Works great, but there’s room for improvement

This is the best water app I’ve found But I would love 2 updates: 1. Ability to track progress in reverse. I’d prefer to see how much more water I need to drink vs how much I have drank. That’s much more intuitive. 2. The aesthetics of the iPhone app are not great. I wish it were more like the Apple Watch app where progress is tracked in a circle, instead of a body illustration. Other than that it isn’t bad. I’m a designer 3. It’s nice how tracking coffee accounts for the dehydration that comes with it, but I don’t see an option for the opposite, hydration supplements. I use one called Hydrant, but can only track it as plain water. With all that said. It’s the best single purchase option that I’ve found. Pls take adding these options into consideration!
FOR THOSE WITH ADHD: Fantastic on iPhone, like a dream on Apple Watch
elireze on 2021-04-12
I’ve been dealing with ADHD (ADD) for my whole life. I still have to motivate myself every night so i can bare to brush my teeth. I also forget or neglect being hydrated almost everyday. No habit-related app works on me but this is something else. It’s amazing, packed with features, watch complications, intuitive interface and easy to use. I have it set with a beautiful percentage bar and icon on my main watch face. I love its beautiful and funny reminder notifications on the watch. It’s really fast and fun to progress through the day with the watch app. The iPhone interface is also very nice and quick. Definitely worth the money. No app is like this, specially if you want to keep motivated to stay hydrated during the day as a person with ADHD or ADD.
Active Hours Missing
Tao-ish on 2021-04-12
What’s missing (and has been for years now) from WaterMinder is the ability to DEFINE “Active Drinking Hours”. WaterMinder assumes EVERYONE is on a normal daylight schedule—and it rolls over to start a “new day” of recording at Midnight. So what if you work night shifts? Or start your day later than the usual 9-5? Almost no person in the modern world will always follow Waterminder’s rigid daylight water tracking schedule. Users need to be able to DEFINE what the actual 12 hour duration (day or night, in-between) of drinking water is. The inability to track Active Hours makes what is otherwise a perfectly good app experience ultimately frustrating and essentially NON-FUNCTIONAL.

Updated 4/6/21 This is the best water app I’ve found But I would love 2 updates: 1. Ability to track progress in reverse. I’d prefer to see how much more water I need to drink vs how much I have drank. That’s much more intuitive. 2. Sometimes I get notifications to drink right after I just logged one. Not sure what’s up with that. 3.
More Paywalls.
Tasty Scone on 2021-04-12
All the fat avatars are locked behind an additional paywall. Fat tax strikes again, ya’ll. Update: The developer did reach out to offer a promo code, but I’ve already paid the fat tax. I find it reprehensible that any content at all is locked behind a paywall called “tip.” Tips are gratuity, they’re money paid in gratitude for excellent service. Not money paid to unlock half the app you already paid for. Raise the price of your app a dollar or call the “tip” what it is— tax on diverse avatars.
Love this app
DudemanLA on 2021-04-12
I am actually impressed It is helping me drink more water I love the widget. I also added a shortcut with the shortcuts app and made a widget for quick adding of water. Tip: If you add the widget change the color of the circle so you can read it better. I think I feel better now that I am more hydrated. I bought a few of the 18 oz water bottle on Amazon and it helps me measure how much I drink. Pogo 18-ounce bpa-free tritan water bottle.

Input method need work
DWR508 on 2021-04-12
I like the app; however, I’m looking at others due to the input method. The slider bar with the + and - signs are frustrating. It require more work than it should. It’s nearly impossible to slide it to the desired amount, which then requires tapping multiple times to select the correct amount. Please, please please develop a direct input method using the keypad.
Does the job

Update 26 March: Okay I was snarky in my original review below. I’m happy to pay for my vanity; I just didn’t like the free options. Developer already got back to me and was great. Changing rating from 3 to 5. — It’s fine. Does the thing. Just wish I didn’t have to pay more for the body figure to look like something other than a bathroom sign or a douche.
Update Destroyed App
ShiningSun on 2021-04-12
If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! No longer have the ability to edit water which should have gone on previous day. Logs show 0 mg of water instead of actual amount. The NEW edit screen is clunky and horribly designed. Please fix or change things back to the way they were. If not, I have no further use for this app and will be deleting it.
