Country to country calling failed

I have had this app for several years. I only use it when I go out of the US so I can call home. This time while I was out of country, I tried using the app and my calls failed. I purchased the Viber call out plan in hopes that I could call family to let them know I arrived safe. My first video chat, I connected but my husband could not hear me. I tried several more times but the video call always failed. Then I tried audio. Again call failed.
I reached out to customer service and they couldn’t find my account where I paid for the service. I finally had to send them a screenshot of my account. I requested a refund but was told because I purchased through the App Store I had to contact apple for a refund. I did download the app from the Apple Store but the call out feature was an in app purchase so Viber should refund my money.
I was gone for 8 days and could not use this app at all. I was better off using messenger. Waste of money.
Missing notifications

Someone contacted me from development. Tried to give me solutions, all of which failed, and now I haven’t heard anything from them. It’s extremely disappointing Viber is my main source of messaging, but nothing seems to work to consistently get notification. I checked all my notifications via viber and phone, I deleted the app with zero luck. Very disappointing.
Months ago:
My notifications have not been working for months now. It is insanely frustrating. I don’t get any notifications until I open the app and see dozens of messages unread. I have toggled off and on all my notifications through viber. My ringer is on. My other notifications outside of viber work just fine. I updated app recently and it fixed the problem and then again today it stopped working. No notifications via iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad. Only notifications via desktop because app is automatically open and in the background.

I only rated 4 out of 5 stars because sometimes the call quality is bad. Some days it’s great and other days. It seems the weather dictates how it works. If it’s really windy out it seems to struggle with a home call. Lol. We joke and say it’s a good viber day or a bad viber day based on the call quality. But the messaging app is awesome and I love how I can text my friends any where in the world free. I have friends in the Uk, Spain and Australia and we can message back and forth like we are on the same city. Pretty awesome and no long distance fees.

Would typically give this app 5 stars as I typically don’t have any issues with it. However, all of a sudden my number was BLOCKED because of “spam or suspicious activity”??? I need this app to keep in contact with my family overseas and I think this is absolutely ridiculous as that is all I use it for. I would really appreciate this account to be unblocked. I have tried multiple times to reach out via email on the contact page of the website and see getting the same response. There needs to be a better algorithm for this. Heard other people have had the same issue!!

They contact people and let them know you got viber ! even if you opt out and don’t allow access to contacts! they contact numbers from your old phones too, what weirdos going to WhatsApp you freaks! No privacy complete lies!
Update: I got a message showing me how to protect my privacy, what a joke as soon as I downloaded the app the first time I opted out and they still did not respect my decisions, where do you get this data from viber? I had people that weren’t in my contacts (access to contacts was never allowed to begin e with) that you contacted you freaks

I have been using Viber long time ago , My viber start to get a lot of spam messages every morning at 5 am or 6am make my sleep not go well because the phone keep annoys from those messages. I try to block those group and delete a lot of times Á ready but doesn’t working……..am really upset about this problems and uncomfortable with those stock group . Now I will not using Viber anymore , and give them 0 Star if I can , if Viber not fix this problem nobody gonna using this app anymore.

I never use viber, i’m more of a whatsapp kind of guy, although my family members use viber. One of them got their accounts blocked because they clicked on a malicious link and possibly got their account taken over? I dont know the reason, but i emailed their customer support twice, and got 2 of the same automated response messages. Doesn’t tell me the actual reason or any guidance on how to get unblocked. I suggested that they move to whatsapp because viber is not it.
TERRIBLE app, not elderly friendly.

No easy way, actually IMPOSSIBLE, to enable the app for my elderly parents that are not capable to type the automated SMS verification code fast enough.
They deleted their app by mistake and although I can use the iPads share screen functionality to guide them installing it, I cannot help them activate this app.
Why there is not an email verification??? I am going to find another app for them to use.
Viber is Broken

I have been using Viber for a while now, and I've been wrongfully blocked. I was using it all day yesterday, without no worries. When I arrived home, my account had been blocked, despite me not doing anything but text my friends, and my family. All of my friends use Viber to communicate with each other. My account being blocked means that our friend group has to find a new app to talk to each other with.

I have used Viber extensively for years, for work and to communicate with relatives abroad. Recently cams on the platform started picking up. While trying to fight back against the daily scam groups, Viber decided to block me completely. Tried following their instruction of getting my account fixed but keep getting an auto reply.
