-existing large font features. Another idea is to not assume “accessibility” only means people on wheelchairs or who use guide dogs. How much would it help customers AND drivers if “rider is low-vision” or “rider is deaf”could be voluntarily added to the profile? Understand that very few “blind” people are completely blind just as very few deaf people are 100% deaf, so many of us prefer to use tech as naturally and inconspicuously as possible.
Thing is, it is not just a low -vision problem. When i complained to my spouse and a couple of friends —alll of whom have eyesight in the normal range, they all said they found this app’s font hard to read.
Uber used to be a cheap way for me to get to and from work without having to carpool (I can’t do that, nobody will take me) or taking the bus. When I first used Uber to go to and from work (at a mall, no less), it was a flat rate of $5.50-$6 a ride, and I got frequent discounts, but not as much as last year (2019). Now that Uber is jacking up their prices, and is under new management, they don’t want to do their “Ride and Save” program anymore. They used to allow me frequent discounts between 50%-30% off and my rides usually cost between $3-$5 a ride and it was great. It’s been several months, since about July, that I haven’t received any of those discounts. So many years loyal to a ride hailing app for them to just keep jacking up their prices? It costs me around $8 to go to work and back him and I have to order a ride twice a day! Change your policies because they’re not good at all.
Edit: someone from the development team answered but you might as well not bother if it’s not going to change a thing. Just bring back “Ride & Save” period. It’ll be an incredible incentive for us to keep using Uber without giving 1-star reviews, and we will thank you for it, and my paycheck will as well.
Uber is a service provider and they purposely block their customers and hinder every conceivable way of contacting them for ANY reason.
Their support options are not even basic. It’s only Frequently Asked Questions. Nothing else is provided. Do they have customer service? If they do have customer service, what good are they to customers who cannot contact them?

There used to be a comment feature for individual trips, but it has been discontinued. Without notice and without explanation.
Uber refuses to accept unsolicited comments, questions and suggestions. They state that fact clearly in their support documentation that includes a legal statement that declares that if they do accept any comments or suggestions they have no obligation to follow through or respond and the customer has no recourse.
So, why does Apple support an app that belongs to a company that deliberately disregards and disrespects the customers that use it?
How is Apple going to address this issue?
Uber gives you two options, either pay in cash or pay by card. Yet somehow every time I want to pay in cash the Uber app does not let me, keeps saying to verify the payment method. I have uninstalled and installed it back multiple times and it still doesn’t work. Now, with these times where we can’t even take public transportation anymore Uber has another fault... now, when I choose to pay with my card the Uber driver cancels immediately, so basically I can’t even use the app because the drivers are constantly complaining about how Uber doesn’t pay them if it’s with card payment. I even end up getting to work late because up to 4 drivers cancel on me. Next time I have to get out of my house just so the driver can drive away when I’m about to open the door, or if the driver refuses my request telling me that they don’t accept card payments anymore or that the app doesn’t run if it’s with a card or whatever other excuse after I’m already IN THE CAR, telling ME to cancel and to get out making me waste MY time, I will sue.
I had an issue about a year ago where a payment didn’t go through. I contacted customer support immediately and was told the problem was being resolved, but never heard back. I tried reaching out 6 months later and the same thing happened. I am now trying to get this resolved again because I believe someone is trying to access my account and payment information, and I cannot delete the account without paying the balance. I had the finger pointed at me for this mess, even though I was the only one being proactive about it. I’ve been allowed to slip through the cracks, and now my information is at risk. They make it as hard as possible to get a hold of someone, and once you do get in touch with a representative they don’t care enough to try to help you. Once I get this fixed I am permanently deleting my account. Everyone at this company wants to play the “not my job” game.

They need to make it to where drivers can’t pick up rides when they’re too far away or Uber needs to give us a preference as to how close the driver has to be ! I’m sick of being late because the Uber driver is 7 minutes away !!! That is irritating, they need to be at least 3 minutes close

I have been ripped off multiple times by dishonest drivers who lie and say I did not pay the full amount when paying in cash. Uber has not even responded to any of the messages I have sent. They need to do a better job screening their drivers. **update** More than a week has passed since the incident and still have not received any response from in app support. Essentially I was robbed by a driver, I cannot write a review of him and I cannot give him a much deserved 1 star rating.
**update 2** After more than two weeks I am unable to send support any messages for this issue and NEVER received a response. I will delete this app and never use uber again under any circumstances. Customer support does not exist and goes unaddressed. I recommend using anything but Uber complete disgrace.
It is not worth dealing and there is no confidence in financial transactions
After ordering the trip and paying in cash,
I was surprised that the amount was deducted from my card through an international purchase. I contacted the support with showing all the evidence from the bank and did not receive any result from them !!!
I called the support sent on the link and asked me several requests and provided them with them, but unfortunately there is no response or result after 24 hours have passed, I hope this is not a hoax.

1. This company told shareholders they refused requests by state unemployment offices about their employees wages.
Those employees cannot get unemployment now because the states have no wage information.
If a local small business refused to pay into the unemployment bucket they would be shut down.
2. The CEO wrote a letter to the gov’t asking for tax payer dollars to pay for the sick leave of their employees.
Uber still refuses to pay benefits to their employees, but wants tax payers to foot the bill so they can make larger profits.
Why does this company dodge their obligations?

I have uber for years, when you take uber and the driver don’t come to the point for X reason and you waiting because UBER THEY DONT LET YOU CANCELED WITH OUT THE FEE, Lyft it’s other app work like a Uber they have it and you can canceled FOR FREE. I go to the Help part for see if they can sent me the money back guess what THEY DONT CARE ABOUT IT, I wait more the 7days and nobody help me.. to bad it’s NO COMMUNICATION AND LOOK LIKE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY..
